Thoughts on the Captain Underpants movie?

If you haven't heard, there is a Captain Underpants movie, and I heard it's great. If you guys have seen it (I'm going to finally see it on friday!), what are your guys's opinion? I'm finally happy to see the waistband warrior go from book to film. Been a long-time fan of him!

I haven't seen it yet, but i might see it eventually.

As someone who read the books as a kid, I am happy to see it get its own movie.

Plus the animation looks really great.

Imma tell you right now: I had my doubts, but it is one of the most faithful book-to-movie adaptations I have ever seen. It's not a spectacular movie, but I felt like a worry-free little 3rd grader watching it. I enjoyed it.

I loved this series of books as a kid, so that already makes me want to watch it. The fact that it got shockingly good reviews helps too

I do think the movie came far too late though, should have released 15-20 years when it was big

I loved it. I was a fan of the books as a kid, so seeing all the little nods and references plastered here and there made my inner child so happy.

Plus the film was just a thrill to watch, with more than a few scenes making me and my friend howl with laughter, like when George and Harold used their silly names from the fourth book. Speaking of which...

Anyways, I went and saw the movie yesterday for nostalgia's sake. Can't say it was on par with my favorite animated films, but you know what? It was a cute, respectable adaptation. I remember back in elementary school wishing they would make a Captain Underpants movie and that has finally come true.

I just watched this, this thing deserves a sequel. The movie is AMAZING, and the ending is telling that this movie is in desperate need of a sequel right away.
