ManaMinori 4,149 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 It seems sad that the writers have put Rainbow Dash in a position where she wouldn't be spending as much time as she used to, now being a Wonder bolt, and presumably still weather captain of Ponyville. Those two careers, on top of map summons and saving the world from evil, scheduling time to spend with the remane5, or alone, would put a lot on her plate. What then should be done with Scootaloo, since RD is now tasked with more assignment and responsibilities than ever before? In my opinion, I think the writers should have Scoots come to meet Daring Do through Rainbow Dash, and be taken under her wing, have the fact that she can't fly be acknowledged and worked around (there's always her cool scooter tricks), and be resolved to leave Ponyville to go on epic adventures with Daring, while being able to branch out to cover more ground helping others find their purpose (and bring back the letter writing of earlier seasons, by having Scootaloo keep in touch and tell of friendship learnings to the other CMC back in Ponyville) What do you guys think? Jeric 46,884 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 Nah. This has a practical and easy solution. Ignore any impact Newbie Dash has on Rainbow's time for the sake of plot convenience so that RD and Scoots can still have episodes together. I mean, you know this is exactly what they would do.
Megas 28,146 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 (edited) Stop focusing on Applebloom so much and start focusing more on Scootaloo I doubt the writers intend on actually making Dash's WB status impact the character I really don't think their relationship will take a hit, at least as much as people think. Right now it's just a matter of Scootaloo getting more focus period Edited December 13, 2016 by Reinbow Dash

Miss 6,239 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 (edited) Omg no. Scootaloo and Daring Do that sounds forced af also there's just no correlation. Nowhere in the show was it implied that Scootaloo even likes Daring Do. The show would probably give Rainbow Dash some free time. I mean she has time to chillax with Starlight Glimmer, play some pranks on some ponies, play Buckball, going to a Daring Do convention etc. So doesn't seem like she's too busy. The map episodes are also few and far between so I hope season 7 just puts an end to them. Maybe that's what the show is going for to make the show back to more Slice of Life but I doubt it. So yea the show makers have been avoiding a ScootaDash episode for a long time now and there hasn't been a proper follow up to Sleepless in Ponyville in my opinion. I say if anything we will probably get an episode that starts with Rainbow saying "Alright so if I'm gunna take you under my wing" out of the blue and shock everypony. Then blahblahblah training how to fly, something happens where Scootaloo ends up falling and Rainbow Dash is incapable of getting to her and Scootaloo ends up saving herself and Rainbow and Scoots both end up learning something about themselves. But yea that's seem like the easiest route imo. But who knows maybe the show staff might shock us with some crazy twist episode, we meet Scootaloo's and Rainbow's parents and omg what! a BugBear shows up out of nowhere and BonBon beats its ass! Oh no Peter Griffon to the rescue! But yea I love Scootaloo and definitely wish to see her get more episodes! She's my third favorite character of all of FIM Edited December 13, 2016 by Misscellanio
Tropical Melody 7,562 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 It does bother me that Scootaloo has no supporting "background" or family members - I mean, she goes to school, and then what, goes home to an empty house?? Other main characters have had parents shown if only very briefly, so gaping hole here! 1 REDWINGS HORSE SANCTUARY www.redwings.org.uk
cmarston1 5,964 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 I still want to see Scootaloo's inability to fly yet her wanting to emulate Rainbow Dash be addressed. It could put both characters into in interesting position and could help make their relationship engaging and more dynamic than say Applejack and Apple Bloom. Where the latter is becoming a mini version of the other.

Actually not a bad idea. Would be a good way to set up a direct conversation about a physical limits. RD really touched on this well in Flight to the Finish during her motivational speech, but a nice follow up potential exists. As far as Daring Do, the only plot device that comes to mind is one that has RD and DD with Scoots, and Scoots not being a fan of Daring Do books in general ... or something which can set up a decent moral about hero worship. Scoots worships RD and RD worships Daring. There is a story in there somewhere. RD has to be involved though.
EmployeeAMillion 70 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 (edited) I say there should be at least some recognition of the fact that Scootaloo's still essentially a chicken. Season 7 finale: Celestia ascends Scootaloo into becoming a pegasus, I'm calling it. Edited December 13, 2016 by EmployeeAMillion

BlueStreak98 828 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 I feel like there has to be some sort of way to address this through the context of a friend moving away. Like, sort of develop it along the lines of what ended up going wrong with Starlight Glimmer, where Scootaloo starts to get frustrated, but instead of turning into a psycho she reaches out to friends who alert Dash, and Dash finds a way to work things out. silvadel 1,393 December 14, 2016 Share December 14, 2016 Scootaloo could always learn to fly, find out it isn't the be all end all, and move along with her life... Who am I kidding? When Scootaloo learns to fly, getting her out of the AIR will be the problem. 3 Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
sweetolebob18 728 December 23, 2016 Share December 23, 2016 You are worried that Dash will spend less time with Scootaloo. Except for the camping trip in Sleepless in Ponyville, & the fan club meeting in Mare Do Well when did Dash spend time with Scootaloo? I must have blinked & missed it. cider float 2,539 December 23, 2016 Share December 23, 2016 I think it'll take some really steep set of episodes that all connect each other to separate Scootaloo from the rest of the CMC now that their destinies are all intertwined. That sounds like it would take a spin-off just for Scootaloo and doubt that would happen nor would it be very profitable.
