Zephyr Heights is Canterlot

Considering that the city looks almost like a mix of Cloudsdale and Canterlot, I had wondered if something along these lines was the case. As for why the pegasi moved from Cloudsdale to Canterlot, it most likely has something to do with the magic being gone, which would unfortunately make Cloudsdale uninhabitable. They probably chose Canterlot due to being near Cloudsdale and due to being fairly high up. After moving to Canterlot, it looks like the pegasi changed most if not all of the buildings to look more like the buildings of Cloudsdale (the architecture being Greek/Roman inspired). Now I wonder if the unicorns had already left for the forest before the pegasi came, or if the pegasi took it over while the unicorns were still living there. Also, I wonder what some of the other pegasus cities/towns will be since I find it unlikely that every pegasus in Equestria lives in the same city.

On more of a side note, it's sad to see Cloudsdale could be completely gone. That city was my favorite location in G4 due to how unique and interesting of a location it was. Unfortunately, the city got hardly any screen-time throughout the series, making it wasted potential. I was hoping that Cloudsdale would be featured a lot in G5, but it seems like that won't be the case now. I do wonder though, if and when Equestria regains magic, would the pegasi potentially want to build a new cloud city that resembles Cloudsdale?

Well, this certainly is interesting. It would make sense that Cloudsdale no longer exists when magic disappeared. I wonder what happened to Canterlot though. Also, why is it called Zephyr Heights?

Great to see familiar locations and I’m glad the Canterlot Castle was kept. I’ll miss Cloudsdale a great deal though. :(

I hope Ponyville is alright. :worry:

Zephyr Heights already looks a lot better than Canterlot anyways

Honestly I kind of prefer Zephyr Heights lol

Canterlot was at the side of the mountain. Zephyr Heights is clearly at the top of it. The waterfalls seems supportive on the theory tho. Anyway, nothing confirmed, but makes sense. We have wait until release and see how Equestria evolved anyway

Well! That's a neat little detail. And I echo others here that it highly suggests that Cloudesdale has become uninhabitable due to magic being central to the city. Zephyr Heights resembles their ancient homes, and with them being pegasi, having a home in the clouds makes sense.

One thing's for sure, Equestria has certainly changed over the centuries. I'm really curious to how much has changed and why…

I find it fascinating that they were able to take the seat of power for the former nation. That warrior pegasus heritage versus the posh elitism of unicorns must have really come into play with the loss of magic, but then what about the royal guard? Did they simply disband, fight among their ranks? Suffer a destructive defeat prior? So many questions!!!

Almost at the height of importance, is whether this dominance is more the result of cultural differences, or if there were certain advantages still maintained by wings even in the absence of flight magic.

I am disappointed by flight magic being a thing, because while it gives us something to explore, what about the numerous other species that could fly? Are batponies, griffins, changeling, and so on all ground bound too? The world feels somewhat,,, smaller when you factor that possibility, regardless of the exclusive focus on ponies.

Strange random thought... But what if Cloudsdale, when magic disappeared, FELL on Canterlot?  Then Zephyr Heights was what they built with the remains of both cities?  I'd hate to think the magic to fly just poof and suddenly all those pegasi fell right through the clouds without warning.  Hopefully it was more gradual.

I do believe that it is the same mountain but I feel like people are forgetting that Canterlot City/castle was on the side of the mountain, not even particularly high while Zephyr Heights is clearly built at the very top.
