"Are you feeling fed up? Are you tired of how the Princesses run things? Are you curious on how it might be if you were in charge for just a little bit? Fear not, O mysterious not entirely complacent being, be you pony or otherwise!  You are not alone, there is at least one fellow rebel among you and he's wandering looking for partners and other diamonds within the rough! 

 

So come! Come and join those few who aren't exactly satisfied with how Equestria is run, perhaps together we can make a difference. Our formal meeting will be in the Stumble Inn, in Manehatten,"

The following would be found on fliers doutifuly put up by one stallion, who was now waiting in the said Inn, sitting in the small bar by candle light with a tired grin on his face no really expecting anyone to show up. But even if it was the royal guard themselves he would be more then happy.

 

Meanwhile the rest of Equestria toddled on as it normally did. ponies did their daily routians  and all was pretty ok with the world. So the question was could one little flier really do a whole lot to upset such an idyllic place?.... heck if I know but there are those who might...

The quiet town of Doppleslaunder, tucked in the swampy marshes of southern Equestria sat rather still, the alsmot rusted train tracks hardly ever used to this far corner of ponydom. The faint sound of flies in the distance could be heard. But perhaps, at this turn of the day, the little town would become more important then a simple name on a dusty map, maybe today something would actually happen

Copper looked onward to the city.  He sighed, going through of what he needed to do.  He was tasked with uncovering some magical activity that was going on here, and to do it quietly, for whatever was going on could be for overthrowing Equestria's princesses.  He wasn't going to allow that, but for now, he decided to act normally, like any regular day.  He trotted into town, humming a happy tune as he normally would, as he knew he would be greeted into town.

The Stumble Inn in Manehattan. That's what the note said, right?

 

The pegasus stood in front of the tavern in question holding the note up with her hoof. This was definitely the place.

 

She took a deep breath, feeling a nervous pain in her chest. She tugged the hood of her cloak further over her face, to keep herself hidden. She had been sent to sneak into this apparent 'rebel meeting', as her commander had called it, and find out everything she could about who was running it and who would be joining. It didn't seem like a big deal, but nopony could take any risks.

 

She had gone without her armour, her sword skillfully hidden beneath her cloak serving as her only line of personal protection.

 

With a deep breath, she put the note away and stepped into the Stumble Inn, looking around for the organiser of the meeting.

 

At least the place was relatively quiet; finding this pony won't take too much time.

Once more, would somepony remind her why she was doing this?

 

Firstly, who in their right mind gathered ponies by flier?  Whoever they were was asking to be raided, or at least they would, assuming the Royal Guard of this city was competent.  Then again, Manehattan was a big city, and as somepony who shopped there often, Carnelian knew that well.

 

With a lurch, her private carriage pulled to a stop beside her destination.  Ah yes, an inn, an incredibly public place where ponies thought they could plot.  They could have done this at a private residence and have several times as much privacy and security.  C'est la vie.

 

The door opened and a guard helped her down onto the sidewalk before another flanked her.  Should she take her guards inside with her, or leave them outside?  Inside, they would attract attention, but more so inside.  Then again, that carriage at such a place stuck out worse than a sore hoof, so what was the point of hiding her presence here.

 

"Wait outside," she commanded, the armored stallions taking position at both sides of the door, standing at attention.  Taking a deep breath, the crystal mare pushed through the door and was greeted with an unholy stench.  By Iridia, did all establishments of ill repute have to have the worst stench about them?  It smelled of stale beer, vomit, and smoke, not that she was unfamiliar to those smells, but her nostrils could tell the difference between good and cheap product.  Not that she'd ever drink beer, of course.

 

"Waiting for somepony?" she inquired, having a seat next to him.  "Marefriend?  Coltfriend?  Conspirator?"

Rhetoric, the postercolt for the lower class was to say the least surprised to see a mare of such,... refinery sitting next to him. But of course he shouldn't have been to surprised, there were those who were merely power hungry and not as idealistic as himself.

 

No matter, beggars couldn't be chooser's and was one step from being a beggar more often then not. 

 

Turning to the mare, she sighed at his ragged albeit tided appearance, having to walk everywhere mad it nigh impossible to get all the dirt off of him, and being an earth pony only seemed to make the irony worse, nonetheless he smiled and greeted his first interested pony

"Madam, if I had any or all three I'd be a lucky Stallion, please pardon the poor accommodations but as you can see a pony such as myself can't afford much else, besides this is merely the interest meeting, can I offer you something, wine, food? Its a bit better then you may believe madam." he chuckled a tad and sighed again "but more importantly what brought you here? I am most interested in that" he was both eloquent and rustic with his speech, patching together whatever education he had the best he could but obviously suffering for a few things here and there

"Until we find someplace more private, let's say I have my own reasons."  Carnelian grinned enigmatically.  "Mostly, they involve interest in assets both within and without the boundaries of the Crystal Empire."

The town was rather quiet, although as Copper walked into the little hamlet things began to stir... until finally a youngish colt, with what was probably his father stepped forward "Uh...good morning Stranger... uh what brings you to Dopplewood?"  the ponies seemed a tad nervous, they didn't get visitors often

The cloaked pegasus turned and saw the... rather well-dressed mare. One that she could swear she recognised. Perhaps she provided protection for her once?

 

She gingerly approached the two ponies, and subtly took a seat next to the mare. From how she was dressed, she was certainly Canterlot material.

 

Wait... now she recognised her! It was the Baroness!

 

What in Celestia's name would she be doing here?!

 

She kept quiet and hidden, listening in...

A blue earth pony stallion had just exited a game store with a green cap that a white circle a a green L on the inside of that. He had just bought it from the store, only to find a flyer lying on the ground. To him this was odd, but something against Celestia wasn't good. However, with his younger, more excitable looks, it'd be odd for someone like him to be at a boring old meeting. That's when it hit him. Infiltration.

 

The young stallion put on his green scarf, putting the hat away. His appreciation for Gaming's best supposed number two would have to wait for the time being.

 

He started walking. Making his way towards the Inn. After some thought, he decided to take the side entrance to the building. Once there he stepped inside, making light hoofsteps along the luxurious carpet flooring.

 

The bar was in sight across the room, and the pony nodded to himself. He stayed out of sight near the food stand, keeping an ear open while blending in as if he was buying something, keeping his face hidden behind a menu.

 

All he had to do now…was wait.

Nix entered the bar discreetly and quickly took in the room. Pulling her jacket tighter around her, and the brim of her had a tad lower self consciously; she made her way to an empty table near the back of the bar.

 

Sitting down with her back to the wall made her feel a bit more secure. She continued looking around for thatsomepony a bit out of place....

 

Her eyes settled on ...the baroness!? What on earth was -she- doing here? She watched the conspicuous pair curiously.

 The mares smile made Rhetoric more then a tad nervous, not to mention  what she commented on. 

 

Well I had always wanted to get into politics... and even if this mare seems... well power hungry ,she also seems smart, I'm in no position to make enemies... just have to be careful who I get close to I suppose 

He returned the smile, a much more honest one, true, but a smile "That is understandable, this Inn is rather... open, shall we say? But it's nice to see someone with vision is interested" he finished, flattery while vain, never hurt anyone 

 

At the present moment there was a new comer, all cloaked up and no place to go "Well greetings!... Sir?... Madam, sorry I can;t tell, and what brings you to this table of intrigue?"

"Um," the pegasus muttered, putting on the voice of a quiet, shy, and nervous little mare who seemed so introverted she didn't get out and talk to ponies too much, "Y-you're... you're the one who organised this meeting, yes?"

 

She fished out the flyer and plopped it on the table near him. "The one who sent these out?"

Boy you've come to the wrong place there isn't anything to see here, expect swamp and pete... and the Zebra's that come through here from time to time... But seriously boy you got to be pulling my leg" the younger stallion giggled a bit at the comment

The blue and yellow haired stallion kept his face behind the menu, listening closely at everything being said from across the room. He noticed someone familiar, though. Someone who may have been working for Celestia. It was Star. Perfect. She's here, so there's no chance anything could go wrong. Or could there...?

​Regardless, his gaze drifted over to the mare. He eyed her up a bit, and blinked. He quickly hid behind the menu once more. ​​What's a cougar like her doing in a drabby place like this? Her muzzle practically screams high class and doesn't quite fit here. Something important must be going on. Something important...and big.​ ​He thought silently to himself as he mulled over the situation.

 

​Sipping from his glass of water, Ice Blizzard kept his ears open. However, he was starting to realize that if anything should arise, it'd be best to go on over....but for now, he stayed.

Carnelian's eyes drifted over towards the mare now joining them, and her smile faded.  It appears that I'm overqualified for this.  Then again, I answered an advert on a damn flier.  You pay with peanuts, you end up with monkeys.

With the addition of a third pony to the group, Nix was fairly sure that the stallion was the one she was looking for. She rose from the table, and wove through the crowd in a leisurely fashion, trying not to make the group any more conspicuous than it already was.

With the addition of a third pony to the group, Nix was fairly sure that the stallion was the one she was looking for. She rose from the table, and wove through the crowd in a leisurely fashion, trying not to make the group any more conspicuous than it already was.

 

 

As the cloaked figure was the one to speak first he politely responded "Yes, for better or worse I did, and pardon me for being rube but that still doesn't answer the question as to why you've come here? Surely there was a reason?" 

 

He flinched a bit at the contact with the posh mare, the cleanliness felt almost unnatural "... I didn't know who to expect Madam, it was just a flyer after all, honestly I half expected for the royal guard to show up and cart me away for "conspiracy"." he waved his hooves in the typical quote like motion, laughing 

"But really this is just a honest meeting between honest ponies, right? Surely it isn't against the law to voice displeasure with the current state of things? And thats why I assume most of you are here... you are unsatisfied with how things are and came looking for other who might share your feelings, strength in numbers after all" he finished the little speech satisfied 

 

"Ah look another to join the dissatisfaction" he almost called out to the mare walking towards the table "Come come, sit there is plenty room for more, this isn't a secret meeting by any means. If Celestia herself wanted to sit down here she would be most welcome" he wanted to appear as harmless as possible, because for the time being that was the case... if things had to get more secret they could and would but only if they had too

The pegasus blinked, and she gently crossed her hooves on the tabletop, to keep playing the part of a meek introvert.

 

"W-well, it sounded interesting," she murmured, eyes glancing down to the flyer, "you mentioned something about ruling Equestria differently, and I wanted to hear what you had to say..."

 

Hopefully her shy voice sold it.

The ponies frowned as they watched him walk away and without much of a word silently went about their business. Much of the rest of the town was fairly still. Sounds of ponies working here and there, the most sound came from a small outside vendor where a single pony was playing an accordion and seeming to be seeing some sort of herbs

"Thanks." Nix said with a grin, seating herself beside the brown stalion, and listening to what the cloaked mare had to say.

 

"Indeed! I am quite interested in your philosophies on the topic. And it would be nice to share my own of course." she gently tapped a hoof on the table top every so often, and cleared her throat softly. She felt better next to likeminded people, but was still uneasy. (I meant the hoof tapping as about the human equivalent to drumming your fingers.)

Ice kept listening in. Maybe it was time to go over and see what everything was about first hoof instead of looking suspicious by watching from afar. With a quiet sigh, het got up from his table, and started walking over. Everyone in the room could clearly see he was a lot younger than they were, hopefully he didn't stand out too much.

 

His amber eyes drifted around the room as he trotted over to the table. He kept his eyes and ears open as he focused on the ringleader. ​"Yo, what's up? I couldn't help but take note of this flier I found out there." ​he spoke in his usual confident, yet freestyle tone, holding it up in his hoof. After which, he sat down in one of the chairs, sitting casually like a human with one leg crossed over the other, as he held his forelegs behind his head. ​"So is the meeting started yet, or what?"

So it was officially a party.  Wonderful, plenty of shields for her to use in the event that this farce went pear-shaped.  Wouldn't it, though?  Did their host even plan to get this far?

 

"Call me curious, dear, why don't you tell us a little about yourself," she inquired of her host, tossing her mane over her other shoulder and leaning over towards him.  "You show me yours, and I might just show you mine~"

Light Star levitated one of the many fliers with her magic. She carefully read each and every word, and her eyes lit up with excitement, as it appears she isn't the only pony thinking that the monarchy is flawed. That the Princesses needed to be brought down. Okay, so this seems like an interesting meeting. Where is the place? The Stumble Inn? Time to find it.

 

Light carefully concealed the flyer in her crude 'outfit', and quickly sought to locate the inn. When she arrived, it seemed as if maybe the meeting had already started. The unicorn burst into the room, out of breath. "Oh no... I'm late."
