Anyway, how would you rank the seasons of the show, including 7 so far, from best to worst?

6 is not bad for a cartoon, but it was just less enjoyable then the others.

• Season 4 (Mostly because of that finale <3)
• Season 2 (If only I liked Canterlot Wedding more than I did...)
• Season 1 (Plagued by bad CMC episodes, but otherwise really good!)
• Season 6 (Would have been better with a better opener, and some of the episodes were pretty bad.)
• Season 7 (So far. But it was close to last in the beginning of the season...)
• Season 5 (I don't know why, but I found this season much less enjoyable than a few of the others.)

S5 is still the best, though I can see S7 taking its spot if they keep it up. S3 gets much more hate than it deserves, an part of it is because of its short length, which is kind of bullshit. S6 was the most frustrated I've ever been with the show, to the point where I almost quit watching

That's awesome to hear, from the poll S6 is definitely on the low end for most people. What in particular puts it at the top for you?

As I'm currently reviewing all the seasons, Seasons 4, 5 & 7 aren't complete yet... as a result the current order looks like this:

I rate the seasons on an average based on the quality of episodes within them. Season 3 had less episodes, but balanced between poor and great to come out quite average, but worse in comparison with the others I've reviewed thus far. Season 6 had so many great episodes that it sat atop my leaderboard even though I lambasted it a lot for not taking enough risks and delivering stability in its quality. As for Season 1, it was rocky and misaligned despite containing some classics and Season 2 is fine, but has more poor episodes than many will give it credit for. Then again, Season 2 as a whole is still better than Season 1, it certainly ended and started better that's for sure with more consistency in between than its predecessor.

It was early as well, so it still had more room for character development than subsequent seasons, and that helps it a lot for me. 

2. Still have a soft spot for season 1. Not sure I'd say most of it is as ambitious or interesting as any of the later seasons, but it has the second-highest number of episodes I like, and it's the only one to actually pull off a season-long arc in the form of the mane six's growing friendship. I still think most of these episodes are really charming.

3. Season 6 is the best the show has been since season 2, and it's exactly because it scaled itself way down from season 5. It didn't quite bring back the freshness of the first three seasons, but it toyed around with episode formats a lot more, and I generally liked its episodes more than seasons 4 or 5, although its back half was pretty inconsistent. And the novelty of Starlight's arc papered over its issues for me. 

4. Season 3 is short, uneven, and ends on my least favourite episode, but it's weird and experimental, and I have a soft spot for it because it was the first season I watched entirely as it was airing. Also, this was right after the still fairly fresh season 2, and parts of S3 were basically season 2.5, so I appreciated that. 

5. Season 4 has a lot of pleasant episodes, but at this point I felt like the show was running out of steam. Season 4's best episodes simply feel  great, even if they're not always particularly substantial, i.e. "Pinkie Pride." However, this is where I felt the show started to begin relying on a lot of gimmicks which didn't actually advance the characters very much, and at the time it wore me down, though I've grown more fond of this season since.

6. I'm actually gonna put season 7 a bit higher than I usually do this time around, if only because it's improved in its most recent episodes and has the potential to improve a lot over the rest of its episodes. But man, until "A Royal Problem," it's a real slog, and it has a curiously hard time putting its best morals in its most entertaining episodes. Hopefully the forced feeling of the first quarter isn't carried over to the back half. 

7. I genuinely like season 5 less and less with each episode I re-watch. I still find it to be the most inconsistent of the seasons, and while it does have a lot of emotional high points, I find a lot of it to feel incomplete or even joyless, and a lot of its lighter episodes just aren't very good. Most of all, I just hate the whole "mane six as mentors" thing, because I feel it severely limits their growth. I'm glad the show has backpedaled since.

So far, Season 7 has been pretty great and I think it will take the spots somewhere near the top eventually.

Although I'm not one hundred percent on the order ( I'd need to watch most of them again to be sure ), this is a rough draft on my feelings towards the subject.

1) Season 4 ( Took loads of risks, had the most constant story theme among the seasons with the keys and it had the best episode of the show by a long-shot ( Twilight's Kingdom, which still gives me a rush to this day ) )

2) Season 7 ( Not completely sure about this one as an entire entity yet, but so far it has a really consistent episode quality and feels really different to the other seasons in a great way )

3) Season 5 ( The most consistently good season with only a handful o episodes that I didn't like. It sort of began this new era for the show, and I don't think that it gets enough credit for that. The finale kind of sucked, but hey, what can you do? )

4) Season 6 ( Gets WAAYYY too much hate from the community. I began this era of the Mane 6 taking a bit more of a back seat, but I don't understand why this change is considered a negative one. It introduced plenty of new aspects that would become key elements in Season 7 and in that way it did it's job very well.

5) Season 3 ( I straight up have no idea why on Earth this season gets so much crap thrown at it by about half of the community, Yes' it was a season of change and new ideas, but I thought that it executed them really well for the most part. The only thing that knocks it down is the length. It's over too quickly in my opinion )

6) Season 2 ( A season of complete extremes, having some of the absolute best that the show has to offer, but also having some terrible episodes that I would prefer not having to sit through again. That being said, it's soundtrack is still the best of any season by a comfortable margin )

7) Season 1 ( Dragged down massively by each episode having to have the letter to Celestia at the end, it's a good season that established the show that we know and love today. However it's easily the weakest season in my opinion and I really hope that that sentiment will continue to stand in the future )
