Ganondorf8 11,404 May 28, 2024 Share May 28, 2024 It's best to take a wait and see approach. While the Switch continues to be successful, said success has been slow these past couple of years. As such, they know that the time has come to focus on the next console and begin the transition. Nintendo would be wise to not make any mistakes given their past track record goes regarding successors to consoles.

The red ring of death was just a start, but also to be sure then investment is worth it in the long run, instead of buying it for one or two games and dealing with several dry years full of shovelware Sig by Discords

Nintendo needs to avoid another Virtual Boy/Wii U release and the months that followed.
SkarletVoid 87 March 29 Share March 29 Honestly, unless they announce a new open world Mario game I don't really care about switch 2 1 https://www.youtube.com/@SkarletOctaviaMUSIC Music Channel https://www.youtube.com/@DrunkGecko YTP Channel
Iforgotmybrain 5,878 March 29 Share March 29 Yes… but I’m probably not going to buy it until a new Animal Crossing game or an actually good Pokémon game comes out. That’s what I did with the Switch originally, held off until New Horizons dropped.
Megas 27,821 Sunday at 06:08 AM Share Sunday at 06:08 AM Definitely excited. Love the Switch 1 and there’s still a lot of mystery behind the new console to get excited about. But I also really want a new Star Fox
Iforgotmybrain 5,878 Thursday at 08:50 AM Share Thursday at 08:50 AM Well, the direct event was interesting. New DK game was the main highlight for me, that game looks awesome. The new Fromsoft game is kinda cool but it sounds like it’s gonna be a multiplayer type thing so meh. Not directly Switch 2 related but it was pretty cool getting the release date for the new Deltarune chapters as well, I’m really looking forward to that. I’m a bit sussed out by Nintendo pricing Mario Kart at $80 I think it is? And $90 for the physical edition, which sounds like just a download key from what I read and not an actual physical copy that could be played when servers go offline. 80-90 is just too much for a single game, man. There are very few games I’d say are flat out worth 80 or 90 bucks and a Mario Kart game ain’t one of em. I know there’s the inflation argument to be had about video game pricing, but paying $80 for a game is just crazy. Especially when there’s no way to refund or return the game if you don’t like it. Super especially so when it’s a Nintendo game, games that famously never go on sale or decrease in value on the used market. Can’t wait to pay $70 for a 4 year old game on eBay. Do not like that pricing at all. The actual console price is fine. $450 isn’t great but isn’t terrible either. Do wish that $450 got you an OLED screen though.
Clawdeen 15,612 Thursday at 12:48 PM Share Thursday at 12:48 PM Honestly no. I expected a lot more after watching the recent direct. They've not really done a very good to job at convincing me to pay that much money for the system. Having to pay for the welcome tour is a huge joke. Not very happy with the price point of the games as well although I expected those were going to go up in price at some point. Will I still buy it? Probably but I'm in no hurry for it. 2 * Freaky Just Got Fabulous * Cult Classic But I Still Pop *
Snow 7,688 Thursday at 12:49 PM Share Thursday at 12:49 PM I'm still thinking about buying a second hand switch, excited isn't the word for me when it comes to a new console but for those who are excited I hope they enjoy! beans
Megas 27,821 Thursday at 01:24 PM Share Thursday at 01:24 PM I'll probably end up getting it. The new DK looks awesome as is the new Mario Kart but the pricing for the games is rough, especially when the price for the Switch 2 is, while expected, is still pretty steep for a Nintendo console. I say all this while having the intention on buying Yakuza 0 for the millionth time
Divine plywood 1,246 23 hours ago Share 23 hours ago Not sure if I'm "excited" per se, but I feel like this time around I might actually end up buying the new Switch at some point. I'm more interested about Nintendo console than Playstation or Xbox, so that's a start. I'm much more casual player than in my youth and I don't feel the need chacing the trends or new hit titles. There are so many old classics for me to yet discover. So I might buy the old version instead. 11 hours ago, Snow said: I'm still thinking about buying a second hand switch, excited isn't the word for me when it comes to a new console but for those who are excited I hope they enjoy! Misty Shadow 7,974 15 hours ago Share 15 hours ago I do want to get the Switch 2, but I'm not feeling a strong compulsion to get it as soon as it's available, my instincts are telling me it's better to wait. I honestly don't really mind the price for the console, as I understand that times have changed, we didn't have the insane inflation that we have now back in the days of the original Switch's launch. I do agree that eighty dollars for a Mario Kart game is absurd (you can get an RPG that's 100+ hours long for less than that), but I'm not worried since I'm a total sale hunter. I rarely ever get games at launch, I like waiting for good deals. I will definitely be getting that new FromSoft game, but probably not as soon as I can get it, I hope they renege on the Switch 2 exclusivity and make it cross-platform. Envy 6,218 55 minutes ago Share 55 minutes ago Not super excited about the Switch 2 itself, but am pleased that it's being launched with a new Mario Kart. I would love to get it immediately, but that's not at all likely between my financial situation and the dumpster fire that is my country's government. I hoped to get a SteamDeck before Nintendo's next system, but again, with the way things are, I may have to go for Switch 2 because of it having exclusive games. =( Everything needs more woodwind!
