What don't you like?

Not enough AJ, and I say this because she only really had one episode where she was the sole focus, and that was Applebuck Season.

Sure, she was big in Look Before You Sleep and Fall Weather Friends, but she shared the spotlight between Rarity and RD respectively. AJ needs more solo episodes, eeyup.

I could say the same thing for Dash too. After that I got nothin'.

I thought she had a great role in The Show Stoppers, especially when outside the treehouse listening to the singing when suddenly Scootaloo starts up instead of Sweetie Belle and she's all in shock and presses her face up against the window. The next moment she puts her hooves right through it, so no window afterall? Her interactions with Applebloom tend to be very well done

Didn't like Owl's Well that Ends Well very much. Might have something to do with that owl not being an enjoyable character... at all.

Personally I rather liked Owlowiscious, but the fundamental and undeniable truth of your username means I am entirely incapable of arguing with anything you say.

One thing that irked me about the series was the depiction of certain characters who were meant to represent certain real-world cultures and societies, namely Zecora - who represents traditional African societies - and the Buffalo - who represent traditional Native Americans. I'm not sure whether this affected anyone else, but I felt both were based too much on stereotypes and seemed more like caricatures rather than multifaceted individuals in their own right.

Yeah, I suppose that is true. And I also love AJ's interactions with Applebloom, as seen in Show Stoppers, Call of the Cutie, and Bridle Gossip. I hope the two of them have plenty of screentime in Sisterhooves Social. I know the spotlight's on Rarity and Sweetie Belle, but here's hoping for a good one. =D

Actually I rather liked those. Regarding Zecora I think in order for the message to work you had to play to the stereotype otherwise the audience wouldn't understand how appearances are deceptive. Also I thought the buffalo were cool, and how both sides were completely intractable matches what you see in the Old North-West with the Shawnee etc and settler encroachment versus right to hunt. Of course, this is Equestria, so there was a solution of some sort at the end :)

I don't like that Rarity knew how much winning the best young flyer competition meant for Rainbow Dash in episode 'Sonic Rainboom' but she got too carried away with her wings that she decided to join.

I dislike the lack of any good male characters. There is one. Spike. Almost every other guy who has ever appeared sucked (*Coughcoughsipscoughsnailscough*) or only had one line. I know this isn't exactly made for us, but can we at least get a love interest or something? I don't really know.

Totally seconded. I understand that Hasbro wants to sell pink pony toys to little girls, but we (the generation that has money to spend, unlike their usual audience) will most certainly buy bronies!

I've never been a fan of Applejack or the Cutie Mark Crusaders in general.

But you're Rainbow Dash, you're Applejack's best friend!!! Or were you just pretending...

My oh my, this topic hasn't been touched in a long time!

Aside from that, I really, Really, don't like the soft palate (back of the mouth) or their uvula (dangly thing at the back of the mouth).  I have zero clue why I don't; I guess it's just a personal thing.

On the subject of the CMC, my beef is that they are pushing those three into way too many episodes.

A side episode here and there is good, but the team is trying really hard to squeeze them into episodes where they don't fit. For instance, their role in the Discord two-parter was awkward at best and the worst scene of the Season 2 pilot.

I have no issue with them in their character specific episodes, but they don't need to become regulars.

I didn't want to say much on the CMC because it seems lots of people like them but I really don't like the CMC episodes, they just feel like fillers put in just to add more episodes for the season (I'm looking at you season 3). They have appeared in about three episodes now with two of them as the main presentation. The idea is good because it presents lore of how characters were like before getting their cutie marks and it teaches values to kids that haven't hit puberty yet. But they're boriiiinnng. :(

The confusion of Celestia and Luna's manes. Oh, and also the pony's heads, actually. Females have that round-ish shape while males seem to have them as well, at a point.   Odd thing to dislike, but it's just one of those small peeves.

Hmmm, what don't I like...had to think about that one for a while. I don't like Celestia but I've been over that a dozen times. :P So what else...

I don't like it when the show uses certain species as obvious stand-ins for ethnic groups, i.e. Zecora and the buffalo. (Even though I enjoyed Bridal Gossip and Over a Barrel.) Or when the parallels between pony cities and real-life cities are way too close, i.e. Babs' "New Yawk" accent. I want the show to stay a safe distance away from the real world, because that's what I'm escaping from when I watch it. ^^

I don't like Spike's inconsistent character development, the Crystal Empire or Magic Duel. I dislike the "Merriwether" writing style we've seen a few times: crass depictions of Ponyville, having the ponies do nonsensical things just to advance the plot and such. It takes MLP way too close to "just another cartoon" territory. It's NOT just another cartoon.

That's about it. Time will tell whether I like the season finale.

I don't like snips and snails, I don't care about their part in the show, but I really don't like their color scheme and voices. Ugh.

aside from that one well documented thing that I don't like but we already have another subforum for, it's the inconsistent writing for Spike.  Either he's mature and level headed (Lesson Zero) or he's a bumbling idiot (Spike at Your Service).  Possibly why he's not one of my favorite characters; in fact, Spike episodes are among my least favorite in the show.

I don't like the inconsistent writing for Spike

I don't like that Twilight is the "Main Character" even if I like her personality and development a lot.

I don't like how a lot of Season 3 reduced Pinkie Pie to a caricature of herself.

I don't like how moral ambiguity is used to villainize positive characters and defend generally negative ones.

I don't like it when fans look down on others for their opinions. Condescending behavior is a big way to lose points with me.

I (Mostly) don't like how the Mane Six were portrayed in The Mysterious Mare Do Well.

I don't like how baby ponies look. They creep me out, and their regular designs are infinitely cuter.

I don't like the general lack of positive and competent male characters.

I don't really like Snips and Snails xP Trixie could have replacement fanboys for her and I wouldn't really mind. I find Snails more 'offensive' than Derpy by a whole lot more and yet he didn't get removed :/

Plus they're both pretty annoying, I can't really find their humor when I see their scenes...

Season 1 was the only season I actually REALLY liked. That season in particular is the only one that didn't portray Rainbow Dash as a douchebag whose personality was essentially "I'm not doing this, I'm too awesome to be doing this, you're all girly pieces of shit.."

- Most of the earlier Cutie Mark Crusaders episodes.  I didn't start liking them until Ponyville Confidential.  I don't mind that they haven't gotten their cutie marks yet.  I think one of them should get one that is what you'd expect and at least one should get one totally unexpected.  Apple Blooms cutie mark could just be apples and I'd be fine with that, but after Sleepless in Ponyville, I hope Scootaloo's isn't just a freaking scooter.  She only uses the scooter cause she can't fly yet.

- Twilight going crazy in Lesson Zero.  I just find mental breakdowns disturbing, not funny.  I also didn't like Pinkie's in Party of One, but I guess that's ok cause she's Pinkie and it makes more sense.  I'll admit Fluttershy yelling "YOU WILL ALL LOVE ME!" in The Best Night Ever was funny.

- The pie fight in Over a Barrel

- Everything in A Dog and Pony Show

- That horrid commercial jingle in the theme

- I used to hate the word cutie mark but I've gotten over it.  Termonology in general's kindof annoying sometimes.

Still love the show of course!
