Photon Jet 5,491 April 28, 2022 Share April 28, 2022 (edited) Hello everypony. There's something I would like to discuss. In most gaming streams and social media sites I go to, I see comments and users shouting "Let's go!" with several o's at the end of it whenever something big happened like the team won a big game or there's fantastic news about something. I've seen it used a lot, almost like its some sort of celebration or battle cry which can cause irritation to some others than the rest of the cheering methods, especially when they lose to the team shouting the phrase (and me). I think that can be a problem because other people who hear the cheer could either leave the area with disgust or, worse-case scenario, if the cheer was used in public, they could step up right in their face and yell: Eggman Silence - YouTube Okay, I may be overthinking about how it's used, but I see it as a common trend. It's another thing I need to learn more about. What makes "Let's go!" a popular cheer for everyone in general? Edited April 28, 2022 by Photon Jet 2 Dark thoughts are banished! EpicEnergy 23,218 April 29, 2022 Share April 29, 2022 I used to hear that all the time from streamers back when Fortnite was popular, as they would say it quite often. Anyways, I think it's a popular trend amongst gamers to say that whenever they do something amazing. I personally don't do it at all, as it is somewhat bothersome whenever someone says it frequently. 2 *totally not up to any shenanigans*

SparklingSquirrels 21,342 April 30, 2022 Share April 30, 2022 It’s just a phrase used to express excitement. I suppose in the sense that whatever happened makes you want to “go” do something, like continue your successful winning streak. I don’t tend to use it as a cheer myself but I don’t mind when people do. I don’t actually hear it all that much. If I heard it all the time, maybe it would get annoying. 3 ֍֎֍֎

Sparklefan1234 170,866 April 30, 2022 Share April 30, 2022 (edited) I don't think I've ever said "Let's go!" in that context while playing a game, but I've heard Youtube people say it that way a lot. Patty Thundersnow 4,164 April 30, 2022 Share April 30, 2022 I adopted saying it after a favorite facebook video game streamer of mine used the phrase after he hit home runs in the MLB the show games. I occasionally say it when I hit a home run, strike out someone, or make a big play on defense. 1 "Never give up, because you can't succeed if you don't even try." - Personal Motto "Anything worth doing has risks. They call me Loyalty 1,948 April 30, 2022 Share April 30, 2022 (edited) I do not follow. It seems like a normal phrase used for encouragement, which happens to have become popularized because people tend to mirror each other to form a sense of group or belonging. Human beings are social animals. So, it does not surprise me they will find someting to relate to one another. And this may be one example of that. Dreambiscuit 9,743 May 4, 2022 Share May 4, 2022 It’s just a term for rallying enthusiasm and support. Any word of phrase could be just as easily substituted for it. Shouting “Yay!” doesn’t exactly mean anything either, but something had to represent the mood and that’s what caught on. Personally I always yell, "Let's rock!"

Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,513 May 11, 2022 Share May 11, 2022 If there's an awesome game announcement or I somehow pull off something neat in a game or something else out of nowhere, sometimes I instinctively say "Let's f***ing go!" It is an impulse of excitement.
