There is a gaming platform that I recently discovered called BlueStacks, and it allows you to play mobile games on a PC. It is free software, so I would recommend downloading it. Here is the link - https://www.bluestacks.com/

yeah, I've not ever had it work, I might try using remix os on a vm,

android is great for films and tv shows too

It works fine for me, but I use Windows 10.

I used BlueStacks a couple years ago when my pc still had Windows 7. It was quite glitchy and slow at the time but it's probably better by now.

I think the only game I was able to play was Sonic Dash  :dash:

more of a mobile emulator than a game platform though, and can be glitchy. May install it though - been planning on using my new machine for some dev, and I bought some mobile dev stuff on humble bundle a while back, so why not?

Huh, interesting. I wouldn't mind being able to play the remastered versions of Sonic 1 and 2 on PC. I might give it a look.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Don't they have those on Steam?

The versions on Steam are pretty much just a port of the Mega Drive/Genesis versions. The remasters of Sonic 1 and 2 were only released on mobile. Only the Sonic CD remaster got a PC and console release.

Though one could call it like this, it's not an actual gaming platform, it's just an Android emulator. This software simulates a mobile device, allowing you to run applications designed for mobile. It doesn't have its own library of games, it just allows you to browse and install mobile apps, just like you'd be using an actual mobile device.

Anyway, I used it years ago for a while back on Win7 and it indeed tended to be glitchy, as mentioned by other users.

Also be warned, unless something has changed, it's not a 100% free software. To be able to use it, you either have to pay monthly fee or allow it to install random applications it throws at you once in a while. Imagine these ridiculous ads in mobile games, except here it goes that step ahead and actually installs these applications on your device. Just keep that in mind, to not be surprised.

I’m very familiar with this software over the years as it was a favorite among games who liked to modify save files to hack games and such.

Many YouTubers that focus on mobile gaming use BlueStacks as their emulator if choice to do recordings. I don’t have any use for the software since I have an active development account and Android Studio allows emulation on modern devices and games (YMMV depending on your laptop or desktop since it’s a resource hog :P )
