Season 5 final missing Twilight discussion.

Okay, this post is for those who have already seen the season five final so if you have not don't read as it contains spoilers.

 

That our of the way let's begin.

So, in season five final we have Starlight constantly traveling back in time interfering with Dash earning her cutie mark creating a negative butterfly effect on the future.

But with the ONLY exception of the very last bad future where it shows all of world gone so obviously there is no living pony Twilight there comes a big question.

 

What happened to the twilight of those different worlds and why didn't our Twilight hear of her or run into her?

Do you think maybe she was killed off screen by whatever current evil took over or do you think she simply vanished and lived like like a hermit or something simply far too embarrassed by her failures in that world?

Starlight interfered with Rainbow performing the sonic rainboom, this means that Twilight did not get the magic surge and did not manage to hatch Spike. So, she either was not accepted in the school (if this was an actual entrance exam) or was accepted, but became a "normal student like all the others. She most likely got her cutie mark later, probably in something else.

This means that Twilight never became Celestia's personal student and did not go to Ponyville to meet her future friends. Celestia probably found someone else to be her personal student (and that someone else failed to stop one of the threats) or Celestia did not get a personal student at all and had to fight the bad guys herself with varying success.

Right but where do you think Twilight (of that reality) ended up at?

I think due to the sequence of events the show does give us, she could've went back home, got motivation from her immediate family (they seem very loving and supportive regardless of what happens) and spend a good chunk of her life trying to hatch Spike's egg and generally improve her magic abilities. I also don't think she would've tried to do it out of spite (like Starlight did for instance) since she seems more disappointed in herself (maybe embarrassed too) when hatching the egg doesn't work.

Sunburst's backstory would be the closest peek into what could've happened to her since he experienced being sent to the same school and didn't do very well performing magic compared to Twilight. I guess wherever he went is probably where Twilight could've went, which would be hopping around Equestria to learn and self-improve on magic.

Worst case scenario, she starts living under the radar because she doesn't want her family to be disappointed with her when she's spending so much time studying and performing magic spells with "little improvement" according to her, runs into a bad deal with an unknown bad character or amulet or whatever else out of desperation (kinda like Stygian did with the Pony of Shadows), and then gets banished or punished severely for it.

I doubt she was killed. The show does like to banish and imprison characters in different ways though. (Like statues. They LOVE statues!!! EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE A STATUE!!)

Graduated the school and if it is the equivalent of a real-life high school went to the University and was still studying or had graduated and was working there (Twilight seems to be the type who would become a researcher etc) or got a normal job somewhere, probably living in Canterlot or some other big city.

Because there's only one Twilight and she's currently traveling through time, so she can't be in the new timelines (not worlds)

Odds are the tree of harmony's doing something preventing her from paradoxing herself out of existence due to not completing her surge and starting her tutelage under Celestia
