animation The new Ducktales cartoon.

As you might know, Disney XD recently rebooted the classic Disney Afternoon cartoon Ducktales. Here's the link to the pilot:

What do you think? For those of you old enough to remember the original Ducktales, how does it compare?

It was okay but I didn't think much of the new voices for the nephews. I can understand this is a reboot, but they didn't change Donald's voice so why should they change the nephews'? I did like Webby, they made her a little more quirky which was fun.

I am loving the new Ducktales. Bonus for Doctor Who fans, David Tennant ROCKS as Scrooge McDuck! I just learned moments ago that Catherine Tate will rejoin Mr. Tennant when she voices Magica De Spell!

Pay attention producers. THIS is how you do a reboot!

Oh. Oh. This didn't already exist?

@PathfinderCS ... Just so you can see the crazy show I'm about to put on ... time for Nonsense with Jeric!

DuckTales 2017 is the best cartoon on TV and that is saying a lot because I'm a die hard Rebels, Pony, and Stephen Universe fan. To make this show stay on for at least five years I am prepared to sacrifice a Turkey for the ritualistic and highly spiritual "Jeric wants something" dance. It has been passed down from generation to generation.

Behold what I will do for more DuckTales!!!!

Show is hella good. Crazy good! Even Webby and ... ok ... stop and think about that ..  they actually make Webby cool and fun. What sort of Disney Witchcraft is this?

Yeah I'm a fan.

Fucking Turkey Dance Good. Gobble Giggle man.

I'm so thirsty for more episodes of this show that I'm marathoning the original series just to know more about the origins of the world being reimagined.

Speaking of Webby, did we all catch this little token of, uh, affection from the background artists for the old version of the character

I didn't catch that originally, but one of my kids did. Nice little Easter Egg.

The mansion has a lot of old comics and previous generation thrown in as memorabilia, for Easter eggs for people to notice.

As a HUGE fan of the Barks and Rosa comics, I absolutely love how they are folding that into the show. This current reboot feels like a marriage of both the comics and the 80's show ... and it improves on flaws found in both. Seeing comic exclusive characters show up or get mentioned makes me squeal each time like a kid at Christmas. I felt like I was in on some sort of secret inside joke when they introduced Webby's new friend ... because that is a big comic character that never made it into the original show. And then there is Della Duck. Wow.

Little touches in this show are great. Pep cola is probably one of the more obscure nods to the original show. If I see Pep gum, I'm going to flip.

So...I feel this would be a fandom shaking question if it belonged to ours:

Favorite triplet?

Maybe a bit too early to answer, but I have a soft spot for the loose-cannon but sentimental Dewey.

(Coincidentally or not I always liked him the best as a kid because he wore the blue shirt, despite the triplets being identical in every way.)

I haven't seen much of the original since it was a bit before my time (I like what I have seen of it, though), but I've been really enjoying the reboot so far. On the topic of Webby, while I don't really have any issues with the old one based on what I have seen of her, I do like the new one better. Not sure if I have a favorite triplet.

And if anyone is wondering when it's new again, a Christmas episode is airing on December 2.

Still been watching the old Ducktales series off and on for reference fun. A decent bit of background entertainment while I breed Pokemon. Surprisingly, more pop culture heavy than a lot of modern shows. They had a whole Star Trek parody episode and regularly throw in little catch phrases of other things.

Anyways, watched an episode with a rogue robot called Armstrong and remembering there were several of those I had to check back at Gyro's list of evil robots in the new series:

Oh dear, I thought Robotica was supposed to have had a good ending in the old series.

The visual joke game is so strong.

It's my favourite currently-running show! I can't wait for the season final in two days.
