Do you unbox your merch?

Yeah, of course.  How can you play with them, display them attractively, or even see them if you don't unbox them?  I mean, I usually get plushies, and they don't usually even come in boxes.  To me, no offense, but it seems like if you don't unbox them you're just into it for having a high-status collection or to re-sell high.  I guess I can see storing the packaging if you have a space somewhere.

I love my ponies!  I even cut off the sewn-in tags on plushies.  I would'nt want a Hasbro/ Aurora tag growing out of my leg!  Hug 'em, carry 'em around.  Arrange them nicely.  It's not really mine if I can't touch it!

For me the value of the merch is what's inside and how I can interact with it. So yes, I not only "unbox" my merch, but I cut tags off of them as well, and then initiate cuddling. I bought the poster book that has 40 posters in it. I removed 3 of them and they are on my wall (held up by magnets so I dont punch holes in them). This is so I can enjoy them every time I walk in to my room. My plushies are tag-less, so I can enjoy snuggling with them more.

To me they are an investment in my happiness, not my wallet.

If it's not a collector's edition/item, I don't see it worth keeping in box unless I'd bought it specifically for that. To me, having a Funko figure of my favorite pony on my desk it worth more than hoping it with be worth two dollars more in a decade.

I'm currently collecting the POP Figures and haven't unboxed any of them. They're all nicely displayed in their boxes. Part of me really does want them out though. Maybe I'll just have to double hehe any excuse! :-)

This is true as well, some things look better in their displays!

I'm with you there I mean how odd would be to just hold a box with a pony in it and if I keep it in a box I feel it might as well be in a store.
