Well, I'm actually talking about your aura. Its a Hindu concept I much agree with. I just mean you like to think that the ultimate joy to life is experiencing all you can and strive to be happy through physical experience. You tend to always be doing something and you aren't likely to be found at home doing nothing. It has a nice energy to it, so to speak. I'd probably benefit from being friends IRL with such a person.

Oh right :P, I live by the philosophy that people should live life how they want to and do/believe whatever they want to believe as long as they don't hurt other people, or themselves though I find that less important than the other people part. Doesn't mean I personally believe in or agree with the things that people do or say but I respect their right to do so.

None of us can know for sure, but to me personally, it just seems unlikely. People often think I'm anti-religion which I am certainly not - I just can't force myself to believe something, even if I would like to sometimes

No, but what does make some people view it as fiction is that there isn't actually any proof that the events that took place in the bible actually happened.

READ THE BIBLE!!!

You have to read it, open your mind, and read the New Testament where Jesus talks about our life, purpose, love, etc.

The part that I have problem believing actually happened isn't when Jesus preached about love and that stuff, but more when he walked on water, made the blind see, raised the dead, turned water into wine, etc etc.

Also, that still isn't much proof. I mean, you could use the same argument to "prove" every religion. Like, I doubt that you'd convert to Ásatrú  even if you opened your mind and read the poetic edda.

No, it's a book that might be the word of god. You can't expect me to take bible as the ultimate evidence just because it claims it's the word of god. I mean, what differs the bible from any other religious text?

The Holy Scriptures were breathed out by God and written by men. Do your own research and see that it's true. Only when your a true, born-again christian, then you have calm, inner peace and know that you are saved and will one day see Jesus in Heaven. Why do you think Christianity is the biggest religion in the world? Because it's true!!!

Because everyone who didn't convert got burned at the stake.

Funny, every other religion in the world claim the same thing.

I have done plenty of my own research, but I've yet to see anything that makes the bible more likely to be true than any other religious scripture.

I don't want to get wrapped up in some big debate, but I must say that I don't find that very convincing.

No, we all know it's true. It makes sense if you read it.

A, I'm not an atheist. B, I fail to see how I'm ignorant. C, Even if I was ignorant I fail to see how you're less ignorant than me.  I mean, you dismiss other faiths just as much as I dismiss yours.

Well no, your just ignorant, and just wanna denounce Christianity and to annoy others.

Other religions aren't true.

And they make no sense.

And there is no love in it.

Once again, how am I ignorant?

Also, I don't denounce Christianity just to annoy others. In fact, I don't denounce it all. I just doubt that all the bible is a historical record of events that actually happened rather than being a collection of  metaphorical stories.

Let's not pretend that Christianity makes anymore sense than any other mythology.  For example, how does God creating everything out of nothing make more sense than Odin and his brothers creating the world out of the body of Ymir?

Have you read the bible? There's really not much love in it, take a look at the book of Job for instance.  Besides, there's plenty of love in other religions.

History isn't even a record of historical events,

The bible was written so long ago that it might have some historical record of what happened way back then,

but how does anybody know if any religion is real,

we don't but instead you either believe or don't believe but just stay peaceful and respect everyone's beliefs, we'll know one day if any religion is real.

I don't believe in Christanity or Islam or Judaism or some other religions counted in the census but I respect your beliefs

When I was young, I believed into god and was also every week in the church. But when I got older, I start to think about it. Main reasons were my interest into natural science (Big bang Theory, Evolution Theory, etc) and some personal experiences in my life who destroy my faith into god. For example, my Grandmother was a really religious and really nice person who never hurt somebody but helped when she could. So, why had she suffer so long in the time when she died? There are so many things why I can't belief into a god (or something similar). When I was 20, I finally left the church and became an atheist. For me personal, God doesn't exist. Maybe I am wrong, who knows. But I just can not believe into him.

I have no problems with other religions, but what I can not stand is when people say that their beliefs are the only truth (btw.: When somebody say that his/her belief is the truth, why he/she still call it belief and not fact or knowledge?) and that I have to believe it. Belief is something everyone has to experience for himself. No one has the right to say "you must belief that". I don't have the right to say to a religous person "stop believing into god" and nobody has the right to say to me "start believing into god" or "you must believ into my form of religion". People who do this are the real ignorant people for me (especially when they use violance).

Job you say? Satan came to God to ask if he could inflict pain and hardships on Job so that he might curse God.

God only allowed him to cast the inflictions to show Satan that Job still wouldn't curse God, show Job how insignificant he is and how he only had his riches through God, and to test Job's faith in God. God later gave Job twice all the riches he had. See? You read only the bad parts and judge the whole Bible.

God also let Satan kill all of Jobs children and his workers. But I guess that's okay if ob got twice the riches back/s.

God only allowed that to happen so Job can rely fully on God. God also wanted to show that he was only rich through Him. He showed Job just how bad he would be without God.

Satan wanted to. God allowed only. They all went to heaven. Duh.

Why do you focus on only negative points?

I can do this all year man.

The bible never mentioned that they all went to heaven (not that that would justify their murders either). And God is equally guilty of their murders as is even if he only allowed it.

I don't only focus on the negative points, but I tend to give them a bit more attention because most Christians ignores them completely.

There's not a whole lot of positives to slaughtering innocent people.

It has come full circle. I said in my post that many deities within their scripture are extremely petty and murderous. Here we have case number....a bunch.

You are focusing on the OLD TESTAMENT. The NEW TESTAMENT is when Jesus came to earth to change everything: love your neighbors, do good to those who do bad to you, etc.

Ya ya ya yada yada yada. You people denounce Christians because of a story in the Bible. we may never know why God allowed that to happen.

Muslims, budhists, monks, etc, all kill people if they don't accept their own views. There is NO love in their religions.

I do belive in a higher power. However I am not religious, mostly because I don't really have the energy for it.

"Let him who is without sin throw the first stone". What about the crusades? Or the  inquisition? Or all of wars between protestants and catholics? Are all of them acts of love?

That was in the dark ages when Christianity was mingled with other views. Catholics persecuted Christians because they didn't follow all of their views.
