What was the very first video game console you ever owned?

The Acornsoft Family computer way back around 1985 or 1986 although this was more of a family thing than anything else.

By myself? A Nintendo Game Boy back in 1991 which I still own to this day.

Same here! Coleco Telstar! Had three built-in games; Tennis, Hai Alai and Handball, I think. And there was an Easy, Intermediate and Hard mode. Simple as it was, I still prefer it to the modern systems. The next I had was SuperNES, quite a while later.

A knockoff NES. It looked similar to this:

Dendy Junior

But it was not this, I do not remember what the model was, but I remember that it had some numbers. Also, the controllers did not have the red buttons, though IIRC the controllers themselves were red.

I only had a few cartridges, of the type "9999 in 1" where it pretends to have thousands of games, but they are modifications of a few real games. I played with it, but IIRC I preferred the PC when my parents finally bought one.

It was fun using the two antennas that came with it to have a wireless connection to the TV and to turn on a TV in a different room and see the game.

Nintendo 64 for the whole family, and a Gameboy Advance much later for myself. I don't actually remember who I got it from or what happened to it, but it came with only a SpongeBob game which I would kind of speed run, and Brother Bear which I didn't quite finish. I did buy a Harry Potter game of some kind, but it was too dark for me to see much so I didn't get very far. Also a Van Helsing game based on the Hugh Jackman movie, but again would get to a point where I was stuck. Skill issue :awwthanks:

I couldn't really afford to get more games and was put off by the two I got being "duds" so when I felt done with the original 2, I was done altogether.

I got this later, but shout out to Pocket Poker!

Wow!  You're way ahead of me acquiring the Coleco machine than I am with the Original NES and Sega Game Gear Dreamy:D

I mean I always shared consoles with my dad and step sister. So while technically our oldest was the Sega Genesis. The Gameboy Color was my first personal console I owned that I didn't share.

My first console was the Leapster. I loved those games, especially the Pet Pals and WALLE ones! I don't have it anymore, though, since it was battery-operated and it was meant to be educational, so I've outgrown it.

Gameboy Advance SP, although at the time, I didn’t actually have any "traditional" Nintendo games like Mario, Zelda, or Pokemon (I wasn’t even into those franchises yet at the time). I just had games that were tie-ins to movies released at the time like Polar Express, Madagascar, and Cars. Oh, and I had Namco Museum too.

I can’t remember whether I got the Wii or DS next, but it was during those consoles that I started getting into Nintendo stuff.

Hey, I was a Leapster kid too! Thomas was one of my childhood goats.

A black GameCube that I got for Christmas, alongside Mario Kart Double Dash, Animal Crossing, and a red memory card. Still have all of those things and they all still work, although I don't have my original Animal Crossing save sadly. My first handheld was a Game Boy Advance SP, the AGS-101 model, how lucky for younger me because the AGS-001 is a huge downgrade in picture quality.
