I'm trying to decide what is going on in this scene here:

Is this some incognito starlet being nice to one of her adoring fans? Or...

Is it some meth-addicted prostitute pony attempting to score her latest trick by wooing a tourist so she can pay her dealer for another hit?  :orly:

What happens in Las Pegasus stays in Las Pegasus... Except the STD - you get to take that with you!

Not sure if you still care after this long but I think that's a reference to a manga about a famous idol and her love/marriage to plain simple guy and trying to balance her desire to be wtih him vs her image. First few dates she wears bags over her head and the like to conceal who she is to see if he likes her for her or for her idol image. The two of them seem to match the way they're depicted in the manga pink hair, disguise, glasses, etc. I wont link to it here as its adult in nature though. Just a picture of a keyring of the two main characters.

That does seem like what they were referring to. Thanks! I guess we can add this to the list of references that are totally inappropriate for small kids who watch the show to actually look up online, lol!

This was a really well done episode. Flim and Flam are fun, Applejack and Fluttershy work well together, and it has a unique setting to make it stand out.

The only thing I don't like is "Applejack never lies" being the reason Flim and Flam get back together. It doesn't make sense that Flim and Flam would believe that Applejack never lies. What she said could've easily been a lie, since she already didn't like Flim and Flam.

Score: 9/10

True and we know Applejack does lie on occasion however in this case I can understand it since Flim and Flam's interactions with her have previously have been a brief cider making challenge and the tonic episode where the reason they were run out of town was because Applejack couldn't bring herself to keep lieing about their tonic being a real cure. She'd sort of be in their minds as that annoyingly honest pony even before the episode.

This entire episode is about a mystery. This wouldn't be a problem if the episode didn't give the most obvious hints ever about what the solution is. It's painfully obvious that Gladmane is the antagonist and other characters outright state his plan. It's true that this isn't the only episode with an obvious mystery, but those episodes had other things to bring them up like the style in Rarity Investigates and the comedy in MMMmystery on the Friendship Express. The only thing this episode has is Flim and Flam who don't have enough screen time to be really fun. In the end, this is just a boring episode.

I felt the episode went by very quickly, must admit I originally thought that it was going to be the flim flam brothers and that's it as a return to the characters and improvement on apple jack. Though as soon as there was mutliple issue it became aparent that it was Gladmane. I guess he was designed as that sort of character so it could have been obvious earlier on but I was hoping that the show wouldn't go with the obvious character becuase of design.

I am again excited by the return of characters, it seems flim and flam have become...neutral. I wouldn't say good as though they got rid of Gladmane they don't seem as set on improving stuff as other ponies 'converted', but that's not an issue. I feel like a discord-esque relationship would be good were they still have bouts of sneakiness.

Overall felt could have had a better mystery or more flim flam brothers as they were the focus really. The tricking at the end felt a bit too rushed imo not enough time between apparent failure and then success, but hey it was okay.

Coincidentally enough I have a question from the exact same moment that someone posted a screenshot of earlier in the thread - though they edited out the bit I'm curious about. It's the pony inside the machine. What's she doing inside the machine? Can someone offer an explanation?

The story and was not bad but fairly interesting. I'm just not the biggest fan of Flim&Flam. It was also nice to see them winning Gladmane in the end. Overall this episode is not directly my cup of tea though.

I've never really been a fan of Flim and Flam, but I have to hand it to them .. that strat they concocted to use on Gladmane was great.  Smug shy was an added plus.  I think this was just an overall fun episode that didn't demand a lot of reading in to it.

I can’t believe AJ and Fluttershy didn’t come across Jerma while in Las Pegasus.

I do agree that this episode is really fast paced. I like that they gave Flim and Flam some more depth. Love side characters getting more screen time and character development. Also I absolutely love AJ’s reaction once she realized it was the Flim Flam brothers who were speaking in the casino. And Fluttershy being smug towards AJ. Cute, and funny episode overall.
