Shaq-Fu: 2 The Legend Reborn Thoughts

So Shaq Fu 2 just released it's new trailer, and I'm not sure what to make of it. I have the first game on Sega Genesis, and yeah, it's pretty horrible. What do you guys think? The new game is also confirmed to be on the Nintendo Switch.

Literally no one asked for this, but I feel like it's actually a cool opportunity. I've heard many people say that film studios should stop remaking movies that people already like, and instead use remakes to give bad movies a second chance. Why not do the same for video games?

I don't like that it's pretty much only advertising on it's predecessor's failure. Yeah, it wasnt great and was really cheesy, but it wasn't ET levels of bad. I am interested in seeing how much it differs from the original in the coming months though, hopefully it is much better.

Why would they allow this to be given the greenlight to proceed? I know the video game industry loves to rely heavily on nostalgia but there are some games that should remain in the past and never see the light of day again.

I played Shaq Fu on the SNES and Sega MegaDrive. It’s one of the worst fighting games ever made to be conceived by any mortal. And I love it .

 

Whoever thought about making this game was either a genius or a madman. Shaq Fu’s only downfall is its delayed mutilated controls which makes playing the game harder than it should be. It does have potential to be a decent game if the controls weren’t so delayed.

 

I did like the ridiculous story in this game about Shaq trying to go through another dimension to save the young boy Nezu from the dreaded Sett.

 

As for the sequel, I just have only one thing to say,

 

”I hope the controls are tight and responsive, but kept up with the ridiculous Z-rated plot about Shaq fighting evil monsters with his Shaqido and throwing Shaqurikens”.
