Am I the only one that's REALLY freaking excited about Mania and Forces? These 2 games seem like a dream come true, a good 2d and 3d game in the same year, god bless I've been waiting for this for so long:D Does anyone else here like sonic games as much as I do?:^) Let's discuss these games, share thoughts, opinions, cause I wanna hear more of them.

Hopefully either of games can get this series back on track. They have been trying so much to make Sonic relevant again and failed over and over. I sorta lost most interest in all types of Sonic games a long while back, but I can dream that maybe if these games have success, then Sega might one day make a random, out of the blue dedicated Chao game ala Sonic Adventure 2. Or at least bring back the Chao's.

I had lost my interest in the franchise aswell, but I replayed EVERY good sonic game in 2016, and it got me back on track. Really excited for this still, I don't see how they could screw this up.

Well, heck yeah, I'm excited. I've had a feeling that Sonic was gonna make a comeback, and I'm fairly confident that this is it.

Same here. Sega kept making bad games with a few good ones inbetween. We've had enough bad games already, time to get sumthin gud :3

In my opinion, the series has been bad since the jump into 3D. I know i might get flag for this, but i think even the Adventure games on the Dreamcast are not good, considering it has frustrating controls and is very glitchy at some parts.

HOWEVER, i bought Sonic Generations for the 360 in 2011 (also rebought it on Steam) and i still think this is the best Sonic 3D game and knowing that alot of the people who worked on that game also worked on forces, i think it has the chance to become as good, maybe even better then generations.

But i don't think Sonic will become culturally relevant as in the 90s, considering Sonic was a product of his time and never really changed, so it's hard for kids of today to identify with him, compared to the early 90s.

I'll have to disagree on the 'bad since 3D' point, but sure, everyone has their own opinion. And I 100% agree that the adventure games had some pretty bad controls SOMETIMES, which had me hitting the screen, but I still think that they're a classic. But yeah, sonic was just something "new" back in 90s, cause of it's fast gameplay, it won't have that much of an effect in today's world, but it still has a good chance of bringing the good ol' times back :^)

Hey, i like the sonic games on the genesis (which is why i have no doubt that Mania will be really good.) And i also hope that Forces will be really good. But i just remain cautious, considering that Sega has promised us several times, how great their new sonic game will be (sonic 06 is a great example) but i give them the benefit of the doubt.

Being a Nintendo Player, I didn't get a chance to play the great, but hard to beat, classic Sonic Games until Mega Collection was released for the Nintendo Gamecube!

I enjoyed the Sonic Adventure games when they got ported to the Nintendo Gamecube, warts and all. And I did get some enjoyment out of the 2 Storybook Series (Secret Rings w/ Arabian Nights and Black Knight w/Arthurian Legends) for the Wii. The last game I've played was Sonic Colors and despite not beating it, it was fun for me!

The 2 upcoming games look fun and as long as I can have fun with them, I will consider them good games!

I'm going to be cautious with these games, as Sonic has been struggling in these last years

Well, yeah, we're still not sure whether they're really going to be good or not, but I don't see them screwing this up personally :^)

Sonic Mania will be great for sure, and that's what Sonic 4 should have been. Also, catch music and physics from the original games!

Sonic Forces I am also looking forward to.

Yeah, exactly the same here. But I'm thinking about the drop-dash thingy, dunno how to feel about it, everything else is from the older games which is great, but this new move seems a bit off, we'll see I guess.

It is very nice to see the folks here in the MLPF community being more positive about the upcoming games than the Sonic fans on actual Sonic sites, like the SEGA boards and Sonic Stadium especially. Those sites are toxic cesspools of whiny babies crying about how bad Forces is going to be. I personally think it looks good. Generations got a nice reception so I'm confused as to why there's some vocal fans hating on Forces which looks a lot like a Generations sequel but with hopefully more to the story and a nifty character customization feature. I don't care for the idea of wisps returning nor the inclusion of classic Sonic honestly, but I can see why they are both included, and I think the game looks like a great deal of fun. As for Sonic Mania, I am extremely psyched. It's truly shaping up to be what Sonic 4 should've been, and I am blown away with the creativity and and just how true to classic Sonic games it is. I honestly feel like I'm back in the 90's again. :D I just had to pre-order the collector's edition for PC.

But yeah, I know Mania will do great and I really am pulling for Forces to be better than the haters are predicting. I think this is definitely the most exciting year to be a Sonic fan in a very long time. I lost a lot of interest in the series starting with Colors because I disliked the direction the series was going, but I can safely say I have a renewed interest in what was once an all-time favorite game series that I've been a huge fan of since I was a kid. I can't wait for Mania and Forces. :pinkie:

I've been on Sonic Stadium before, most of the people there are toxic from my experience. Main reason I left that site was because of its cynical community.

Enough about that. Sure, looking at everything negatively is not going to change anything, so why not just hope for the best ay?

I played the original classic Sonic games back as a child. Especially Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles being IMO the best of the franchise. You get Super Emeralds and Tails gets to become a Super Flicky Tails. Have played Sonic Racer and it was meh, but a fun distraction.

Sonic Mania looks and sounds promising. Haven't heard about Forces and what kind of 3D Sonic game its going to be after Generations and Colors. So, I'll look that up on my free time. :)

I've never been a huge fan of 2D Sonic. The 3D games have always been better imo.

Because of that I don't particularly care about Mania (I'll probably still play it at some point...when it's cheap) but Forces looks absolutely amazing. I will be preordering it.

I just hope they go back to giving us memorable songs like What I'm Made Of and Live & Learn. Orchestrated video game music always sounds cheap and lazy.

I'm excited too. Both games are great recipes for those who like to play old-school and those who liked 3D games. Personally, I'm eager to play Sonic Forces more as we can FINALLY make our own Sonic character OC so we too can save the world from the infamous Baldy McNosehair.

Heh, Baldy McNosehair.

I really liked the humor in Colors. Generations didn't seem to keep that trend up even though it tried.

I'm not hyped much about the OC stuff, it's more about getting another GOOD 3D game after Generations.

Mania is going to be good. 100%.

It's the 3D game I'm worried about, since SEGA hasn't been too good with them lately.
