Should we have seen pony fusion by now?

Now, hold on. Before you grab your torches and pitchforks, just hear me out. It's not really a dues ex plot device, when you consider that the very portrayal of the mane 6 and their representation of the elements should ultimately lead to pony fusion.

Looking at the force of Rainbow Power, I know everyone hates it, but this was the closest we've seen to the 6's true power. Unlike every other instance when the physical element stones were used, thd rainbow we've always seen had 6 colors. One color for each color of the rainbow. But Rainbow power's rainbow, like Rainbow Rocks, had 7 "colors".

White.

And that is only present when all colors are united; before other colors of varying wavelengths pass through a prism and become visible as a rainbow.

But rainbow power- though present in the S4 finale, and RR, presented white light/ the truest form of unification of color/ elements of harmony, the mane 6 still had seperate forms; rather than being of one body and mind, in fusion and absolute harmony, as white light truly is before separating glad

Would this "harmonic convergence" something you'd want to see in later seasons?

What would you give the name of the super Neighan pony after all mane 6 fuse? Kakkatrot? Prism Pure? Lucifetlock?

When I saw this thread's name, my first thought was that it was referring to nuclear fusion, and I was going to say that maybe Equestria should focus on stabilizing it's level and distribution of existing technology before branching out into nuclear-generated power.

However, what you seem to be suggesting is some sort of Power Rangers/Megatron-esque melding of the Mane 6 into one, and I think that is a little silly. Combining them into a single entity, even temporarily, would defeat the message of the show. They are all different, but unite in their differences as friends to meet challenges. They do this while still remaining true to themselves. To wash all of that out by turning them into one giant pony would sap their greatest strength: their own personalities.

Well said.

I was never the friend of any kind of character fusion. It's an interesting concept IF done right but it almost never is. Imagine cease being an individual existence, even for a limited time and it creates a whole bunch of problems story-wise, aside from being horrifying as a concept in of itself. Think of all the implications. Playing such a huge concept only for the single individuals to combine their strength is extremely cheap and with the elements of harmony in action...well they did it already without melting into a single blob.

I don't think fusion should be a thing in this show. It just sounds like something out of DBZ or stevens Universe but  Idon't think it fits in MLP:FIM

DBZ-esque magic lazer battles and ponies getting slammed into mountains, put in concentration camp, brainwashed with communism ideals, etc. shouldn't fit in the pony universe, either, but lo and behold....

you're right. That's nothing like other characters from other shows who have to overcome their on differences, fighting together as individuals, having their own personality, but still needing to fuse to take on baddies even they can't take on as seperate individuals, even with the help of friends. Nope. Nothing like that at all.

Go home, Steven Universe fan. You're drunk.

While fusion is an interesting concept, and using it in fanfics is fair game... showing it in-show would go against the show's message: That we can all exist in harmony and be friends, even if we aren't the same. In fact, we SHOULDN'T be the same, as that would get in the way of friendship and fun, while also going against who you truly are inside.

I've never seen Steven Universe. It looks stupid. Stop assuming.

Also, it would NOT defeat the show's message. Fusion is still others coming together as one force, even with differences and different personalities, and triumphing over evil. It's high teir unification. Hardly betrays the mlp message

Wait, this means you're a DBZ fan? AWESOME! Sadly, I don't think we'll ever get a Pinkie-Twilight fusion so powerful and crazy-awesome it puts Gogeta to shame.

Only if done like Rainbow Rocks where the combined protagonists powers combined to create a 3rd entity or force with personification. I can already imagine the lead up to this. "Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, Kindness, Loyalty, Magic!"

Then a uber Alicorn patronus type figure forms and says ... "With your powers combined I am Admiral Equestrian!"

Bonus points if a new villain is voiced by Tim Curry.

*muttering to self*

Oh joy. Was looking forward to replying to THIS one, then I FINALLY get to a place that has functional wifi and wouldn'tcha know it, my day to be in the minority. *sigh* Oh well, now that I'm here, might as well.

*to all*

I've never seen Steven Universe either; glanced at a few stills, haven't seen an episode though.

MLP FiM has already utilized various visual elements from DBZ, so if one-on-one fusion were to occur, it wouldn't bother me. Just don't make it permanent, get stuck, or botched, ala Gotenks first attempt or Seth Brundle the Fly(Tartarus, Celestia, NO!) and it could work, for at least one or two episodes. Wanna disagree, go ahead, knock yourself out, but remember I only read mature non-cynical responses. Not to be nasty, but I'm too busy for cynics today.

Personally, I would be happy if Hasbro didn't ad unnecessary abilities.

Like Rainbow Power. I still think it's dumb. >_>
