gaming Who would win in a fight?: Zangief vs. Heavy

So when I ask this question, I typically try to have the combatants have some kind of common theme or comparable spirit to their characters. In this case, I suppose it's fairly obvious, both are Russian supermen who are the big muscles and bigger heart to their respective friends and allies. Their methods of combat rely on enduring punishment and dealing it out in equal measure. What's more is that they are both card carrying members of the Soviet Union from when it still WAS the Soviet Union.

That being said they aren't exactly the same. The Heavy, though appearing simple minded, is actually a bit more intellectually inclined when not doing his job where Zangief, again not stupid but is more "proletariat" in his intellect to put it politely. Plus while Zangief has close ties to his government, often having meetings with its leader and being the representative of Russia on the World Warrior circuit, the Heavy busted out of a gulag and his father was a counter-revolutionary.

So if the two were to ever clash, for whatever reason you want to justify their conflict, who do you think would be victorious?

(And before anypony says it, think of how many rounds each member of the Team takes before dying, how often melee kills happen in TF2, and that Zangief is of similar build to the Heavy and the Heavy can take a massive number of shots from another Heavy's minigun before dying.)

Now all that being said, let's get ready to rumblllllllllllllllllllllllllle!

But does Zangief have the ability to maintain a pleasant conversation in the middle of his own vivisection?

However, he might have a chance if he used his secret attack... the reality-warping "Channel-Change Of Doom":

Don't forget, Heavy relies on Sasha and Sandvich first before resorting to his KGB. Zangief relies purely on his skills. Heavy is fat, slow and is in no shape to fight a war in reality. Zangief is a self-trained, bear-wrestling Siberian monster in a thong. So, Zangief.

Well see if heavy just so happens to eat a dalokohs bar......then every one of his hits would be critical, he can take out another heavy with his minigun in a split second O.O

So yea I don't think he would have any trouble if he ever got into a fight with Zangief

He can also defy simple physics and stuff.....this is a fantasy video game character we are talking about after all, anything could happen.

Oh and Zangief doesn't do equally physics defying stunts?

You do bring up a good point though, that the Heavy has items and methods of health recovery where Zangief only heals once a round is over and he's already either won or lost.

Well I didn't say the Heavy was without his weapons. That can be a factor of course as there is the medieval maps or what have you on TF2. It could also be a matter if those would be enough to stop Zangief, which it might not be depending on a number of factors.

Umm, Heavy's Dalakohs bar gives him +50 HP. His Buffalo Steak Sandvich give him crits, makes him more vulnerable to damage, and restricts him to melee.

Depends if appropriate items are allowed. If heavy is allowed his Sandvich and Sasha I can't see him losing but a straight up fist fight Gief has it won hands down. Given the premise I will assume cross overs are canon so given Street Fighter X Tekken is a thing Gief has fought Demon's, Ancient beings, a magic stretchy Indian, 3 palette swapped guys who can throw fireballs, bears and all manner of nonsense with his bare fists.

Heavy. Why?

Pow haha! You are ded, not big surprise.

You mean his taunt? That can be dodged easy.

We all know this won't end in a fight at all but rather some drunken russian dance competition. XD

Happens all the time on the TF2 servers, so you might actually be right.
