I play guitar, mandolin, Ukulele, banjo, tin whistle, and a little bass and violin.

Guitar is my main instrument. I've been playing that for over 8 years and have had formal training in it.

*Clears throat*

Is mayonnaise an instrument? :muffins:

Sorry, I had to say it, haha. As of right now, I'm learning to play the piano in a college class -- so, I guess yes. Will I continue to learn after the semester is over is yet to be seen. ^_^

Define "play."

Like, (A) play, as in doing it well?

©Play as is trying (but failing) to learn?

Or (B) play as in make any kind of sound.

If A, then no.

If C, yes (Ocarina, ukulele, guitar, flute thing.)

If B, Then I can play everything!;)

Jack of all trades, master of none.

I play guitar, violin, drums, bass, keyboard/piano, banjo, harmonica, ukelele and sing. But if I had to say where I actually "play" an instrument vs. knowing just enough to pick it up and noodle around, I would have to say guitar is my main instrument. But I always considered "playing" an instrument to be relative. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

I think it depends. Are you just crossfading between tracks, or are you scratching, making a conscious effort to beat match stuff, etc. DJing is not easy by any means, but unless you are putting some kind of artistic flair into I don't think it would qualify as playing an instrument.

I sort of can.  I can play some relatively uncomplicated tunes on three varieties of recorder.  I can play melodica and keyboard; though, concerning the latter, I'm usually a one-handed player.  Was considering learning ukulele, but that's been put on the back burner where it more or less belongs.

I used to play trumpet back in middle school, I was in my middle school's band.

When in high school, I played the drum during my time in JROTC. Used it for marching beats, mainly.

I play the oboe and bassoon. I consider the oboe my main instrument, now. I didn't think it was going to happen, I didn't want it to happen (going into learning it), but it happened. The stars really lined up for this, I have never seen anything so crazy happen in my life. And I love this instrument, so there's that.

I've played around with (and own, too) just about any woodwind and brass instrument you could find in a standard wind ensemble, and I was proficient at piano/keyboard...at one point. lol

Bb clarinet. Not that Eb witchcraft.

Eb is the really small clarinet, right?

I remember one of the clarinets in my community orchestra played that for a community band concert last year. OMG. The reeds were TINY. I say that, but I'm an oboist. lol

Personally, I was quite amused. Although I can't lie, I prefer my clarinet low - bass clarinet!

Yooooo the Bass Clarinet is LIT. They're really heavy tho.

You know I have a bassoon but no time or desire to learn it. I thought I was gonna teach myself, so I even bought a reed and everything, but it's just sat here. I'm trying to sell it but I have no idea what I'm doing.

Believe it or not, I wanted to march bass clarinet for my senior year of high school. I ended up just sticking with trumpet, though. They are pretty heavy! I do own one, but sadly it was right when I got it that the inspiration for picking up the oboe came around, and it has been all oboe ever since!

What? You own a bassoon? How did that even happen? Those things are crazy expensive! lol. One does not simply get one and set it aside. lol

Hm, I know how to play the piano and the guitar!

Though I used to be able to play little things with an accordion and I used to be pretty good at drums, but since It's been a long time I've been near any of these two I'm unsure about still being okay x)

I can play the piano....barely. Like many other things in my life, I have little to no musical talent. I guess I kinda know what sounds good.. I can listen to a song and appreciate every aspect of it. I really don't think that is much of a musical skill though.

So my high school's music program was being cut by a malicious new principal right after I was set to graduate, so one of the music teachers took this fresh bassoon that had never been used out of the closet and was like, "Here, take it and run."

It's was and still is a pretty bad school, so being a normal human being I stood out to all the teachers to the point where they trusted me with their lives lol

What kind of/model bassoon is it, do you know?

That's terrible, though. I was very fortunate to come from an area and even a specific school district that very much values the music and band programs.

Funny you ask me that, because for the longest time I couldn't find any markings on it, right? So I took it to two double reed specialists and they have no idea. One of the guys guessed it was from a Chinese manufacturing company... Shanghai? I'm probably spelling that wrong, but that's the only indication I have. If it's not, it's a complete mystery lol.
