The weight of her emotions enhances not only the music, but its soul, too. There's a reason why she won a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical a few years ago. Our Town: Inspired by WWII propaganda music, this song epitomizes Stardust's evil and provides a false sense of equality in the cult. Everything about it makes you shudder, especially "You can't have a nightmare if you never dream." The Smile Song: The main reasons are obvious. It's so well-composed, makes you feel good, and captures the pure essence of the show. One more obviously influenced by a particular musical (to say the least) than the other two. Lol. That makes them more appealing to me personally than the standard pop that most of the rest of the songs in the show are. Everything needs more woodwind!
