Excel Help: Solve for X, Y or Z with Words

Nit Pick

I'm trying to create for myself a guide for Dead Rising 2. A game mechanic is making juices that give the player a temporary boost in speed or whatever.

Is it possible to make an Excel spreadsheet with words that solve for X, Y or Z? For example I type or select 'Milk' for X (X is the first ingredient) and Z is 'Quickstep' (Z being the final Mix) it returns with solutions for Y (Y is answers for the second ingredient that can be mixed with the first to create Z).

Part of me thinks this is a Javascript solution and not something that can be used in Excel. I just need someone to tell me if this is possible or not with one or the other.

Im not an expert in this subject, but maybe look into writing excel vba macros. You could always use a huge IF condition, but that's hardly maintainable. It sounds like something that should be possible though.

its been years, but if you cant figure out how to use words with the "math function" you could type it up as a grid.

placeing all the ingredents down the side and again at the top, and where they cross you put the end result...

like a multiplications or powers table. (btw i havent used excell sence 04)

The unasked questions are what bother me, not the answers. The answers give me clarity. Silence is in its self an answer, so ask! To not ask is to deny the existence of said question, and leaves you with just "what if".
