Will we ever see an episode with rebels?

Maybe not necessarily rebels of The royal sisters, but of "the machine", rebels of the idea of the Tree of Harmony controling ponies with their cutie marks and predetermined destinies, and keeping them happy and in harmony, with no other choice due to death by Wendigo freeze. Do you guys think we'll see a group of ponies with this mindset against the Tree, and seek another way?

There is  no evidence the TOH has anything to do with the lives of any other ponies except the mane 6 and the royal sisters. So not sure what anyone would gain in "rebelling" against it or anything else. They also do not seem to have anything to do with the Wendigos, which are more affected by the overall love and friendship felt by the citizens of Equestria itself.

I don't think that we will see anything like that.

First of there's nothing that suggest that the tree of harmony controlls ponies cutiemarks. Also there's no evidence for the tree of harmony having anything to do with the Wendigos.

This sounds like a map episode! Two of the Mane Six get sent to somewhere like Yakyakastan, or the Arimaspi Territory, where the leader did something bad, and the people don't like it. It could be a potential friendship issue, to stop the rebellion! So if we're getting a rebellion episode, it's probably gonna take place among other spices.

We did sorta get a glimpse of the concept of rebels in FiM in one of the alternate timelines, but that is probably as far as they will take it. I don't think any of the ponies have an issue with the tree, it seems to be doing a decent job at what it does.

Aren't Cutie Marks an inherent trait of the pony race? They've said nothing that implies it comes from an external source.

If there was ever a rebel to any of it that would have been Discord. </topic> :P

Unlikely that the show will allow any opposition to the oppressive Celestia regime.

Also would not want my little cousins watching it thinking that they're rebels. Already hard enough to deal with.

Why would anyone rebel against the tree of harmony, the thing that held the weapons that saved the entire country multiple times within the past couple years alone? Heck, I don't think anyone even knows the specifics like that there even is a powerful tree in the Everfree forest outside of the mane six, Spike, the princesses, and Discord.

The Tree of Harmony doesn't affect the lives of ponies and most don't even know it exists. In fact, only the Mane Six, Spike, the two sisters, and Discord are aware of what it is. In terms of actual rebels appearing in the show, the season five finale kind of hinted this through the Chrysalis time line. Here, ponies under Zecora's leadership were seen as rebels fighting against the Changeling horde who had effectively conquered much of the kingdom.

In this case, the rebels were good characters fighting against an evil force. The kind of rebels you're thinking of might not happen given the show's age dynamic.

We already did with Starlight and her village seeing cutie-marks as a divisive force in the world and an enemy of true harmony. Rather than the violent, angsty, flailing rebellion the OP perhaps wishes for, it was a calm, tightly controlled, false happiness cult.

hahahaha, are you serious? ok, look. The map is connected to the tree. First off, this map- and by extension, the ToH, has enough sentience to know where ALL of the ponies are in Equestria, to be able to guide the mane 6 to them, via Booty call of their cutie marks. Not only that, but it can sense everypony's energies- to be able to tell whether all is in its ideal vision of harmony, or not, which would require aforementioned mane 6 booty call, to rectify the situation. Already, this tree is hitting NSA/ Illuminati levels of creepy surveillance. Then there's the fact that there's ponies cutie marks on the ToH, most likely all cutie marks come from the tree, and every pony's cutie mark is their pre-determined destiny that must not be allowed to go against- also tied into the tree, as seen by the royal sister's, and Twi's cutie marks/ Most likely everypony else's. Thus, everypony is being controlled and monitored, MUST following their "special talents", which were issued by and predetermined the ToH.

seems fitting cause for a rebellion  of blank flanks to form and go against the Tree's agenda

So what? That is all your headcanon there. I can say the tree actually births the ponies if I want to... we can all invent whatever we like and call it as fact if we close our eyes, cover our ears and pretend the show is airing our imaginations. There is NOTHING that has said that is where cutie marks come from, if anything it is strongly hinted against that very idea.

I never said the MANE 6 were not under some form of destiny, but that does not mean anyone else is, nor are they being controlled. Sure the tree sends the mane 6 off on some quest to solve a problem somewhere somehow, that just shows it knows there is a problem going on and it even knows who to send to fix it. That is really no different that the thought by some people here on this very Earth who prescribe to the idea that the very planet is actually alive and sentient and knows where we all are and what we are all doing at any given time in a vague sort of way, and is powerless to do anything except try and guide people in the most subtle of ways. How about that for shattering your headcanon... the map is connected to the tree, the tree is connected to the planet/land... maybe it is the land itself realizing the problem and trying to do something to rectify the problem to protect both itself and the ponies of Equestria. After all, unhappy ponies lead to pissed off wendigos over time which is bad for everyone all the way around. It may not have anything to do with the wendigos, but it most certainly I would imagine knows what they are and what they can mean to the future.

And NONE of that proves any sort of "control" or even being "monitored" as far as day to day life goes. Also what are you even suggesting anyone rebels against? Their happy lives? Even if the tree or planet or whatever is doing some manipulation... as far as everything we can see if is for the betterment of the ponies of Equestria... so... again, rebel against what? Happiness? Safety? Harmony? You think they would prefer to be living like the griffons, best case scenario, or in the worst one, inside a glacier?

So yes, I am very serious in my answer and unless you can show me something that proves otherwise without throwing some fanfiction at me then it will remain my answer.
