The direction they're taking is horrible and I'm not even that big of a fan of them... I want to get some hardcore fans feedback though.

Special thanks to Midnightive for the sig~

I guess I just try too hard sometimes and in the end I'm the one who's left, still broken.

Hybrid Theory and Meteora were the only best albums they came out with. I don't like their new stuff, and I would never like to hear them.

I've been a huge fan of them since I first heard their album Hybrid Theory, but this new album has made me lose most interest in their future music. I'm still a big fan, but not for their new songs.

I liked their old stuff off their first few albums. Though I don't hate on their new stuff, I don't listen to it. I have not listened to this latest album of theirs yet, though.

I have listened to them since I was able to walk. Through my first listen-through, I was thinking "What the FUCK is Linkin Park doing? How did they go from an alternative nu-metal/rap-rock to electro-alternative? What the hell?" As I listened through it 1 or 2 more times, I began realizing that it is actually quite nice. it is an...odd change of pace and style for them but the band, now aged in their middle and late 30s, simply cannot preform as much hardcore screaming rage and the direction they are going is good in my opinion. Maybe it's just me being a fan of electronica and dubstep, but I like it. It is definitely better than A Thousand Suns, and I am looking forward to see how much further they progress with this or a new style.

I'm a huge fan of Electro and Dubstep as well, but this new album just sounds meh to me. I'll probably sit out of buying this album and wait for their next one.

Am I the only one who liked A Thousand Suns?

I thought A Thousand Suns was better than Minutes to Midnight... yeah that's my honest opinion!

It's much different from something like Hybrid Theory, but different isn't always bad.

I'll go give the new one a listen here soon so I can give my thoughts on it.

I used to be a Linkin Park fan, then I took a Minutes to Midnight to the knee. As in, they're the band that got me into Alt. Rock, moreso than any other. I'll give it a listen, and get back to you on it.

Okay, I've listened to 3 or 4 songs, and I'll I can say is...

I love it. The inner Linkin Park fan in me adores this able as compared to their past few. They were really floundering for ideas, which is where Minutes to Midnight came from. This CD goes back to where they left off and explores their sound, but in a much more artistic fashion. Instead of aping other styles, they absorb influences and apply them carefully. The style is softer than what they've had before, and there's more electronica then there was before, BUT THANK CELESTIA! They have their nu-metal stylings back, if only in a small way, and Chester is better than ever. My current music rationing can see cracks and flaws, but the fact of the matter is I'm just to overjoyed to see Linkin Park back to being Linkin Park that I can overlook such flaws.

Methinks someone has good taste in music.

I'm wary of anyone who considers "plebeian" to be an acceptable term to be used in describing music. I'm more indie than hipster, basing it off of my genuine likes and dislikes and complexity and emotional content over obscurity. I'll listen to anything as long as it's good, from Johnny Cash to my personal favorite, Muse. The most common comment I get on my music is "weird, but good". I don't think that calling Linkin Park "plebeian" is a fair summation.

I honest starting loosing faith in them after 'bleed it out' .

I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fan, but I love 'numb' and 'in the end' and some of their other old stuff :/

it's sad to see a good band die.

I'm not too much into Linkin Park, but I have a friend who is, and ever since the Transformer movies, they kind of been losing talent. Money is basically all they care about.

I've never been a big fan of Linkin Park, I've never even owned a full album, just individual songs. But, based on what I've heard of this album, it looks like I will never be a fan of them.

Also, Michael Bay uses them too much.

Even though I never listened to them since Minutes To Midnight, I will say that I am glad that they don't follow the same music style they had on Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Why you may ask? Well lets be honest, do you really think they would have been better off having the same sound for 5 albums?

Still, I cant really speak for A Thousand Suns and or Living Things(because I have let to properly listen to it), but someday I will give them a listen. I will try going in with no expectations so that way I am less likely to be disappointed.

Like I was saying, I genuinely like this new album because it keeps the core of what we want from Linkin Park while exploring their possible range.

Okay finished the album start to finish and...

I liked it. That's to say it's not bad.

It's not quite the Nu Metal that older fans are looking for, but bands evolve and change styles. It's just something you have to live with in the music industry.

There are one or two tracks I'd probably label as easily forgettable, but for the most part its a nice album.

I actually like downtempo Linkin Park. And I find it sad to see many fans just fold their arms and say, "Nope, its not Hybrid Theory."

If I were one to score numbers for things I'd give it a 6 or a 7/10, which to people who read magazines think that's Average because anything not stickered with perfection scores isn't good, but no assume a 5/10 is average. This album in my opinion does fall above average to good!

Not sure if I'd say this is better than A Thousand Suns though... I'd have to give it a few listens to get used to it, but it does seem promising.

This is something I think speaks for nearly all walks of media.

Progression is something I think every band should go through.

Certain a band like Linkin Park can find a sound that works for them on day one, but they would grow boring really quick if all their music sounded the same.

Plus making the same music all the time has to be extremely monotonous, and I think Linkin Park realized that around the time Minutes to Midnight came out.

A Thousand Suns flipped the script and allowed a whole new sound to play with and for people to listen to.

Living Things is them further refining what they want to play as a band.

They are what got me into listening to music in the first place, and now, in my opinion, they suck. Really, really bad.

I liked some of the stuff from A Thousand Suns, not all of it but some of the songs were decent. I like their older stuff though way better like In the End, Numb and Faint but oh well *shrugs* people get older and people change. That's the same for bands and music I guess. The new stuff is okay I guess but not as good as older Linkin Park.
