The All-Unicorn Buckball Team

So, a question popped into my head while I watched "2, 4, 6, Greaaat" about a year ago. It just reentered my head, so I decided to ask you all what you think. In the episode we see that Celestia's school has an all-unicorn Buckball team. This is strange because the game requires a pony from each type. The unicorns are able to pull this off because of a magical dampening ring and temporary wings.

To me, this felt kinda like defeating the purpose of the game. The whole point of Buckball is that the three types of ponies all have a role, and they need to co-operate together. It's part of the reason I thought the game was cool. Having this all-unicorn team really just seems like a cheat.

It also makes you realize a bit how...overpowered unicorns can be. The fact that there's a unicorn only team in a game that requires all three just proves this. I know that we've seen the wing spell before, but it really seemed to stand out here. At the core, the spell kinda makes pegasi seem useless (even though they aren't). It all seemed kinda fishy.

So what do you all think about this? Do you think Celestia's team defeats the purpose? Do you think this shows the power of unicorns? Do you think there could be a pegasus and an earth pony team? Just let me know, I'm curious.

More importantly, the unicorn team WON! This conforms that unicorn is master race and should rule equestria(besides alicorn) with EP and pegasi as secondary citizens. 

Not sure if celestia's team can compete in a real competition though, its probably just a silly game to unite the schools somehow. Is it defeating the purpose of the game? Perhaps, but if they can make it work then its fair enough(although those butterfly wings are certainly not going to match a well trained pegasus, the earth ponies through are disposable if I am honest).

Were you not paying attention? The players were wearing anti-magic devices  to level the playing field.

What's the point of making a big deal out of this when they're clearly trying to be fair to the other team using temporary resist guards and wings. It's just a sport game, not a rise to political power

These magic damping rings are awesome BTW. Also, that pony has a similar CM(and mane color a bit too) to twilight herself.

Ah, no! Pegasi forever!!! XD

Although on a power scale the unicorns have the high ground. As a pegasus fan, it sucks how OP unicorns are. But I can't do anything about it. Plus, pegasi don't need to be the most powerful to be the coolest . I would've liked it if the traditional team won. It would've been like: "Ha, you technically altered the rues of the game,  yet we still beat ya."

Most unicorns have pretty weak magical skills, but they have the potential to out compete the other races, they can control the whether(rarity did in magical mystery cure), not as well as pegasi but it can be done if they have the appropriate CM, some unicorns can connect with the earth(like mistmane) . I actually am a bit disappointed they did not addressed this issue, would have been cool if a unicorn actually wanted his race to dominate the other races, would have made a cool villain with actual motives instead of taking over the world because he wants to, would have given a chance to show how powerful are the EP and pegasi. I guess there really is no need for this, they build a powerful and dependable society working together, so they probably will never think of fighting each other again(they kinda abounded each other in the series finale, but they did not fight each other).

Yeah, at least unicorns sorta have that fact that not all are very powerful. It helps balance things out a little, but still far from balanced. A unicorn at full or close to full potential totally overshadows the others...sadly. I sorta wished that the show did a better job at trying to keep the pony races somewhat close to balanced. Although then I wouldn't be able to talk about it on forums.

The idea of a unicorn wanting dominance is an intriguing idea. Surly would've made for an interesting episode(s). It would also be interesting to actually see earth ponies and pegasi trying to match the power of the unicorns. I do think they would have a chance, but it would need to involve a lot of teamwork. Quite a concept!
