Will twilight ever become as strong as starswirl?

Will she ever become as strong as her big idol?

 

I mean she's a alicorn with very powerfull magic abillities. And every second she grow stronger , learn new spells and enhance her power. I think either she's on it or she's already as strong as starswirl.

 

But what do you think about that?

I'd say she has exceeded Star Swirl in terms of power but not in terms of knowledge. Despite having some difficulty at first, Twilight used the combined magic of four alicorns, effectively making her the most powerful pony Equestria had ever seen. When it comes to the pursuit of knowledge, Twilight still has a long way to go if she ever hopes to know more than Star Swirl did during his lifetime.

This. I don't think starswirl was super powerful, just knowledgeable. Basically "unskilled but strong".

 

This goes double if you accept the comics where its not that starswirl was a super genius, he just created a bunch of parallel dimension mirrors (with the one from EQG being just ONE of them) and then went dimension hopping and bummed info from all the other realities like the villains from Bioshock infinite stole tech from other dimensions.

I think she already surpassed Starswirled.

 

One, she is an Alicorn which is the most magical pony (as far as we know...). And two, she finished his spell in Magical Mystery Cure (I know many don't exactly like the episode) which he couldn't do because of lack of friendship.

I would imagine at some point she will.. we are not 100% sure how powerful or not Starswirl actually was, but as mentioned above, it seems to hint he was more knowledgeable than powerful... but when it comes to magic and old wizards, we all know looks can be deceiving.

 

it would be interesting to see an episode into the history of Celestia and Luna, that has Starswirl in it, that perhaps answers some of those questions. And i actually do think we will get something in S7 or 8 with it.

Celestia did help him with research on the mirror but he practically spear-headed the project by creating it in the first place. He was also very eccentric and loved all the little details one discovers on the path to discovery.

Seeing that Twilight solved one of his spells that had ultimately lead her to her alicornization seems like an good starting place in exceeding Starswirl but that's not enough in the terms of measuring potential strength. They're both potentially strong but Starswirl the Bearded remains a larger mystery.

Twilight could just blast the whole thing apart, but in the process would leave a huge crater in the place and probably send bits of brick and mortar flying everywhere. Starswirl on the other hand would inspect the tower for a moment, then knock away one brick from the base, causing the whole thing to collapse in on itself.

 

Twilight has a lot of 'oomph' behind her magic, but Starswirl has enough knowledge to get the same results with far less effort.

Starswirl never made friends in the light as to the Mane 6 including Twilight, according to Celestia. I can concur that he was afraid or even perhaps alone and yet his immense power didn't grant him any strength in Friendships.

She might already be more powerful, we just haven't seen the full extent of her abilities. She seems to like showing restraint, which is something Starlight could learn more. If she somehow isn't as powerful at least by now, she definitely will be in the future. Would love to see her use her full potential in the movie. :3

I know I will probably be murdered in 3 2 1 no the reason I say no is due to Starlight Glimmer already took that pedestal from Twilight surpassing her in magic in every way I am not a fan of Starlight Glimmer, but if Twilight is not stronger magic wise then Starlight then she will not be as strong as starswirl the bearded which by the way starswirl is a generation 3 my little pony cue picture in 3 2 1

Not even show where Starswirl's degree of magic power lies at, he does however seem to have great knowledge of friendship and time travel, the two spells ones he did most of the work, he just couldn't complete them.
