Removing One of the Mane 6?

For me it would have to be Rarity, more by process of elimination than for anything else. Pinkie is my favorite, Fluttershy is too adorable, Applejack has a very level head and works very hard, Rainbow Dash usually has the conflicting or no-nonsense approach to things that indecisive characters need, and Twilight Sparkle usually has the smarts to accomplish anything she sets her mind to.   While Rarity' breakdowns are funny, if I absolutely had to choose, they're not enough to really save her.

Rarity, because:

1. Her influence on the series has been minimal recently. She didn't even get her own episode in Season 3.

2. She can be very pompous and self-centered, even though her Element is Generosity.

3. Too proper in comparison to the rest of the cast.

4. Her reactions (or rather overreactions) to everything are funny in small portions, but dosed out in the way it is becomes a hassle to watch and listen to.

Wow! I wasn't expecting so many people to say Rarity! I was under the impression that she was pretty popular in the fandom! I'd say Rainbow Dash. Not because I don't like her. She is my least favorite, but there isn't a pony I don't like in the Mane 6! I'm just not always a fan of her cocky attitude, and I feel like she's had more than enough screen time! I could see her going off to be a Wonderbolt, and appearing in an episode every now and then.

If one had to go, I'd say Applejack. I think she's the least interesting out of the Mane Six. Besides, she's not crazy enough.

I actually like Rarity so I wouldn't want her taken out. I think she contributes a fair bit to the show. Also, I find her character retry interesting. But the 'family orientated' character just isn't as interesting, in my opinion.

There would be no elements of harmony, so the show would probably be a series of ‘slice of life’ episodes surrounding the remaining 5. I actually think that would be pretty interesting, since my favorite episodes tend to be the simpler ones.

Let me get one thing clear: I like ALL of them. I don't dislike any of the mane 6, but if I HAD to choose I'd choose Rarity.

 

I have nothing against Rarity, but the odd time she can get on my nerves.

 

I picked rainbow dash (was gonna go apple jack)

but here's my reason is practical.

 

She's going to be a wonder bolt.  Yes you can say I don't know,

and i think when she becomes a full time wonder bolt its gonna be silly that she's still trolling around with all her old crew all the time.

 

and I don't mind the elements of harmony going away.

I'd replace Fluttershy with someone who doesn't represent kindness while being weak. Too many people believe kindness is weakness, and Fluttershy isn't doing a great job going against that. I don't have a problem with Fluttershy's character, and she deserves the element of kindness. I just don't think a pantophobic pony like her would be great to represent it. 

 

Though I would prefer them all to stay, especially Rarity. But I'm pretty sure most people will say Rainbow Dash now. 

 

I am starting to like her as a lot of people are starting to hate her... Maybe she is a jerk and I'm not seeing that. (Except in Rainbow Rocks, but I don't judge the mane six based on events in Equestria Girls. I even have an entirely different favorite to least favorite for Equestria Girls.)

 

If any, I would want Fluttershy to be replaced or at least make her stronger while still being kind.
