I would like to address the rest of you, if I may take a simple moment of your time?

 

I have a confession to make; I have NOT been enjoying this RP for some time now.

 

I have written long and detailed posts, have tried to work within my character's boundaries, and have attempted to make Twitch/Grant important to this storyline... yet I feel like I have failed to do this.  If you went back and removed EVERY ONE of my posts, it wouldn't change the story one iota; that makes me feel useless and worthless as a roleplayer.

 

But I am willing to concede that maybe I'm just not seeing it.  I'm FAR from perfect, and I know that sometimes I can get rather irritated at the drop of a hat, if it's a sore subject with me already... and I can't see the forest for the trees, at times.

 

So, I would wish to ask each and every one of you an important question:

 

Should I continue to be a part of this roleplay?

 

I have already come close to quitting MANY times, and I feel like I've lost just about every scrap of interest in carrying on with a character that feels like they have ZERO affect on anything.

 

Please tell me - would you want me to simply walk away from this to let you all have fun without having to read through my posts, or would you rather I continue on with the possibility of being more involved?

 

I'm trying this instead of simply dropping out, as I was only a button click away from earlier this morning - a number of folks here have shown me a great deal of care, and I feel that just dropping out would be somewhat rude to the others who invested their time into speaking to me.  So... this, instead.

I get where you're coming from, and I've had a few moments like that too. I think the character concept is great, and you play it well. I think that veering away from a Save-the-World vibe would do a lot of players some good, personally. I've played Superhero RP's before, but I figured this one was more "My Life as a Teenage Robot", and less "Rise of Apocalypse".

 

I still like the idea of VLAD and Twitch working together, TBH, even if it doesn't involve end of the world stuff.

We talked about this earlier. It's a matter of gettign the story moving so we all feel like our input matters. It's just a slow moving RP. Some of us have stuff IRL that demands our attention. As much as it hinders an RP, I can't fault them for it. 

 

I'm actually curious about what you wrote previously. It got Mentis's approval, so it must've been good.

I do have a plan on how to wrap this arc up and put an end to the whole "save the world from pony ultron" shtick, and move back on track to character driven SOL.

Am I the only one that would like a reformed villain ending to this story arc? Mostly cause our villain isn't really all that evil

 

But that would put an end to things to quickly and squander RP potential. That's an issue with the show in that villains are turned with a single episode. Realistically, these things take time. They're villains for a reason. Luster is a villain for a reason. It's gonna take time for her to come to grips and see another way, as well as dealing with the multiple issues that lead her to this path. 

 

But you are right. The clash will be epic.

Oh no no no, I definitely don't mean right away on the spot how the show does it where it's 2 episodes. I agree and mean gradually. I just don't want her to get the actual Ultron treatment at the end where Ultron is just labeled as un-reformable and always attempted to be deleted at every turn. She doesn't deserve this.

 

 Agreed. She'll get the treatment where she makes a difference. Whether that's as a 'good guy' or she returns to her villainous ways is yet to be seen. But yeah, the villain of the week format Ultron was given in the comics won't work here.

That's it, I'm out. I'm done tap-dancing around all the god modding going on here. I've been trying to AVOID this ridiculous "super powered super intelligent robot gods who are centuries old and SOMEHOW super technologically advanced and can do anything they want to anyone anywhere at any time" deal.

 

I mean, what the actual FUCK do you all expect any other character to be able to contribute? Hmm? What, pray tell, is the point of being in this game if there is LITERALLY nothing anyone can do?

 

As much fun as "desperately trying to think of ANY fucking way to not get dragged into this" is... well it isn't. At all. Nor is it fun being one of maybe three characters that ISN'T "ancient-immortal-and somehow simultaneously super advanced because reasons nobody really bothers explaining". I was under the impression this was a slice of life RP, not a superpowers or mechas or whatever end-of-the-world battle robot thing, like Big O or Pacific Rim.

Dude, I'm trying to get us back on that track. Give us some more time. Bronislav, Mentis & I have talked this out, and we are making the move back to SOL.  And if it helps, the amount of god tier bots is gonna go down shortly. I have plans for this, new characters I want to introduce. Old ones I want brought back. And they don't exactly have a place in the current story. Which is why I want to wrap this arc up. Minimize Twi's involvement. Get Luster back on a level playing field with Everypony else. Padding out these climactic battles with more stuff like campus shenanigans, like romances, like arguing with teachers over semantics, like frat parties, like intellectual discussions over individuality in the cyberized world,  like 12 pages about tooth brushing. That was fun wasn't it? 

 

If something in my post (I presume it was my post) was the final straw, I'll change it. Luster does not have to be there. I thought it woudl be a good idea that she be involved in yours, Rand & Slavs side story. I'm willing to retract that. 

 

We're making the move now. It's no longer fun. I see that. Let me, the Co-GM, fix that. 

 

Also, I nerfed most of my last post if it'll help things.

Thank you for coming back Cap. Seriously. Dunno who would report your post, but the post seems to be gone now so same outcome I guess.

 

The transfer procedure doesn't have to be permanent or fatal to the organic, but Grant is kind of in bad shape anyway so pretty sure it would only work for him once and then his body would give out even if it didn't succeed. So however you feel like doing that, but Lab is describing her way of doing it. Assume there's multiple methods, and the characters just have to choose one that everyone can agree on.

Actually comma the one that came up with is pretty much exactly what I was thinking.

Yes. I think that it makes perfect sense that it would be a one-way trip, especially given Grant's health, and I had some ideas about how the Terran side would have to construct some device/technological doodad, while the Equestrian side had some kind of magical thingie.

I've just been slow. There's not a lot Emerald and Lektra can really do besides watch. It's basically all on you Denim to conclude this so we can get to the sequel.
