gaming Halo 5: Guardians, is anyone planning on getting it?

Even if forge is amazing, it doesn't excuse it not being there. What if they had instead delayed something like campaign?

People'd be a lot more upset, yeah? Or would they just excuse it with the MCC again?

The phrase "another MCC" shouldn't even exist, the MCC was a cheap cash-in by Microsoft, and was considered the nail in Halo's coffin by many.

Split-screen removed may not bother you, but it's a huge step back for Halo as a franchise.

BTB should be in the game at launch, it isn't unfinished like Forge, and taking away content to force players to try out Warzone isn't the way to go about it. What if Warzone turns out to suck, and BTB fans have nowhere to go? They'll probably just go play Battlefront, ripping away a chunk of the Halo 5 playerbase, leaving their new mode dead and playerless. Will there even be a point to adding in BTB then?

I'm excited AF for H5, but 343i is doing some risky backwards stuff that just can't be overlooked. :/

Right where to begin BTB coming post launch is just 7 days so it is nothing not like you got to be waiting a full year. Be patient and wait a bit try something new cause I bet in the fist week multiplay is not the first thing on your mind.

Removing split screen is a hugh step forward as finding games with teams of guests is as annoying as anything and they always suck. So removing it ballances multiplayer a lot more as there will be half the noobs And besides lan parties were always better than play on and we don't see many of them any more no body complained about that in fact no one cared because there is now online play so you can play with friends anywhere.

Forge post launch makes sense because forge is not a feature in game any more it is a dev kit bassically and dev kits always come out post launch. And think of it like this game comes out now when only 30% of players get it then at Christmas when the other 70% will be getting it and by this point everything major would be in the game. Besides 343 know what they are doing.

I have decided that I am going to pre-order this tonight, digitally so I will have it downloaded. :3 The more I think about this game, the more excited I get, the gameplay from the beta was awesome and I have a feeling that has been enhanced since then too. Not sure what the progression system is like at this point in the game, haven't found that out but I hope it has longevity like Halo Reach in that regard.

If anyone wants to add me on Xbox One to play this when it comes out, my gamertag is on my profile. ^__^

To be fair, a lot of the longevity seems to come from the REQ system. Considering every month there adding new REQs, AKA, new weapon variants/skins, new armour variants/skins, even new vehicles/variants that you can unlock. Thats where the longevity will be for me! :D

I am looking forward to it, though I still have reservations. I'll probably get it a couple weeks after release, but I'm not going to buy it on launch day.

Is anyone interested in the Spartan Companies? I just joined one started by a brony on another forum, but beyond finding people to play with, I don't really see the appeal. I can't figure out if they're supposed to be for common interests, styles of play, skill levels, or just ways to gather your friends. Restricting players to one makes some sense, but I still have no idea what to expect from that end.

Thoughts?

I've gotta keep on moving.
I got troubles on my mind.

It's basically create your own clan and have a place on the website that has a nice clan page and clan forums for you. So style and all that is the specific clans prerogative. It does not go only these people can play with these people you choose what clan you would like to join based on style etc or create your own for what you want.

As a side-note, I wish Bungie would go ahead and give me the Halo games on the PC already.

Well it's Microsoft you want to be asking, considering its no longer Bungie's franchise. They may have once made the games, but Microsoft has been the owner of the Halo brand since around 2005. It's why 343i is able to continue making Halo despite Bungie now working on Destiny.

*sigh* Destiny......heh

Well, Halo Wars 2 is coming to PC as well as Xbox when it's released. There's a good chance that after that, we may see more multiplat releases like that in the future. It's Windows 10 exclusive though, of course.

Not sure how anyone could like Destiny that much but I digress. (I for one despise everything that game stands for)

I can agree with the other stuff about Halo 5 though, I am gonna be doing the same thing, though doing it alone. I am gonna be waiting all Monday in anticipation. c: Honestly, that is one of my favorite feelings, positive anticipation.

You're not the only one. Destiny is one big middle finger to gamers.

And the director of Bungie blatantly called FPS style games like Doom, Bioshock and others outdated and not wanted anymore. That's complete bullshit.

you say that, but look at all the new fps games (besides battlefront)

every single one has taken concepts from destiny. you might not like the game, but it rocked the fps world to the core mechanics :P

Like what? Just curious :P

I mean, destiny got a lot of it's mechanics from previous fps' and I'd still say Titanfall is the key player in how fps games have changed this generation :D

Well, first out of the gate is rechargeable attacks with lots of power, supers. These are all being implemented into games, mainly blops 3.

Halo has a couple of special abilities it took from the different classes.

I feel titanfall set the standard for how high def fast paced fps shooters should work, and wall running, because wall running walks. the burn cards tho, i really dont care for that much.

While not exactly the same, Crysis had the implementation of rechargeable attacks/powers in the form of Camo/Increased Armour/Stronger Melee/Bigger Jump.

While I could agree on the Halo idea, it seems difficult for me to imagine it was an idea taken from Destiny considering Halo 5 has been in development years before Destiny's release and from the very start back in 2012 they already had the basic outline of the different spartan abilities, which are simply taken out of the books in the extended universe. They may seem similar, but in concept, both Destiny and Halo 5's abilities are unique to their respective games and not inspired by one another :3

The burn cards from Titanfall, I feel, inspired the REQ cards in Halo 5. They work similarly but play a bigger overall role in the game.

:P

I would get Halo 5 and Xbox One if the community wasn't broken beyond repair and I stopeped Halo @ 4 for that very reason. The Halo community as of now is just a bunch people crying, yelling, and/or bickering. So yea Im not getting it

I struggle to enjoy Halo or even enjoy the lead up to Halo 5 because of how toxic the community is nowadays. It's literally about 3 factions which are constantly fighting each other over everything, it's vile.

I just never liked the idea of burn cards, and I feel they limit you to much

I love being able to switch between 10 different guns mid match if I need to

I totally  agree with this it's very toxic, cant they just move on? I mean there are better games out there and better sci-fi series too. They claim they want to "save" Halo, but in reality there doing the opposite, killing it faster. I was part of the CHC (Classic Halo Community) that lasted from 2001-2012 and it  was loyal to a fault. The NHC (New Halo Community) is the polar opposite.
