Well, now that I have nothing to do for a few months, I think I'll give this another go. This might be my last, though. If it doesn't work out this time, I think I'll just move on to other things. It would be nice, but it's not for everyone.

 

Regardless, this is something like my 12th "try". If it passes the two week mark, it'd be the 4th most successful, but I'm hoping it'll go on beyond that. I will say, though, I'm already hopeful for this one. It feels as if this is clicking with me much more than it has in the past. So here's hoping this work's this time. God knows I'm ready for it to.

...I think. I've lost count.

 

But I know that feel. For me, it's not that I don't think I can, it's just that I lack the drive. I just lose the will to continue at some random time, and stop there. It's mostly a matter of motivation at this point.

 

But, I've thought through the benefits and risks. After a year and a half of thought, I've concluded that this can be nothing but beneficial. So, I'm reluctant to let this go.

I don't mean to sound creepy, and if this is too invasive you don't have to answer, but have you ever flirted or had romantic intentions in regard to your tulpae? (Would they know automatically if you did?) Or to either of the mares, have you felt that way toward Riz?

A little update :

Vocal responses from Zephyr !!!

Her voice is very quiet, and I can only hear her while strongly focusing on her, but that's amazing already.

 

Also (has this been said before ? Can't quite remember), I heard an interesting tip on checking vocality/sentience/whether or not you're parroting :

Ask your tulpa to surprise you.

Now, Zephyr seems to have trouble to control her body as nothing happened when I told her that, but when I asked her to say something to surprise me, I heard a pretty clear response that made me laugh a lot, so I guess that's check !

Update:

 

My tulpa is still quiet and inanimate. My imagination is weird because every moment there is a surreal imagine passing through my mind. Focusing like this has always been hard, but for every time an imagine has distracted me I hope that doesn't count as time taken away from tulpaforcing.

To an extent, yes, but they can only use the knowledge of a host to do so. Let's say for example, 678 + 4078. Now, you might not know the answer offhand, just by looking at the problem, but a tulpa could possibly figure it out themselves using simple mental math. Of course, they couldn't use your knowledge to find out the meaning of life or whatever, but they can figure out simpler things.

I'm kinda upset today because I've finally lost the drive to press on. All my hard work has already left me and I feel like a monster for denying existence to a sentient being. I'm an introvert and talking to people burns me out, but I still don't understand how this could have caused me so much frustration. The whole tulpaforcing thing sounded too good to be true anyways.

@@Stancet, A little advice for you: Try again in a week or so. Until then, reassess the situation. Try to pin down what specifically caused the problem and see what you can do about fixing that particular thing.

 

Alternatively, something that's helped me recently is picking a significant day to begin. It could be a day that's special to you, or it could just be a Sunday. Either way, I find a strong starting point to be helpful.

Well... I don't know if tulpas are allowed to speak here? I don't know, because I understand that a lot of people looking at this thread will be people new to tulpas. (at least that's my guess.)

 

To introduce myself, I have a count of (now) six tuppers. Teckie (as seen from above), Pinkie (usually "molded" with Teckie :/ ), Scratch, Fluttergrace, Fade, and now a new tulpa in the form of a grey and dark-green cat (doesn't have a name yet...). 

 

I have a "fairly" large amount of knowledge on this phenomenon and of how the brain works now. It's all personal research really, so it's not quite official.... just pretty much major concepts I have formulated to create a larger understanding.

Ya... still working on formulating a plan to get this information out in a "logical" manner....

 

T[ Hey! We are doing a pretty good job on that though! Made a short story based off of the idea of "hearing voices" so that people will read it and find out the truth behind this fact. It's a bit of a "dark" ending... but the idea behind that is that there is a great moral that people wouldn't so easily dismiss. ]

Well I have officially started forcing the past couple of nights and progress def. has been noticed by myself. I've been using a placeholder orb atm and am skipping personality. Anyway, the best thing to do is have faith that your tulpa can do something and he/she will be able to do it after he/she is told how to do it. Personality isn't quite necessary to form, and personally it would be interesting to see what your tulpa's personality turns out to be! I'd just like to add, it's good to have meditation skills. Meditation can really add a LOT of progress over a "short amount of time" (phrase you've used above). Should I tell my friend that I've found a way (tulpa) to boost my memory recall, with the risk that he'll ask for specifics and cart me off to the loony bin when he finds out about tulpas? I recently talked to him about a bad time in my life regarding a certain person, and he asked if the reason I remembered that event was because I'd reestablished contact with that person. I said no, and left before he could ask how I remembered the event.

Teckie: We've sort of had that problem more than once..... the truth is, it can be difficult to predict their reaction. One person we told simply said that the only problem he had with us was that we didn't just get to the point instead of continuing to tell him to have an open mind. What you should do is different for every person you confront, so I guess the only thing I can do to help is to link you something that might help you decide: click for link 

 

I guess I should expect at this point that Teckie will be speaking before me in conversations. >.< Well, just like she said, it is a little difficult to decide whether or not to tell people about this phenomenon. The best thing to do, though, is to make sure they don't interpret it the "wrong" way. I can only imagine how people might react.... so I'm just planning on creating short stories and research papers relating to this topic so that people get a different perspective on the matter.

I tend to have a brief mini-hypothetical with people before I consider springing the topic of discussion on them. It goes something like,

 

"Hey, imagine if a ghost suddenly entered your brain and couldn't get out. But it was an entirely friendly ghost, and really liked you and who you are and what you do, and is pretty funny, and had its own commentary and insights on things, and its own perspective on life and everything, and even taps into your memory to help you remember things on occasion, if you ask it to. It wouldn't interfere with your life, respects your privacy, and is generally a very, very good friend to you. Would you mind this?"

 

I've had more than one person say yes so far. Very enthusiastic yes, actually.

I know I probably shouldn't create more tulpas before getting my first tulpa vocal, but I've been feeling hopeless when it comes to developing tulpas. Rather than give up, I decided to create a Rainbow Dash tulpa. Soon after creating her, I suddenly felt braver and more confident, and I might actually do something noble that I would never even consider, I was actually seriously considering it and I still am.

 

I think I'm gonna try to honor the elements of each of the ponies my tulpas are based on, although I'm not sure what Octavia's element would be (possibly creativity?)

 

Edit: Took a nap, and close to 1 hour in, I kept hearing weird noises. At first, they kinda sounded like a dog barking, then they started sounding mechanical, like some kind of buzzing or something. My windows in my bedroom are shut, and I know my fan doesn't make those kinds of noises. The only logical conclusions are either my heat vent is somehow making those noises (very not likely) or Dashie (or one of my other tulpas, or possibly my spirit guide) is trying to get my attention. The noises got louder and louder and clearer until I finally got up out of bed, and I wasn't even partially asleep when I heard those noises.
