No New MLP G4 Comics Announced For December 2024

The website Bleeding Cool has published a copy of IDW's December 2024 comics solicitations. For the first time since April 2022, there are no new My Little Pony comics.

It isn't clear how long the absence of MLP comics will continue for, but comic artist Natalie Haines has recently stated that she still has "work for both G4 and G5".

Previously, there had been MLP comic solicits for almost every month since the November 2012 solicitations, which featured My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic issue 1. The only exceptions were June–October 2020 (due to the pandemic), and March–April 2022 (just before the start of the G5 comics).

 

Not that we've seen a lot of G4 comics lately. They've been either "Best of..." one-shots or the "Classics Reimagined" titles. My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined―The Odyssey should arrive in comic shops on November 6, 2024 with a Penguin/Random House paperback edition scheduled to be released on March 18, 2025. 

The My Little Pony: Best of Discord one-shot has a release date of October 30, 2024. 

The My Little Pony: Best of Princess Celestia one-shot has a release date of December 04, 2024. 

There has been a report indicating that  more G4 (and G5) comics are being worked on; however, it's not too unusual for titles to be cancelled before the freelancers working on them have been informed. We should know more in the next couple of months or so. 

Bixie Mathieu seems to be the current editor of IDW's MLP comics.
