movies/tv Is Miraculous Ladybug worth watching?

I was literally just watching it right now. Spooky.

Anyways, I only watched it because my friend watches it. It's not too bad. If you like anime, you'll notice a lot of the similarities to anime despite the cartoon being French. It's an alright show but it's kinda cheesy at times. I'd say it's still worth watching though, at least watch the first episode like I did.

I really enjoyed the first season of Miraculous Ladybug, and I can't wait for the second season to come soon!

When I first started watching it I was rather iffy on it, because I don't normally like too many 3-D cartoons. But, as I started watching more and more of the episodes, I really enjoyed it! The characters are very relatable (especially the main ones) and you get hooked into the show after getting into the character's personalities and the relationships between them all, at least I think so anyways.

Kind of like the cartoon Steven Universe (If you've seen it), the show starts out slow with episodes that don't really stick to any huge back-story until the last three episodes of the season. The story arcs really start there. I believe the creator of the show stated that there would be more focus on story arcs and character backgrounds in Season 2, which I'm super excited about.

So yes, I think that Mircaulous Ladybug is worth watching! You should really check it out.

Thanks Wubsy for showing me this topic fff

I've been a Miraculous Ladybug fan for over a year now.

The dynamics for each of the protagonists was pitched to be atypical and stray away from generic western superhero and magical girl stereotypes- which is essentially the two art mediums the show was heavily inspired from.

Adrien and Marinette are very relatable. For each of their persona, interesting and unique dynamics are introduced at a comfortable pace to thicken the plot as the series goes on. You watch them get to know each other and grow more at ease with their dual identities. They have ying yang symbolism- Adrien is the careful, reserved, and introverted counterpart to Marinette's clumsy, outgoing and assertive civilian attitude. When Adrien transforms into Chat Noir, it liberates him from his responsibilities as the son of a renowned fashion designer while Marinette, self-proclaimed ordinary girl really gets a taste of true responsibility from being Ladybug, the hero of Paris.

It's aimed at kids and it's goofy but the show pays extreme attention to detail. As you start to understand their setting and background more, you really start to feel for the characters.

I'd recommend at least giving it a try- especially the later episodes.

It's totally worth watching! It's a lot of fun, and I've heard rumours that if the 3D show is successful enough we'll get a series more true to the original PV. If that's true...if that's true I am going to be the happiest clam in the sea. Because I've been following this entire franchise since that PV was released. ♥  Such a huge fan of Chat Noir.

I just saw a part of an episode tonight. I didn't see the whole thing but the five minutes or so that I did see looked great. Decent animation, good characters and that Ladybug costume was divine! I can't wait to see more!  :pinkie:

I would say that it is.

It has some really great animation and Marinette and Adrien are highly enjoyable characters and have great chemistry with eachother.

Plus there is some pretty decent action sequences.

The last few episodes begin to develop a bit of a myth arc that will be continued in seasons 2 and 3.

I would recommend the show.

It's good, a very good show to just sit back and relax and have some fun. It's not as deep and dark as other shows, so it's a very nice change from other shows.

As a magical girl anime fan I feel Miraculous is nothing really original...Then again it's been awhile since I watched.

Marinette kind of embarrasses me because she reminds me of my younger self...Prioritizing my crush over everything.

But Marinette and Adrien relationship is certainly...Fleshed out.

I watched season one just recently and I'm obsessed! Honestly, the episodes are rather corny and repetitive (I heard a rumor that the 26 episodes were written in 3 months?), but something kept me watching anyway.

The two main characters are really likeable, although the irony involved in the *secret identities* situation can get very, VERY frustrating.

You should also note that while it's easy to focus on flaws in the animation, it's most often really nice.

One of the best things about the show is the mystery involved. There are a lot of theories going around about the other miraculous, the identity of the villain, etc. I'm looking forward to season 2!

I would maybe start with the origins episodes (Which are oddly episodes 25 and 26). They're the prequels to the season (and it's not like Star Wars where watching the prequels first is a sin). ;)

It definitely shares its main flaw with Sailor Moon in being formulaic as all hell.

However, like you said, it's all the stuff they manage to fit into said formula that makes the show much more of a positive than a negative.
