movies/tv Netflix Experiencing Massive Losses in Market and Stock Value

Hasbro may not have the made right move putting G5 on Netflix after all, their money and stock is bleeding right now.

Personally, I can't stand Netflix, but I'm not exactly happy, since all this means if this downfall continues is a victory for another flankhole megacorporation I can't stand like Disney or Amazon. In fact, the commonality I've been reading in reactions to this news is that it's not actually too surprising considering that companies like the aforementioned have been getting a lot better at competing with Netflix and that Netflix has been getting unbearably greedy with price hikes. Of course, there's also talk of their most infamous folly (we do not talk about THAT MOVIE), but we should all know that these companies are all in the same bed. The main reason I care is because I keep hearing bronies crying, "WHERE ARE THE MLP G5 ADS?!", while this is going on with Netflix at the moment.

Finally caught that "not actually not" typo.

Netflix can't make bangers fast enough, for every Squid Games and Arcane you have 2-3 really low quality works and the content that are good enough just cannot pick up the slack

While I do think Hasbro need to consider other options to air their show(I think Nickelodeon would be a good option given TF and MH are having their new shows there too) or other streaming providers, I still think Netflix is a better option than Discovery Family

ah my goodness... first hasbro is a greedy bastard, next Is Netflix?

come on people....

anyway this cheap tactic is common.... other companies copy this said company so their profit would be splitted. hence why Disney and HBO made a copy of Netflix. so Netflix will have a competition and try to kill it by drowning with their own blood.

for example. Disney will make Disney plus, so Netflix will have fewer shares.

sure both of them are bleeding out. but Disney has more money.... so who ever runs out of blood loses... this is what china is also doing... selling very cheap products so no one would buy expensive quality items from their country..... now that that country bled out. it is now weak. then china invades.

Netflix is used for political agenda, propaganda and censorship, like most popular platforms out there. Not that the traumatized collective of this sociopathic society would understand the subliminal effect of social engineering in media, politics, governments, religion, money, pharmaceutics, etc. And their exploitative effect on the subconscious.

The collective is polarized within a closed circuit where neither of the options provided is the answer. To unravel it, you have to unravel yourself, but most are kept busy trying to survive in a predatory system.

I have nothing to say for hasbro. I haven't even watched the movie.

The inconsistency of Netflix content doesn't help, but that's only one factor. The other factor is that Netflix burns through so much of its content by releasing it all at once. Their shows get a weekend worth of buzz before fizzling out. Conversely, other streaming services are releasing their shows weekly which leads to prolonged discussion and buzz.

I honestly do not think they will be alone in the near future.

Too good for too long, and history is repeating itself.

I would say it would be reasonable to bet that Netflix will merge by the end of the decade.

Hopefully this doesn't impact G5 in any way. Aside from that though, I have no problem with Netflix losing market and stock value as I've never cared about Netflix, as I oppose nearly anything that demands a subscription just to access their services. Not that I oppose subscriptions in general, as I think it's fine if the subscription is required to access an exclusive service, optional benefit, or something related to that, but I digress.

Netflix deserve it for taking the rights to shows over TV channels

a bit sad that hasbro put G5 on netflix though, it stops kids from being able to watch it, and it puts it at mercy of netflix, rather than a cable/satelite channel with more subscribers and more money to put behind it

Oof. This does not surprised me in the least.

I was NEVER a huge fan of Netflix. I only watched some stuff that interested me. Given how this streamer had a notorious reputation in recent years, it's no surprise that they'll faltered.

G5 is not going anywhere, but let's wait and see on how it turns out.

Whenever I sign up for a subscription service, I always have to cancel my subscription right away so I don't forget to do so after the payment period ends :sealed:. It's mostly a bunch of news sources that I have to subscribe to for school.

I guess there's only so much a company can grow. Eventually, anyone who wants to pay for the product/service will have paid for it.

Meh, it was bound to happen sooner or later. In the end, I have no hope for streaming services anymore. For a time, I was happy to come back to "television" but it seems like that time has passed, except for "Watchcartoononline" and other similar sources.

It feels like the exclusivity-wars that took over console gaming. It stopped being about the quality of the systems and all about what IP's they controlled. Now the streaming networks are the same way. For a brief time there was hope that it was the end of cable, but that was when Netflix was pretty much the ONLY streaming service. Now if people want to watch everything they care about, they'll end up paying 10x as much as they did with cable. Competition is GOOD for consumers though, right? Right?

Netflix can only lose more revenue as other services spring up. The more competition there is, the less of the pie there is for each of the providers. I'm going to take a guess that this is also a bubble of sorts though, much in the same way that cable TV went insane in the 90's, offering 1000+ channels that had almost nothing worth our time. I could easily see this being like the video game crash of the 80's; the market is fast becoming oversaturated, and it's precisely why the megacorps are in the midst of a buying frenzy. The only way to retain customers is to control as many IP's as possible, which I'm pretty sure even circumvents anti-trust laws.

Just as one example, how many Marvel shows are there right now, both on TV and on Disney+? Far more than anyone has time to keep up with.

I repeat: THEY BETTER NOT CANCEL MY 3D HORSES :Cozy:

I doubt there's anything to worry about that there. Netflix knows how much potential MLP has. The fans kept the show alive on Netflix for long after it was originally going to get axed. Then they did it again. And again. It might as well have been the "Save Star Trek" petition ad nauseum. Granted, the quality in the end will decide its fate, but there's no way Netflix is going to decide NOT to run G5... unless one of the 'replacements' there happens to have once worked as a 4chan moderator around 2010.
