Omen looked around at all the hostile-looking cats that, if given permission would be glad to shred his pelt into pieces. It indeed a good idea to profit the peace of the gathering. He smiled and looked at the clan's leaders. 

 

Look at the sky, clan leaders. The moon is not hidden behind clouds! The starclan is not mad at my presence. And I have all rights to be here as well. I am no ordinary rogue.

 

He smiled again, wondering of what the reaction of him knowing such things would be.

 

I'm glad to see you, Midnightstar, as the new leader. Last time I saw you, you were but a kitten. I knew you would go far, you had the spark of a leader in your eyes.

"Do you like it here?" Dusty asked, curiously. "I might settle here, at least, for the moment. I've always lived in the city; there's good hunting there, plus meals put out by Twolegs for kittypets. I don't intend to bother those other cats; if they leave me alone, then I'll leave them alone."

 

"Oh, I love it here," Jinx purred, casually licking the fur of her plump paw, "I live just up the river from here, so I get to sneak down here and help myself to some lovely fish. When I time it right, of course. The lake cats over there aren't especially friendly... especially the ones who live on the more wide open space over there." She flicked her tail in the direction of the WindClan territory. "Honestly, one of them tried to attack me just for walking around and doing no harm!"

 

Two things made her curious by Dusty's explanation. One was his usage of words the lake cats often used, and the other being humans leaving out food for cats.

"What is the city like?" She asked, then added with a purr, "And the meals?"

@@Unicorncob, "The city is full of Twolegs, so many that you never could imagine it unless you'd been there," Dusty replied, settling down next to Jinx. "Of course, they don't generally notice ferals like myself, only their pampered kittypets. Food is very easy to get, so easy that if I didn't have to fight other ferals all the time, I would gain far too much weight. As well as good hunting, there are the leavings from Twolegs and the food they put out for their kittypets. I usually went hunting in one of the stone-places. These are big open fields which have stones pushed into the ground. The stones are sometimes different colours and generally have flowers on them. Twolegs don't visit the stone-places very often; when they do, it's in daylight and not many at a time. They come to look at the stones and then they leave. The stone-places have rats, mice, birds and squirrels in them; they are very good places to hunt."

Kitestar was glad that Silverstar had finally given her a chance to speak. The Riverclan leader exchanged a glance with her, and even he looked rather taken aback by the Windclan leader's arrogant ignorance. She tilted he head in annoyance, but kept her cool in this peaceful place. Angering Starclan would not be worth retorting angrily.

"As you seem to already know, there is a sickness in Thunderclan..." Kitestar announced, still keeping an eye on the rogue as one Windclan warrior approached him. "And I will not mention any more than that, as that is all you need to know. I would simply advise not preparing any kind of raid; whislt this applies at all times, of course, you might get more than just injuries from any sick cats."

 

"Anyway," the Thunderclan leader continued, hearing the words of the rogue who had interrupted their gathering. "I think it's about time someone dealt with this strange cat over here."

Hopping down from where she sat as a leader, she stalked over to the rogue, enmity evident in her gait alone.

 

"What are you playing at, rogue?" Featherfur spat, malice dripping from his tone. "Trying to be all friendly and soft? Scram - or I'll kill you right in front of Starclan."

The apprentice watched from the apprentices' den, rather shaken up. He observed as the rogue cat who had escaped from the medicine cat's den faced Owlheart after the warrior had taken the cure from him. Then, he cast a glance over to Moonshine's den to see Slumberfur, having just woken up from a strange dream by the looks of him, talking to the medicine cat.

'What in Starclan's name is going on here...?'

Moonshine was reliefed to hear that slumberfur was alright, she couldn't find any wounds or any signs for his sudden unconciousness. "you can get up again." she said "and you have absolutely no idea why you lost conciousness? are you sure you drank enough or had enough rest the last few days? is being a mentor maybe too exhausting for you?" she asked. as a medicine cat it was her duty to make sure her clanmates were allright and suddenly faling unconcious wasn't something she concidered 'allright'. she had to find out why it happened.

willowpaw siletnely listened to the two cat's talk. She had already figured that one of them had to be a kittypet, jugding from her plump figure and her focus on food. the other one was from the two legs place but he wasn't a kittypet. when the not kittypet told the kittypet about the twoleg place willowpaw moved a bit closer. she had never been to the twolegplace and she was realy curious about it. to hear it better she moved a bit closer but because it was dark she accidentally stepped on some dead leaves. in the silence of the nigth them made an awefull lot of noise. willowpaw froze inmediately and hoped the two cats hadn't heard her.

Omen glanced at Freatherfur still smiling, but his eyes burned like hell flames.

 

The sacred peace is the only reason I don't teach you a lesson, lost warrior. You are similar to me, yet you even don't know that. You had luck, you found a new home. I didn't. 

 

He turned back to the leaders. 

 

I was lost. Away from everyone, away from the starclan. Lost and alone, yet no one came to help. No one bothered. It's so much easier to assume the worst and forget no? So here the news. I was a member of shadow clan. I was captured by two legs. Brought to a place so horrific, that all those little twoleg nests seem small. There, monsters are everywhere, and twolegs are swarming like flies and build their nests in tall stone trees that are so high, they reach the clouds. I escaped from such tree, but couldn't avoid all the monsters that hunted me down. I was lying down, and dying, and my teacher came to me, he was dead, and was the only cat that bothered came to search me. He saved me, showed the way back home, but now I am cursed to be an apprentice forever, as long as the fire in my eyes burns. I came here to reclaim what is due to me. I am here to claim my place at what used to be home and was supposed to have cats who could help me, and now I am just surrounded by cats I don't even know.

@@Pripyat Pony, @@Missklang, "Great Starclan..." Twigblaze muttered out loud. "I had no idea this rogue had been through so much. And he intended to return to Shadowclan after spending his time scaring innocent apprentices? Or, that's what I'm guessing he's passively suggesting..."

The deputy was not completely adverse to the idea. A feeling that she hadn't had in a long time welled up inside of her: sympathy. A forest cat forced to live a life he did not wish to lead... that wasn't right. She glanced at Midnightstar, wondering how her leader would feel about this rogue's story.

 

Featherfur muttered under his breath, but decided it was best to stand down. Obviously, this rogue wasn't really here to cause trouble, rather make a dramatic reappearance and a cowardly plea to be welcomed again by the clan cats.

Owlheart hissed and kept his amber eyes fixed on the rogue, stare like ice-cold tiger claws. He had already shown that he was not just a threat to the Clan's peace, but a liable threat.

 

"Kitestar will know what to do with you," he snarled, "any more tricks and I'll drag your carcass out of here myself."

Jinx slid her tongue across her muzzle, nearly drooling at the mental image Dusty had given her. Humans just leaving food out for the sole purpose of her eating it. It was a steal!

 

She didn't really see the appeal of hunting for live prey in these 'stone-places' he mentioned, though they did sound like a heavenly place to sun herself after a good meal.

Slumberfur stood up and Darkpaw watched if he needed any help but Slumberfur had no problem getting up. "That's right, no idea" "I haven't been drinking or eating any less than before" "And I haven't felt any more tired than usual." Sure he had less naps because he had apprentice to look after but those naps were just for fun more than actually for resting. "And shouldn't I feel terrible before or at least after if it was that?"

*Starts to look for better warm spacing not too far although the other cats hated him by the look of their eyes

@@Missklang, @@Wolves, Midnightstar listened to the rogue's story in silence. Part of her wanted to turn him away, chase him out and kill him if he didn't leave, but another part of her disagreed. This part won over; Midnightstar knew that with the sickness affecting so many Shadowclan warriors, this rogue would be very useful to the clan. She waited a little while to collect her thoughts, then spoke.

 

"I will let you rejoin Shadowclan, but on two conditions," she said. "Firstly, you must agree to follow clan rules from now on, and always defer to myself and Twigblaze at all times. Secondly, you must finish your apprenticeship. I will appoint Twigblaze as your mentor; when she tells me that she considers you ready, then you can have your warrior ceremony. You will be given an appropriate warrior name then."

 

She waited to hear what the rogue had to say.

Silverstar nodded noting the Thunderclan's leader small report. This sickness must be bad if she would threaten any clan that might raid them, or attempt to raid them anyway. She glanced down towards Featherfur, and smiled. What a good warrior he was threatening the Kittypet. She glanced at the next leader to speak before her attention returned to the rouge as he mentioned Starclan, how dare he she thought her fur bristling again.

She jumped down from the leaders tree and crossed the distance to the rouge in several leaps, she was not the leader for nothing, being the fastest cat in the clan, her claws were now unsheathed, she had enough of these interruptions. "Threaten my warriors again, and i will rip you from tail to nose, truce or not, only the leaders should speak at the gathering. You should have arrived back at the Shadowclan camp first where they could affiliate themselves with you properly, rather them storm a gathering, and interrupt the events here, enough time has been wasted as it is, you're attention seeking attitude stops now." she finished.

She listened to Midnightstar accepting the rouge back into Shadowclan and then turned back to the tree and climbed it joining the remaining leaders. "Good, now we can move on, Midnightstar you're turn to report to the clans, and no more interruptions" she growled glaring at the rouge, she noticed all the leaders were not on the tree and she glanced around looking for the missing leader, and hissed annoyed.  

 

"WHERE IS THE THUNDERCLAN LEADER" she caterwauled.

Darkfur had moved from growling to full on snarling.

He saw the rogue moving a lot slower due to his own poisoning, and moved slowly, pushing the rogue back down.

"You want warmth huh? Then maybe you should learn some respect."

He brung out one claw and sliced it lightly through the rogues arm, a warm trickle of blood running out of it, but not enough to do any real harm.

"Don't touch my thunder clan kin, or you won't live to see another day."

Moonshine knew that is hadn't been any of those things she had summed up. she shook her head "I really don't know" She admitted "I don't think I know anymore as you do about this. if it happens again then inmediately come to me, okay?" she said to slumberfur. then she turned her head and saw darkfur slicing open the rogues paw. she hissed out of frustration and jumped over to them, leaving slumberfur and darkpaw behind. 

 

"Darkfur! stop that inmediately!" She said to the warrior with an angry tone but secretly she kinda liked it what he had done. that stupid mousebrain deserved it "Now he can't run away well when we chase him of our territory" She said quietly on a much nicer tone to darkfur.

willowpaw made herself as small as possible, she had been noticed by the cats. what would she do? fight, flight or just reveil herself and hope the didn't do any harm to her. the twolegplace cat said that he didn't want to fight so she chose the last option. carefully she stepped out of the bushes. "It was me. I didn't mean to interupt you." She said and she bowed her head and made her as small as possible.

Before he entered he looked after Moonshine and just now noticed that rogue was causing problems again. "Call me up if you need any help with that rogue, I think I lay down for a second" He went inside and laid down, he was thinking what just happened and if he should mention about it to Moonshine.

Twigblaze was a little surprised that Midnightstar was willing to accept the rogue back into Shadowclan so quickly, but knew deep down that her leader was likely right. However, when she heard that she had been assigned to mentor Omen, Twigblaze was really thoroughly taken aback. This meant that she would be mentoring a cat older than herself.

'Well, this is new...' she thought. 'But I doubt it'll take long. He's probably more experienced than I am, come to think of it.'

Twigblaze remained silent, but cast a nod towards her leader and awaited the rogue's reply.

 

"I'm right here!" KItestar hopped back up beside Silverstar. "I was just seeing what the rogue had to say, is all. But it looks like things have been sorted out, more-or-less. Based on his response."

 

Featherfur's eyes remained fixated on Omen as he lashed his tail from side to side.

Jinx blinked as the new cat made herself known, and was surprisingly not looking for a fight. It was surprising since she carried the scent of lake cats on her.

 

"You're one of the cats from over there, right?" She mewed, flicking her tail toward the island, then raised her chin indignantly. "Well, we were not hunting, so you have no reason to accuse us."

Owlheart, however, was a bit more appreciative of Darkfur's attack on the rogue. He had been a pain in his side all day, and it was refreshing to see him get a bit of comeuppance.

 

"It means he will learn the next time he tries to take advantage of a Clan's mercy," he rasped.

Omen bowed his head in respect.

 

I am grateful for your infinite kindness. I have some things I'd like to speak about, mainly the name. But I can not interrupt the gathering any longer. I took too much of your time already and I do not wish to test starclan's patience either. I apologize, but this was, for me, the safest way to reveal myself without putting my life in danger. Not all clans are so... open minded to cats from outside as the Thunder clan. 

 

He smirked for a second.

 

I will await the end of the gathering. I'll come to see you then.

 

He walked a bit away from the crowd to the place where there was fewer warriors and more apprentices since his height was more appropriate to theirs and that wouldn't stress the warriors. And he could see clearly that the warriors didn't look as they were taking him much seriously. Young ones, from their illusions of being the best and undefeated and judging him by size too fast, and old, from his unusual appearance, but perhaps, the most experienced were showing more caution and careful interest that open hostility and despite.

Twigblaze caught sight of them muttering something among themselves, but soon turned back to face the rogue and noticed his slight smirk. Narrowing her eyes a little but uttering no words, she watched him thank the Shadowclan leader and walk off to join the apprentices of the clans. Flicking her tail, the deputy look to Midnightstar; "I now assume it is Shadowclan's turn to speak, before the gathering ends."

willowpaw was relieved to see that the kittypet didn't seem agressive, but she wasn't the one willowpaw feared, she could take her out with ease if she wanted to, it was the twolegplace cat that seemed more dangerous to her. while keeping an eye on him she spoke to the kittypet "I-I wasn't going to accuse you of anything. I just walked by and I heard you talk about the twoleg place and I got curious." She said a bit ashamed. as a clancat it wasn't normal to be that interested in the twolegplaces but willowpaw was intersted in thim, not that she wanted to become a kittypet, never, but she wanted to see what it was like to live outside the forest.

@@Wolves, Midnightstar began to speak. "As I mentioned before," she said, "There is sickness in Shadowclan, and I have this to say. Our medicine cat has been able to come up with a herb concoction which can keep death at bay, however, it will not cure the sickness completely. In order to gather enough herbs to make this remedy, it is necessary for our patrols to sometimes go into Thunderclan territory. I'm sure that Kitestar would not wish to anger Starclan by attacking Shadowclan warriors who are only trespassing in order that their fellow clan members be saved from death. I will also add that if anycat finds a cure for this sickness, it would look well on them if they were to share it."

*Licks the blood trickles from the wound that was causing a trail of blood behind him*

"There's a price that comes with being a warrior but I never thought losing my paw and being used by two legs was something I was a normal cat just moving around one day my paw was crushed by these fast objects that produced light I was in a small country by then I was still a kitten just you know visiting family after my paw was crushed the galley came out of the thing and put me in the back of it I couldn't fight back I was in shock I was later dragged into a white stone

Den it looked far different from the forest and caves later I found I wake up and my paw was gone in place was this thing"

*Shows him the handiwork of the two legs*

"Later after two days of moving this I was put in a trap thing with a doorway that opens and shuts after I went into another stone building and then I was asleep again randomly I woke up the new paw still there but it felt heavier so I tried to extend my claws it was not a good thing after that it fired out small pointed stick things so small but made me jump after that"

*Looks away*

"Why am I telling you about the two legs and how I got this stupid thing"

willowpaw was exited and relieved to see that this cat wasn't going to cause her problems but wanted to tell about the twolegs place. Her eyes got bigger and she tried to organise her thoughts before she started to ask questions. "Everything." she said exited "what does it look like there. What does it smell like? Are there really that many twolegs? And are the twolegs really that bad? Where did you live? Did you have a den there? And what are those monsters with twolegs in their stomach for?" she asked him but then stopped herself, she could've asked much more questions but these were already too much probably. Hopefully she looked at the cat while she waited for his answers.
