general How do you feel about Halloween?

So what do you think of the spookiest holiday?

I personally LOVE Halloween! Its so much fun!!! You get to dress up as anything you want and go out in public to show off your cuteness/spookiness! Whats better is that you get treats for it!!! I may be 19 but I still go out in costume and eat delicious candy! This year I will be an anthro kitty character (not my fursona).

Some people think its an "evil" holiday, which it pretty silly to me. To each their own I guess. What about you?

Halloween is a triple holiday for me. First of all its costume day. It's also Día de los Muertos so my alter goes up. Finally its my Temple's Memorial day to remember those that have passed into the Force.

Sounds like fun! I hope this year's Halloween will be great!

Me too. Looking forward to it. Only wish I could afford a good looking lightsaber for my costume this year.

Have you tried looking online for good lightsaber props? I got mine from Amazon and fixed/edited it myself to look more realistic.

Awesome! I love it a bit more than Christmas sometimes. Depends on the year.

Eh the plastic ones are not the sort I want and the metal props are ok so I might go with one for now. But as I practice HEMA I really want to get a sparing saber.

I'm not sure where to get a sparing one. I hope you get to complete your costume! You'll probably get a lot of people to take pictures with you. XD

Oh you can get them from places like saberforge or kyber sabers. They just cost about 6 or 7 hundred if you want a fully light up/sound fx etc.

Xmas outshines everything - that makes me love Halloween even more so.

Well, I personally don't care about Halloween that much anymore but i think it's nice that there is a day where kids can go around dressed as their favorite "bad guys", collecting free candy from shops. (Here in Finland we don't go door to door on Halloween, that's Easter thing.)

So in the spirit of the thread does anyone here have any traditions for the holiday other than maybe taking the kids out for candy? Like I said I put up my Day of the Dead altar. I also spend time in meditation on those that have passed into the Living Force.

There was a time when I didn't really care about Halloween too. Some people convinced me it was just for kids. I eventually said "f*ck it" and decided that holidays are for everyone.

I like to shop at a store called "Spirit Halloween" and certain local thrift stores every year! I also draw Halloween stuff for my DA every year. :)

We might not celebrate it the same as in America, but we do celebrate it in a way of that amusement parks or zoos are set in a creepy environment and in the night. This is the second time we will go this year and I'm excited.

That aside, I love Halloween. I really like the spooky atmosphere and it's just really cozy to me in a way. I would call it my favorite holiday despite not really celebrating it like I stated before.

I really agree with the cozy part. I love all the creative ways other countries celebrate holidays like Halloween. :)

Well, here in Finland it is pretty much for children. Sure there is Halloween parties and other things but generally the official side is for kids, no adult gets free candy, and only people who dress up are kids, their parents and some people who go to parties.

But me not caring about it is nothing to do with the fact that it's for kids, I just don't generally care about holidays.

Exactly! Halloween is a really creative holiday. There are so many ways to celebrate, so many fun decorations and don't forget the costumes. I really like it. :D

I think it is a nice holiday to make autumn even more special. Sadly we don't really celebrate it in germany.

That sucks. At least you can enjoy it on online if you so choose. There are videos and art you can look at if you want to get in the spooky mood! I recommend watching Rob Dyke on youtube. He does all sorts of creepy videos that might give ya the Halloween spirit!

One thing that bothers me is lack of its support. The selling point is all candy now. That really ticks me off. Like... Walmart pushes Halloween costumes to Bumfock, Egypt or to the back where the plants hide. Today's marketing will put a sour taste in your mouth...even prior to Halloween. Thank God for sites like Party City and Spirit Halloween.
