Recommended OC colors?

So I've heard a lot of people are dissing bronies with black and red OC characters. Problem? I have a black/red OC, but that's because those are my two favorite colors. Any help/solution on this issue?

My serious answer? Ignore them, they're bitter jerks that think repeating "Hurr durr red and black edgy alicorn ocs that marry luna and use dark magic are dumb" over and over and laughing makes it funny. Unfortunately, there's a lot of them, so they don't notice when their repetition gets old. Really, really old.

 

If your OC is red and black, let him be red and black. If someone goes "Hurr durr red and black is edgy", bring up Mickey Mouse, then slam them for being obsessed with color.

Because those outright sharply contrasting colours look kinda emo/cringe worthy, the show has more light and soft colours which gives it a more cheerful mood, the problem is that sharp colours goes against what we are all use to and doesen't fit in with one of the basic requirements of a show character XP this being said what you're trying to do is mak an OC but really it's just a majority opinion that black and read and other full colours don't look good on a pony.. Like blue, yellow, green, hot pink.. Anything fluorescent.. Those colours look out of place XP by all means make the OC that YOU like, in the end it's not up to us X3

Orange oc with blue hair sounds nice. I have an OC henchman like that working for my fic's villain.

Colors mean the essence of my characters.

 

Black and red can be perceived as fear, and hatred. As well as passion and mistery.

 

I have two oc's. One is the reasoning of understanding. Given his dualistic perception, this is black and white.

The other side, is the creative, ilogical and ever changing life force. This facet has all the colors. But she goes beyond understanding.

They see each other in the reflection of any mirror. Both live the same life, the same events on each side. But they react differently, and this changes.each others reality.

They're getting to know each other, they wish to be together, without realizing they're one already. They sojourn to learn loving themselves.

 

My advice, express yourself freely.
