Sly 236 December 6, 2016 Share December 6, 2016 (edited) ... in a really good way thought. A few minutes ago I checked Wikipedia's page of the MLP Movie, and I've seen a new producer was added to the list, with a source included. The source was not other than Michel Gagne's blog (that legendary animator from several of the best animated movies of the 90s..... little parentheses he got his contract extended of two months so more chances the Movie will be even better so even more good news here). Her name is Marcia Gwendolin Jones. I wanted to check her IMDB page to see her previous works and WHOAHOAHOAHOAHOAHAH SHE WAS A PRODUCER FROM MONSTER INC. AND FINDING NEMO?! (she was actually also in the critically panned Ratchet & Clank thought but only as a supervisor of the dubbing for that, nothing to the levels of those other two movies, so don't worry) Wasn't already enough to have a writer from Mulan and Tory Story 2, a legendary animator, and several big names in the voice cast included Sia? Not mentioning all the veteran people of the show (Mccarthy, Thiessen, Dart, Ingram) and all the voice actors of the Mane 6 and Spike in it..... man they are really going big with this uh? I might even quit MLP with this, but man I'm gonna quit with a Big Bang...... I'm just wondering which other names are involved in this Moview as well.. Nightfall Gloam 18,260 December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 This movie is DEFINITELY in good hands. I love how Hasbro seems to know what they're doing with this movie, and how they are clearly NOT messing around! 1 Aspiring animator/illustrator, founder of MLPF's Lighthoof and Shimmy Shake fan club! I love how Hasbro seems to know what they're doing with this movie, and how they are clearly NOT messing around! Yup. I'm just curious what their motivations are thought. OK it's a feature Movie but this time they're really really going big for that.... they haven't gone this big in their previous movies and they have been bad.... like, REALLY bad (see Jem and the Holograms and all the Transformers movies except the first one), I'm curious on why they're being suddenly so caring about this movie... the only difference is that unlike the others Hasbro's movie, this one is an animated one.

That's the reason right there: it's animated. Good animated movies generally make big $$$.
Sly 236 December 7, 2016 Author Share December 7, 2016 (edited) That's the reason right there: it's animated. Good animated movies generally make big $$$.Well... yeah. One sure thing: they're taking all the good measures, which is why theyou asked to Mr. Gagne if he could extend his contract for a little while. Good thing he said Yes! I'm wondering thought if they're taking all these precautions, to avoid that Sony stuff again... Speaking of which... you know I don't know what is worse: the fact that Sony deliberately tried to boycot the Movie or that they could even remotely think that Meghan and Jayson would have agreed to make the Movie live action... ah whatever, better not think about it, it also belongs to the past. The important thing is that now the Movie is in more than good hands. Edited December 7, 2016 by Sly
Corvius 8 December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 Holy cow! Those are some big names! I was expecting this movie to be just a merchandise seller (which is still probably one of the reasons) but it seems as if it is really being taken seriously! I'm looking forward to the trailer a lot more now.
Ganondorf8 11,318 December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 After the disaster that was Jem & the Holograms, it makes sense that Hasbro wants to go all-out in making the MLP movie an experience no one is going to be forgetting any time soon.

Speaking of which, I wanted to check personally on IMDB some critically panned Movies and some critically acclaimed or at least appreciated enough movies. I'very noticed that effectively a lot of panned Movies like the various Transformers Movies and Jem and The Holograms, effectively had a very weak crew of writers and producers. Instead the various Disney Movies effectively had a first class crew of writers and producers. It's also interesting that I've checked the crew of Ouija: the birth of Evil (the most recent Hasbro Movie and Alston the most appreciated Hasbro Movie since the first Transformers), and I've seen that.... it effectively had a good enough staff of writers and producers. All of this to say that the quality of a production is always reflected by the competency of the people who work on it, and considering that the MLP MOVIE is getting a great staff as well, things seem to be pretty bright for it, hardly things will go wrong with this Movie.

Hasbro are also aware that MLP has been far more successful than they even dreamed of due to the rise of the bronies courtesy of the online world. They know that a good chunk of the movie's audience will consist of bronies so catering to them in a way would insure success at the box office, but at the same time they have to stick with the intended age group because they are a business first above everything else. To continue MLP's success would mean relying on getting the right people to handle the movie, and in turn Hasbro will acquire a lot of money from a combination of ticket sales and toy sales. You got it. Obviously this is why they also extended Gagne's contract of two months, he's an extremely talented animator and having him more time will allow them to do an even better work.

Sly 236 December 12, 2016 Author Share December 12, 2016 (edited) I just hope the movie doesn't end up sucking. Don't worry. Like I said the quality of a Movie is always reflected by the competency of the people who work in it, and for this one, they're hiring some of the best ones, not incompetent ones like the people hired for movies like Ratchet & Clank, Cars 2 and Norman of the North (I know because I checked by myself, go to IMDB if you want to look personally). This movie will be decent at the worst possible, or an instant classic at the best. Edited December 12, 2016 by Sly

It's probably worse than the recent sponge Bob movie. Possibly. Normally i would agree with this in many regards, but Hasbro as a company is changing, and from my understanding they have been very lenient on how the show is written and run from how they used to be. I am sure they want to sell some product with this film, but they seem do be just as equally interested in letting competent people write and direct it and try to put out a worthwhile film... and that gives me hope the film itself will be pretty good. Honestly we will not know much else until details about the film itself start leaking out more so we can base our opinions upon the film instead of just who is making it. 2 ~No profound statement needed~

Without those precious toy sales, they won't earn any money, and in turn would mean them taking some drastic action. It's all about the business to them as corporations care only for the bottom line.
