Accommodation Info Thread

Hello everyone!

It looks like people are a little concerned about accommodation options around our new venue, so we've put together this useful post to help you out. Although there are 3 Premier Inns (3*) and a Travelodge (2*) on the Trafford Park site, these aren't the only options!

First of all, you can play with our interactive map at https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zwKySZNdM2X8.k8OKbWeF5csM which shows nearby accommodation options and those around the Manchester area.

Use your mouse scroll-button to zoom in and out, or click and drag to move around. Select an icon for information about it; or use the menu on the left to show a menu of Convention Locations, Places to Visit and Accommodation options that you can select.

We have added some transport options below, but for a wider range of information, please visit our Transportation Info thread.

BY CAR
It's important to remember that the venue has FREE parking, so if you can drive, or can share a car with friends who are also going to stay at the same accommodation, then this gives you some easy accommodation options in the nearby suburbs.

EXAMPLES
If you have a car, or can get a lift with friends who are staying at the same accommodation, why not look at some places a little further afield, but only a quick blast up the motorway, a couple of junctions.

Just beyond the Venue:
Towards Barton-upon-Irwell is the 1* Rockhouse Hotel. It's local pub accommodation, very much not fancy, but cheap as chips. First come, first served I expect since it only has a few rooms.

Heading North:
M60 Junction 12 with the M602 takes you along towards Manchester. Come off at M602 Junction 2 for Ellesmere Park and Salford. There a number of small privately owned hotels and guest houses: the 4* Ascott Hotel, the 3* Ivy Mount Guest House, the 3* Weaste Hotel, the 3* Trivelles Hotel and the 2* Beaucliffe Hotel.

Worsley at M60 Junction 13 has the 3* Novotel Manchester West and the 4* Marriott Worsley Park.

M60 Junction 14 with the A580 leads towards Pendlebury which has the 3* Isis Hotel & Restaurant, and the 3* Premier Inn Swinton (both off the A666 to Clifton), and the 3* Hello Hotel (Swinton Park, off the Worsley Rd).

Heading South and East:
M60 Junction 8 A6144 to Carrington, there is the 3* Premier Inn Sale.

M60 Junction 7 South into Sale there are a number of small privately owned hotels and guest houses: the 4* Belforte House Hotel, the 3* Lennox Lea apartments and rooms and the 1* Amblehurst Hotel (all three of which are also within walking distance of the Sale Metrolink station); as well as the 4* Brooklands Lodge, 4* Cornerstones Guest House, and the 4* Eskdale Lodge.

M60 Junction 7 North into Stretford there is the 3* Thistlewood Hotel, the 2* Greatstone Hotel
a little further along the A56 continuing on to Old Trafford and you'll come across the 4* Old Trafford Lodge (at the cricket oval), 3* Hotel Football (outside the gates of Man Utd), 3* Premier Inn Old Trafford, 3* Trafford Hall Hotel, and the 2* Chesters Hotel

On the edge of the City:
Try out the 3* Campanile Hotel, on Regent Rd, just off the A57(M) Manchester inner ring-road; or perhaps the 3* Stay Inn on A6042 Trinity Way, near the junction with the A6041 Blackfriars Rd. There is also the 4* Ainscow and the Salford Arms Pub, both near Salford Central Station (which are also near Trinity Way, but which could be walked to from the station).

BY BUS
Lots of the accommodation options are within reach of a bus directly from the venue. The buses run every 15-20 minutes and run super-early and super-late. So you can attend the whole convention without having to worry about missing the last bus back.

The 250 Bus is the last bus from Trafford (near the venue) to Piccadilly Gardens in central Manchester. The last bus on weekdays and Saturday is 00:10. This means that you can get back into the city after the Summer Sun Celebration which finishes at 00:00.
After the convention finishes at 22:00 on the Sunday, the last bus is the 250 Bus at 22:33.

So don't worry! You can book a hotel beyond the immediate environs of the venue, and still get back afterwards.

BY METRO
While the metro doesn't go to the Trafford Centre directly, it can let you link up with the bus service so that you can widen your accommodation options out across the city.
