Why do human inventions show up in Equestria? Pinkie Pie is the answer

Have you ever pondered how ponies got the idea to make tools that were clearly designed for human hands? Have you wondered why there is tires buried under layers of dirt but there are no cars to be seen, instead there are only horse drawn carriages and trains? Why would Ponies invent instruments like Cellos, Pianos, and Trombones when their hooves clearly aren't meant for their designs? 

 

Now you could say "Its cause it's a post apocolyptic earth n'stuff! That's all human tech from when we nuked ourselves to oblivion like in Adventure time!"

 

Or you could say "Its a God damn Kid show and they felt like it!" (which is basically the true answer but who likes that kinda crap? Nobody! that's who dagnabbit!) 

 

But we aren't going for those answers here today, nope, cause the first one has its own glaring reasons on why its false (THE SUN REVOLVES AROUND THE PLANET ON THE SAME PATH AS THE MOON, AND THEY ARE BOTH WAY TINIER THAN OUR SUN AND MOON, so there's that) and the other is just a killjoy in how easy it is. 

 

No, We aren't going for the popular answers today, we are going to be using ONE Pony to explain everything! 

 

 

Now I'm sure you are all aware of our 4th wall breaking party pony over here. Thing about her is, she is not only aware of of all of us, but she is also aware of alternate dimensions that exist in the shows canon (and probably fanon but I'm not getting into that). In both Equestria Girls movies for example Pinkie Pie was able to rail off exactly what happened in the other dimension, both the pony version and the human version. 

 

What we can infer out of this is that the minds of Pony Pinkie and Human Pinkie are intricately and consciously connected to each other, and if you take the comics into account, than you could branch it further to say that Pinkie is connected to all the parallel versions of herself. This might go a long way to explain her many varied talents and abilities, as her experiences are probably as infinite as the potential dimensions her persona inhabits. 

 

But, you may be starting to ask, what does this inter-dimensional hive minded party pony have to do with hammers and Tubas existing in equestria? Well What if I were to tell you that ALL The characters in the show are connected in this fashion, but on a SUBconscious level, while Pinkie is connected on a Conscious level.

 

What would that mean for these human tools in the pony world? Think about it, If a human came up with an invention or a story, and he is connected to his other dimensional counterparts on a subconscious level, would it not stand to reason that that inventions concept bled over to the other side and came into the pony versions mind? Concepts of the tools and their purposes would come into the collective unconscious of the pony world, and they would try to bring them into  reality as best they could even though some of the ideas (like cars and tires) just didn't pan out because they didn't have enough info or knowledge of its design to go on. With time flowing differently between the human and Pony dimensions, the rapid fire emergence of technological advancements like Video games and cranes would pop up and give a very disjointed conglomeration of technological advancements, which is absolutely present in Equestrian culture.

 

Them being connected on a subconscious level allows for variations on personalities and experiences while having relatively similar personalities. Pinkie in this scenario would technically be One mind in many many bodies, kinda like to many pinkie pies but strewn throughout the multiverse. She is the human and the pony and every Pinkie in between, however many there are. Is it any wonder that things like inter-dimensional portals and time travel don't phase her at all, since she already does that on a mental level every second of every day, keeping records on everything and everyone till she knows all and sees all, a hive mind spanning across time space and the multiverse that knows you stare at her through your televisions and monitors and smart phones  

 

 

But hey, that's just a theory, a Poneh theory, thanks for reading.

I had a kind of theory that humanesque stuff like beds are actually really recent in the ponyverse (a new trend in Canterlot that's kind of spread down the mountainside into Ponyville)... And it's a result of some kind of subtle dimensional mashup that's going on with the EQG world and Equestria. Probably a bad thing. Worlds colliding and influencing each other and stuff. Like what was happening in Reflections.

And yet, for some reason, Equestrians still somehow cannot gift themselves with what is hands down the greatest innovation from the human dimension, and probably not beyond their realm of technological possibility:

Someone really needs to bring this to Equestria already so they can finally do away with those overly obnoxious bits, which must be absolute hell to carry around, particularly for creatures who don't even have hands.

Perhaps they didn't. Perhaps it was some other race that has hands that invented them. Like minotaurs, diamond dogs, dragons, centaurs or cyclopean satyrs.

What nations have paper money? Money in the US is made out of a special kind of cloth like substance.

 

 

To address this post, the reason is that the animators and writers have lack of inspiration and desire to make the world of Equestria unique on its own merits. It's the reason why technologies are seen in passing a lot. And why things like marriages are based off of the western culture in our own world instead of being some kind of unique pony institution. If there was an in universe explanation then perhaps I could buy it but I would have preferred that the universe of Equestria be made whole.

How about we shave a few pounds off this debate with a good ol’ Occam’s razor?

 

Want a simple yet lore-related answer? Griffons. Just think about it: griffons have claws with opposable thumbs, good monocular vision, intelligence, a pony-like social structure, but lack magic that would make their inventions tick. Of all creatures inside the Ponyverse, griffons are the most similar to humans in both their nature and ability, so it’s only logical to assume that all objects not made for hooves have been invented for and by griffon claws.

I like this theory. I wonder if some of the tools in the human world were also inspired on a subconscious level by inhabitants of the pony dimension. Of course because of the boring real reason you mentioned, it will be hard to find items designed for hoofs in the human world so all I can think of at the moment is saddles. I saw a post recently that wondered why saddles exist in Equestria. The general consencious was fashion. Now I'm thinking that saddles were invented by ponies for fashion and their human counterparts interpreted the design for the purpose of riding animals.

 

And perhaps coins were also invented by ponies. Because of the way small, hard items tend to get stuck in hooves, I think it makes more sense for the ponies to use coin bits instead of paper currency.

Discord is a strange one. He doesn't seem to have a copy of himself anywhere in the other dimensions, even the EQG world there are dolls of him but he doesn't have a human equivalent (until proven otherwise). Basically He seems like he is a step removed from reality itself, while Pinkie is still apart of it although at a different level than other ponies (according to the theory anyway). He doesn't seem to have a baring on the theory because he's kind of just there.  

 

No question that he has far more control over his abilities than Pinkie does, but that isn't really the topic at hand either.

While this theory is interesting, I think it's more likely that they've developed similar technology to us, but still having it different. For instance, tires could have had an entirely different purpose in their world. Also, they've simply developed those things with the idea of their hooves in mind, and managed to use them without hands. Or at least that's the way I see it.
