general Have You Been Injured At Work Before?

I work in a mailroom and injuries aren't uncommon. I've ran over my toes with the post offices cages, and hit the back of my heel too. Cardboard cuts are also the worst. Never had anything serious luckily.

Peeling and shredding carrots. slice into hand. NOT FUN :(

Luckily we got rid of that dangerous contraption. After my boss cut herself on it too.

I sprained my ankle at work once and they were really jerks about it.

The worst on the job injury was when I was working as a cave guide. I was sweeping puddles off the cave pathways before opening for tours and I hit my head on a stalactite really hard. By this time I had already been working there for a long time and had warned guests to watch their noggins countless times in that same spot, so I felt just a little stupid falling to my knees with blood pouring out of my scalp before the work day even began. My hair was a real mess after that (adding insult to injury). But I got on my feet and continued with my work as usual. I was shamelessly looking for sympathy all that day but didn't really get much. Oh well.

Sorry that happened but hitting your head on a stalactite make me laugh. :lie:

Fortunately, any injuries I've had at work have been very minor. Worst one I had was when I was cleaning some machinery and as I was trying to bend down and clean the lower parts, I accidentally bumped my knee into it. Hurt for a few minutes, but was all good after that.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Yes, january last year, I wanted to lift a pakage hich was heavier than I thought. I lifted it wrong (although I know how to lift them, but I had a migraine attack on that morning before and maybe, this was the reason why I did it wrong) and hurt terrible my back. I still suffer from this injury.

Besides this, I had typical things like cuts and bruises. Oh and that one time when I worked in a company who build big party tents and I fall from a 1 meter high platform. It hurted, but it was luckily not heavy.

At my old job, I accidentally cut myself on a blade used to cut cardboard and I was bleeding all over the place. If I didn't happen to bring my own band-aids that day, I would've had to call 911 since there was no first-aid kit. Man, the amount of things I should've sued for. :double-shock:

At my current job, I've had various minor injuries from bumping into things or dropping things on myself. I've also passed out there at least three times but I was fortunate enough that someone was usually there to catch me.

Mostly minor injuries, some slips getting out of the truck on wet or icy days, strained muscles from cranking up a trailer that had its landing gear down too far with a heavy load on it, the worst one was when I wrenched my back while pulling a pallet and the pallet jack decided it wasn't going to move any more.  That one laid me up for a  couple of days.

It was some shitty temp job.

It was a factory that made blinds for windows, my job was literally to just cut and stick a strip of plastic to the top of the fabric. It was mindnumbingly repetitive and put a lot of stress on my index finger and thumb, after 2 months my thumb started hurting quite a lot so they told me to take the day off. Next day they said don't come back.

A good reason I don't believe in company loyalty, moment you get injured they'll get rid of you for something else.
