Parties like Pinkie 385 June 3, 2012 Share June 3, 2012 I was thinking, as I somehow manage to only do when I'm suffering from lack of sleep, when I realized: Badges may be good, they provide a sense of accomplishment for those who've earned them, and a goal for those going for the "Brony" badge. However, there will be a day when badges won't be all that great anymore, and that day is when, in the future, that 80%+ of us have the "Brony" badge. It won't be that special anymore, since everyone will have it! Now, down to the main reason for thinking this: Make more badges? I had something besides the bird for awhile (not the parasprite one) and then I got the bird again. I just wanted to know what it was since i though they were all related to post counts. I am sure someone will, do something about it. Maybe they already have? Maybe after Brony there is a badge, for 10,000 posts, but what's better than a brony? Oh right! Normal, real-life person! I figure if I can achieve a socially acceptable, then I will win at the forums big! I'm not sure I have the willpower to adapt for that one though. Interesting concept... I see a great mix of many different tiers of badges from great contributors, and those who stuck around long enough to get over 3500 posts are likely sufficiently invested into the community to not get bored simply because there aren't as many badges left for them anymore. We can always shuffle the badges around if the need arises, and we could also look into getting more of them created. The badges are like a personal achievement, not something to compare myself to others. It shows my dedication to posting here, especially when I would like to think that each of my posts count. I only have 113 posts so far, but honestly, that's the most I've ever posted on a single forum. I think that, at the least, means something! That new one was discovered with all the badge glitch hubbub some days ago. 3 My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. Also, everyone posts at different rates, so it will take some of us longer than others to get all of them, that is if they stick around long enough to do it(I likely will).
