Would you have closure if Equestria Girls ended as a Trilogy?

I would absolutely NOT have closure. Simply put, Friendship Games didn't "end" on an ending note. There was no proper closure on many things. Earth Twilight joined the group, and that was about it. What's next for Sunset Shimmer on her quest to learn about friendship? Is there another human Sunset Shimmer somewhere in that world? And will the Sunset that we know ever return to Equestria, and if so, will she stay there? Until we get more answers like these, I will not have closure, and I wouldn't accept FG as the last Equestria Girls. The way it ended so casually just begged for more. There needs to be AT LEAST one more movie, and luckily there is another on the way.

Yeah I would love to see her human counterpart and see more that we haven't yet seen.

I have mixed feelings. I feel as though this trilogy was an ending in a way...for Sunset.

Her arc is now complete. Equestria girls was created BECAUSE of her. In every EG movie, she has indirectly been the main focus all along. Not Twilight, the mane six....it is her. What I wouldn't want is to never see her again though.

As far as the EG franchise...I think they have enough juice for a few more movies or at least one season and then that's it unless they build more on the writing. There are a lot of things unexplained and a lot more new characters that deserve proper development. If they end it, I wouldn't be satisfied.

On the other hand, it seems to be a lot of people in the media bashing heavily on EG because of high expectations on realism. It's starting to get out of hand, so if they do end EG soon, I hope they at least cover a few things to get the brony community to calm down. It's a shame though...EG has a lot more.potential. They just need to improve on the writing and it could be just as a good as FiM

Oh no no no, of course not. Like Black Water said, the possibilities with Equestria Girls are literally endless. They've only scraped the surface of what they can really do with the human world.

Probably no . Because there's still a lot more to explore within the human world .Even though Sunset's character arc already gone full circle , we haven't see yet more interaction with Human Twilight. What about the human Sunset ? That probably gonna remain unknown for the time being ...... I personally felt that it really need a bit of story or continuation so that at least the series ended with a proper conclusion .

Certainly not with how the third film ended, even if you disregard the Stinger. There's just too many key points that remain unanswered. Sure, Sunset Shimmer has come full circle now, but EQG has become a lot more than just her story alone. There would be too much missed opportunity for them to treat it as such and have ended it there. There's still much to be told from that world with what we've seen.

I'd be satisfied. That's not saying much though. The last movie (FG) took every bit of enthusiasm I got for the series and dropped it down to sub EQG 1 levels. So I'd be perfectly happy if they canned it.

The thing is, there's virtually nothing new they could add to this setting from a Magical girl perspective that wouldn't 100% have to come from equestria (meaning it could have been done in FIM instead).
And for slice of life, yeah, we could do that, except they seem to have zero interest in developing the other 5 of the mane six as anything but cardboard copies of the ponies in FIM, so it doesn't look like we'll have any personality worldbuilding going on outside of Twilight and sunset, making it pretty stale.

Eh, just let it end. The path they chose for EQG was about Sunset's path in life, which is fine and all, but they kind of just closed it pretty well. Let it die.

Actually I want the series to end so Hasbro can dedicate their time to only ponies.

hah, good luck there. For all we know hasbro's going to end the show with the movie :P
They certainly seem to be aiming for wrapping up all lose ends lately in a nice clean manner.

So with or without EQG, things aren't so sure for FIM. Heck, I actually think EQG will outlast FIM by a bit, as far as content production goes.

I could care less if there wasn't another installment.

The Equestria Girl movies are terrible in my opinion.

hah, agreed. Its nice to see that I'm not the only one for once. (seen nothing but praise for it on other sites)

Closure, Equestria Girls doesn't give us anything much to need closure about, it makes no promises. And I would not consider it being closured at all either. More like lack of closrue, and closure do not exist in the realm of Equestria Girls.

Yeah I agree I want to see more of the human world in the sense of does the human world have equivalents to Sweet Apple Acres, and Everfree Forest etc?

  • 2 weeks later...

As it stands...not yet. The canceled subplot with Sunset wanting to return to Equestria should really be addressed first, I think. With that done, and her resolving to stay in the human world (which she will, because she can't be allowed to influence the show itself) I could consider the story arc closed. Before then, I don't think the series should end yet.
