I would love to have kids. But the only way that is going to happen for me is if I had magical science babies. And if I did have children, I would want them to be loveable little idiots. The sort that accidentally glue their homework to the bedroom ceiling. Or accidentally set fire to the curtains while playing with their action figures after a special effects mishap.

On paper, I think it's ideal for every couple pairing to have 2 kids just to maintain the population.

I'm concerned about the sustainability of our population given, because I just don't know how it can be with current practices.

If birth rates fall too low, I'm open to creating incentives to increase it with limitations on eligibility.

Some people shouldn't have kids.

No one should be required to have them.

Personally I would like to have at least one, and up to three of my own.

Jeez, that's freaking crazy! :o I know it just counts mammals but wow. We definitely need far fewer humans and lab grown meat.

I'm certainly feeling it as of late, I do want a child. I have to understand whether this is for myself or to give my parents a grandchild, though. I have to understand if this is even the right choice for me. Me, no real career, no partner or hope of a partner, Do I have the patience, the capacity to fully put someone before myself? Could I be a good mother? Plus, children are loud, messy, and gross!! How could I possibly handle that?!

Something tells me that all of these concerns point toward no. But you can't tell me that. No, the maternal urges have hit me like a brick and I can not be reasoned with on this subject matter right now.

Alas, there is no partner in my life, especially not a man. And, as I said, I don't see hope of that happening anymore. Plus, my family is prone to pregnancy troubles. Plus, do I want to actually bring a new life into this messed up world that I feel like is going to get worse before it gets better? This leads me toward adoption. Oh, and after I move. I'm NOT raising a child in Oklahoma. Absolutely not. Children deserve better.

Pro-natalist. I have much respect for parents who are capable of caring for a large family (which I would define as one with five or more children). (Though this is by no means to look down upon those who, say, choose celibacy for religious purposes.)

Aside from a political aspect like China, If you can’t afford another mouth to feed or in a horrible unsustainable environment, then don’t. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to comprehend. Like people would think that without protection and fucking would never ever magically grant you a baby.:fiery:

For my personal case, I love kids but… not planning on having or raising them any time soon, if not ever.

I don’t really know yet. If I have a future spouse who wants children then sure,  but if they don’t want to I’d probably accept that. It’s not really a mandatory life goal for me.

Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for.

Antinatalist here; I don't think society is at a point yet where having offspring would be favorable for those offspring. Life is already hard enough for the current generation I'd imagine having children right now would be like giving somebody a life sentence of torture. If we lived in Equestria I would probably either be neutral or pro-natalist

Definitely anti, without question. There are too many humans in the world as is and I see no purpose bring additional beings into a world that is rife with problems thanks to corruption and greed.

I also hate the culture surrounding "pregnancy" and the adoration people give to those who announce such. Everyone acts so happy and showers the person with adoration, then the child is born and the hardships begin immediately. This social media aspect of it all seems to heavily encourage having children to such a foolish and reckless extent.

It depends on the health of the child. If I had known what I was gonna have to deal with, given my condition. I would have chosen to abort myself. In fact, I was born with the umbilical cord tied around my neck like a noose. Almost like I was trying to end it. But sometimes I believe it may be more humane to end a defective life instead of prolonging it. Take my family for example. My uncle is sterile because of his klinefelter syndrome, and my mother has hypogonadism, which I have inherited as well.

And I am pretty sure she regrets having me, because of how traumatic was the whole birthing process, considering her underdeveloped body and mind. And I don't know what is my reason to be here. Since I am defective as well. So, all the effort from my family to raise them into people that could be functional in society, has been for nothing. Because we have no future. So, it depends. It all depends.

I’m definitely in favor of having children. They are life, and life is a miracle. When I became a mom I was so amazed at the wonderful ways it transformed life into something greater. There’s no way to describe how important it is, and I’m glad I have a second child on the way. I’d have a hundred of them if I could.
