Would you buy ponies from Goodwill?

I like thrift shopping. If I can save money- I will. And I get excited when I find pony merch of any kind (even bad quality stuff) at Goodwill. I don't buy it, but I'm happy to see it there. I recently discovered that Goodwill has an online, almost EBay-like store, with lots of pony merch listed. So I'm pretty happy. Do you guys ever browse secondhand stores for pony merch?

I usually pass on it because they want as much or more than what you can get it for on ebay, I don't really shop goodwill anymore because they got really expensive and they stopped having anything nice in the stores because they list all the nice stuff either on ebay or on goodwill.com and people bid it way up

My first paying job was at a Goodwill store and I bought a Derpy Shirt and Rainbow Dash & Pinkie Pie Shirt there!

Less than a week ago I found a couple of pony plushes at a Goodwill. They're a nice part of my collection. They're in good shape, too.

Yes I would,  actualIy got most of my collection from  thrift stores and unlike buying online I can inspect the condition right on the spot. I can't tell you how many times a seller said oo this pony is in gorgeous condition and once you get it there is some huge flaw to it. For example my cousin bought a So Soft Truly (gen 1) from someone online now the pony looked really good in the pictures we saw but once she got her and opened the pony up. All inside of the pony was covered in rust and pindot mold so I rather much prefer to see it in person. Also you can find some rare ponies at thrift stores not to long ago I found Stardazzle (dream beauty) and my cousin found a Derpy brushable.

Yes, I have and I will continue to do so! My entire G3 collection came from Goodwill over a two year period. I've also found a number of G1s there as well - two Cotton Candys, Bluebell, Firefly, and baby Crumpet :) Never all at once, though! I do leave behind a lot of G3s now, especially ones that are primarily pink (I just have too many pink G3s...). I don't think I've ever picked up a G4 from Goodwill. They're definitely the most plentiful, but...eh.

The only other secondhand stores I've bought ponies from were antique malls. There are always G1s at the shops in my hometown, but the prices usually don't make it worth it. I usually do pick up at least one every time, though.

I check out Goodwill and thrift stores every so often, but I've yet to find a single piece of pony merchandise at one.

Probably not... God knows where its been. I don't ever buy anything from Goodwill cause usually when I go majority of the things I see are on the verge of breaking. Maybe if I found shirts because I know they were cleaned, but not toys or other collectibles.

  • 5 months later...

The last time I encountered pony merch at Goodwill, I chose to pass on it because the merch, which were a couple little ponies with brushable manes, were too expensive and were in nasty condition, they had dust caked on them, were stained with what looked like mud (at least I hope it was mud), and were covered in scratches, they also stunk.

If I find something good at Goodwill that is fairly priced and in decent condition, I'll grab it.
