technology What is my best connection option?

I got myself a PS4 and monitor. I have them installed in my room. But there lies a problem: the Wi-Fi connection. The modem, which gives us Wi-Fi and television, is installed on second floor of our apartment, in the opposite side from my room (which is on first floor). While my laptop, smartphone and tablet get adequate connection, PS4 needs special treatment. And by that I mean the Wi-Fi reception is not good enough for it even to have a stable connection. Hay, even test connection fails, despite 2 connection waves out of 3 (indicator). Unfortunately, the relocation of modem is out of question, because it is connected to TV. Is there any other way to get my PS4 have connection, aside from drilling holes with long cables and setting up second modem?

I would say your best bet would probably be running a long cable from the modem to your PS4. It's not an elegant solution, but it's probably the best bet. They also sell wireless repeaters, though I've never used one so I can't say for certain how well it would work. Basically it's something that you plug into a wall jack that extends the wireless range. http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wi-Fi-Extender-Essentials-EX2700/dp/B00L0YLRUW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445211102&sr=8-1&keywords=wireless+repeater Something like that. Of course, a wired connection is always going to be more stable.

Not elegant at all, man. I forgot to mention stairs. Is there a way to bridge it, or from antenna outlet (or however its called) in my room? The best currently option for me is to bring it up and put it on the table. But I want to play in my room.

Well, you can drill holes in the floor and ceiling to run it through, though you'd have to know where specifically to drill. That's what we had to do for ours, and we just called a guy from the cable company to do it. You could also install clamps to the walls and ceilings to secure the cable so it's not loose and in the way (I think they're called cable clips?). Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Your-Cable-Store-White-RG6/dp/B007TMYTK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445213103&sr=8-1&keywords=cable+clip Though for these you should probably have a stud finder so you know where to attach them into the walls.

Is moving your ps4 out of the question? That would be the easiest solution . If you can't do that, then you would need so find some way to use a cable. Are your walls drywall? It's not easy, but you can run cables through the inside of drywall. I did it with my TV (however that was on the same floor). Just do research before you try this. You don't want useless holes in your wall.

I don't really own the place, so drillin' holes is outta question. And I don't want to move PS4, because I want it to be in my room. Especially after today's small incident with apt owner's dog that nearly destroyed my monitor, after couple of days of my PS4 being up there. So I said "NO. NOT GONNA LAST ANY LONGER." and brought it back to my secure room. Anything else?

Well, then the best options I can think of would be to move the router (which you said you don't want to do), use cables (but that seems like it would be hard if you can't drill holes), or get a stronger router/wifi network (which are not cheap). The only other advice I can give is to try making sure that there are no other electronics interfering with the signal (I know some cordless electronics can do this). I wish you luck with your problem.

What about powerline adapters?
