Rarity Birthday Cake - Need Suggestions!

Alrighty, some of you might know already from my welcome post, but I am making a Rarity themed birthday cake for my daughter for her 3rd birthday in July. I've worked with fondant a bit and I know basics for decorating with buttercream frosting, but I need some ideas for how the cake should look. I have a Rarity pony, the one that's like 4 inches tall, and she'll be the cake topper, of course, though I might put some of the others on the lower tiers of the cake. My plan is a three tiered cake (small tiers, not like a wedding cake. This whole thing is only going to be about 6-8 inches tall, minus cake topper.). I want it to be a pretty as I can make it, capturing as much of Rarity's personality as possible! I sew as well, so I'll make her a cute little dress to flaunt atop this cake.

 

Also, I'm a little tight on money right now, so something inexpensive would be amazing! Any suggestions? Awesome ideas? Anything?

That sounds really cool! Good for you being a good parent and going out of the way to make your daughter something special! Anyways, I think that sounds pretty cool. I think I can see what your trying to say. Maybe making the cake colors green and like the grass landscape from the show, or making it like Rarity's color scheme. I would reccomend the grass landscape colors in my opinion, that way you can make the other ponies kind of hanging out on the lower tiers. Whilst Rarity is the main attraction to the cake, and making her as noticable as possible. Just my thoughts. Good luck!

I was thinking the grass idea too.
