Who do you prefer, Sunset Shimmer or Adagio Dazzle?

I like Sunset Shimmer much better, both evil and good.

So is this like name preference or character preference? I actually do not know who Adagio Dazzle is, I assume she is going to be in the newest movie?

She was in the Rainbow Rocks movie :)

Derp by me there. She was the main Dazzle if I recall or one of them at least. I don't remember many main details from that film since I have only seen it once.

With this in mind, I prefer Sunset Shimmer. Not sure why, there is something about her personality that I find a lot cuter.

I perfure Sunset Shimmer over Adagio Dazzle because she had charge ter development and better origin story to the Dazzleings. Sunset Shimmer had a better personality and appearance, when good and evil. Also, in my opinion, Adagio Dazzle was my least favourite Dazzleing: I much preferred Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze as they both had better personalitys and appearances, and they also were the ones getting pushed around by Adagio Dazzle, witch strikes the possibility that, Sonata and Aria could both be reformed if they were ever giving the chance to make real friends. Adagio could see this possibility of looseng her "power" so she try's to prevent that from ever happening. Just my thoughts anyway c:

I'll go with Shimmer on this one just due to she has some depth and can be bad ass in her own right!   I will give Adagio her due in also having not only bad ass but smart and sly in the movies.

I am going to give two answers to this one as I just can't answer this in one way.

In terms of a pure villain I prefer Adagio. I am sorry, but Sunset was a terrible villain. Whereas she was not inly cliche, she was also boring and annoying. On the other hand Adagio was cunning, manipulative, competent, dangerous, and just so fun to watch. I am not going to call her the most original villain, but she is great nonetheless.

As for a pure character though then Sunset wins out. She has gone through her own redemption arc and became a strong character because of it. Adagio doesn't have that; she is only a villain. Take that away what else is there? With Sunset we have seen the dawning of a great character.

I'll give points to Adagio because she likes tacos BUT I like Sunset Shimmer more because of her story and mostly because... come on! Good Sunset is just so cute!

Wait, Adagio was not the one who liked tacos, it was Sonata Dusk,

I'm sure a lot of people will have two answers to the question seeing as Sunset Shimmer is the definition of a breakout character. Most people love the newly reformed Sunset but were unimpressed with her as a villain. On the other hand, the Dazzlings got a much better reception as villains than Sunset did.

But hey, I'm giving only one answer here. Whether we're talking in terms of who the better villain was or who is just the better character overall, Sunset gets my vote all the way. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I was a fan of Sunset Shimmer way before that was ever a thing. B)

Most say Sunset was a cliche and boring villain. I think the better word to describe her is classic. She was a serviceable villain with an intriguing backstory. Her main selling point is that unlike all other villains, (barring the new Starlight Glimmer), she is the only villain who isn't a member of royalty or some ancient beast. She's simply a regular old pony. A pony who went down a dark path. That to me is a lot more interesting, however undeveloped it is thus far, than the backstories given for the other villains. It's just a shame that none of her past was touched upon in the first movie in any significant way. I'll give it to Adagio and her cronies that their powers were neat, and the concept of sirens was creative and cool, but apart from those aspects, I don't feel as if they were any less cliche than Sunset. Perhaps as a trio they were more memorable, as they each had distinguishable personalities to play off of each other, and because of that, they were the far more entertaining antagonists. Sunset had.... Snips and Snails... :dash: But between just Adagio and Sunset, they were equally cruel and calculating. I'm baffled as to how and why people could love Adagio as a villain and hate Sunset when they shared many of the same qualities.

Oh, and Demon Shimmer was far more menacing looking than those silly overgrown seahorses. Just saying. xP

Overall character, Sunny, I really liked her change from EG to RR. I'd liked her change from a lame villain to a lovable girl she became since RR

Adagio Dazzle was also a great character and a much better villain than Sunny, and most of FiM even, as she avoided many common villain mistakes in kids shows and planned ahead, and also brough some sex appeal to FiM. But character wise, she falls short compared to Sunny, as she has to rely on her lackeys: Sonata and Aria to make her interesting in that regard

Adiago didn't much of a personality but I definitely prefer as a villain. I lean towards Sunset Shimmer because she's pretty cute and likable as a reformed character from her limited appearances. There's a lot potential room for her to be realistic and individualistic.

Sunset! by far. I hated her in EQG 1 due to being a horribly cliche alpha bitch, without any real delving into her past as celestia's old student, which was the only half way interesting part of her personality. For all intents and purposes she might as well just have been a normal human who stumbled into equestria for how much her backstory came up in the first movie.

She was dull, unlikeable, and cliche. Even her demon form couldn't save her. Second movie, she got some real character development, started acting fleshed out and not cliched, and grew on me. I STILL think she's incredibly overrated given how her populatity exploded after "My past is not today" came out, but she's still better than adagio. Adagio is a great villain, no doubt, but sunset's better as a character IMO.

Ironically probably why Sunset satan will almost assuredly never get a toy-- Hasbro doesn't want to risk it making "Evilish" looking toys-- you can see that the villains following sunset are much more neutral or girly looking compared to sunset satan to allow for better toy sales. Midnight sparkle for example doesn't look evil at all.

:sunshower: Sunset Shimmer. Always and forever. :sunshower:

 That said, they did a real, real good job on having the Dazzling's animation be super enticing, and the songs really catchy. :wau: They were Sirens in the truest sense of the word.

Well Sunset Shimmer is a good addition to the main cast, and I especially like how they made her a scientist, but I have stronger feelings towards Adagio Dazzle. I really appreciate, strong willed girls and I like her confidence, charisma and deep voice. Also the hip swaying...

I think Adagio was a more evil villain, much more threatening, had a wicked head voice,

Sunset Shimmer was just a bit of a meany. But, she has much more to offer as a main cast member. In RR she's smart, emotional and genuine.

I'm not a medical expert, psychologist, psychiatrist, teacher or love doctor. Take my words with a pinch of salt, yeah?

I am an experienced cook, musician and care worker though, so that's something.
