gaming What game was the hardest to beat (ex getting 100% and similar stuff) and why?

Ah the good old question for all gamers, which game was literally the hardest you ever played and why was it so hard to beat it? For me the hardest game i ever played was the Ninja Gaiden NES Trilogy, those 3 were a nightmare to beat and i still proudly wear it on my belt of accomplishments of beating them WITHOUT cheats like some pansies might :P Still with me 100% blaster master zero 1 on switch and soon me getting the sequel on the switch im really curious to hear what all you guys/gals played and how hard it was to beat too?

Now there are some games im just like... ugh that aint really hard its ment to be like that, like the fnaf games prime example (IF you wanna call them games lol) those games are like ment to be stressful and difficult to do because of the stress, its not really well... in MY OPINION not that much of a game as getting the ending is super easy and not worth the outcome, now i have played some of the FNAF games dont get me wrong, but that was years ago when the hype was big and now its kinda well... died off for me, but you do you ^^ If you like fnaf and find it hard thats your preference x3

Anyways enough rambling, lets hear what games you guys had severe difficulty beating and why was it so difficult :D

The original Ninja Gaiden. Game is hard as nails and I remember spending an entire day to beat it. It's tough, but fun. Only thing I really hate is that bullshit thing where if you die at the last boss it sends you back three stages.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Probably a Megaman game, seeing as how I actually beat some of those

Bloodborne is the hardest game I've played, I still have yet to get passed the opening area

'Getting over it with Bennett Foddy' is by far the hardest i've played in a long time, if you count it as a game. This game is purposely designed to hurt you, from the slight slip ups that put you back at the start to being constantly taunted by Foddy himself.

Dizzy... you have not witnessed nightmares if you have not played Dizzy...

Also, Metal Gear Solid. Big Boss. 'Nuff said.

I spent a looooooooooong time on Tomb Raider 3. This game not only has challenging levels but it also won't let you save your game peacefully: saves are collectible and limited!

Nowadays I play Tomb Raider 6 which is also hard to beat but not for the same reasons. There are so many bugs and glitches, the game will crash even before you finish a level!

was the hardest to beat

Eh.... Was? No. I haven't beaten "Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 Plus" yet.

Why? Because the conditions for beating it are ridiculous at best:

1: Get at least 2 tetrises per 100 levels (done).
2: Play the first 5 sections (100 levels per section) in under 1 minute and 5 seconds (done).
3. Play the remaining 5 sections 2 seconds faster than the first 5 sections' average time (failed).
4. Play the last section in under 45 sections (done... only once).
5. Have at least one tetris in every of the 5 remaining sections (except the last one, section 9) (done).
6. Have the grade S9 at level 999 (done).
7. Get to level 999 in under 8 minutes and 45 seconds (failed).

8. If all the above conditions are fulfilled, survive at maximum speed and gravity with a completely invisible stack, for 1 full minute to achieve Grand Master grade (that is 1 minute of blind tetris at max speed) (failed).

For 100%, get at least 20 cleared lines during the invisible 1 minute gameplay (failed).

My best so far is grade S9 orange line (that means I survived 1 minute of semi-invisible stack at the end), with a time highest than 10 minutes at level 999. Here is the video:

It's actually dirt easy once you figure it out. Not the worst game ever.

Probably one of the more annoying games I ever got to 100% was Yoshi's Island on the Super NES. Some of the levels, especially "bonus" ones, were fucking insanity. Like rip your hair out in frustration insane. Still not as bad as Kaizo SMW levels but daaaaaamn close.

A good runner up is DKC3 at 103% or whatever it was. The later worlds are absolutely vicious. No mercy whatsoever. I can still do it but it makes me want to punch my monitor in aggravation.

@The Historian I've 100% completed Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island once. It's something I don't plan on doing ever again, given how tedious and frustrating it can be.

Dude. Friggin' tell me about it. That game gets absolutely insane the further in you get. It can be done but good friggin' god does it make you want to snap a controller in half. I did this in the era before emulators on the console itself. Talk about rage inducing. But even though it gets difficult, the game is just so good that you keep playing.

The core game is great, but fully completing it is a whole different beast.
