Is there a romantic history between Celestia and Discord?

I used to believe that there was after I watched Keep Calm and Flutter On for the first time, but now I'm not so sure. I even noticed in the ending of the episode that it's everyone who feels weird about Fluttershy calling Discord "sweetheart", not just Celestia. I definitely don't think that it's impossible though.

If they can't skip it.  I mean the last thing i don't wanna see is a discord episode that's a labor to watch.

This is mostly based on the line where Discord said something like "I forgot how boring you could be Celestia." Implies that they knew each other at least a little.

And if Discord was ever a pony I'd think he changed his own form.

 

Anyway it's fun for speculation and fan fiction.

I don't agree with the theory BUT I do agree with Discord and Celestia becoming romantically interested with each other later on in the series. Perhaps spending time with Discord personally will make Celestia a bit more accepting of him and that acceptance kind of lightens up Discord a bit.

Well an strong connection between Discord and princess Celestia does actually not seems impossible.

Proved when Discord gives her flowers in the end of episode Twilight´s Kingdom, Celestia first seems surprised but then familiar of the situation. Like that have happened before, maybe before Discord became insane and the master of chaos they was dating, and then an big accident happened and Discord became the master of chaos, and made chocolate rain without any of the chocolate end up in anyponys mouth

For the last time no. I've always preferred Discord X Fluttershy because she was the one pony who treated him as a person and not as a monster.

I'm pretty sure there is no such history between the to, and while not directing referencing their history, one of the head writers essentially said that there was no shipping between the two.

 

Of course, I like the idea of them together, but my OTP remains Celestia and AU King Sombra.

Writer's confirmed that was just a 'Hurray, we won!' flowers, not 'You wanna go on a date' flowers. 

 

I doubt they have  a past- even though the comics are not canon to the show, I doubt the writers would completely ignore the comics having her be with Alt. Universe Sombra and hook her up with Discord instead. They might have had a friendship, I'm not sure. Celestia and Discord being together could be an interesting episode for Season 5, and it'd be nice Celestia episode- I want more characters to have episodes devoted to them but what else could a Celestia episodes be about?

No, I doubt there was something beyond him being an annoying and/or threatening presence in her life before his imprisonment. 

 

As to the flowers. That was added in by storyboard artists to fill in time. Regardless, it was obvious they where an apology sentiment on his part.

 

But. I'm personally fond of the idea of these two having the potential for a future relationship.

Unfortunately this has already been debunked as only a peace offering. But too bad, this to me could have been a really good canon ship

I'm new here, but in Season 4, the last part of the season, didn't Discord offer Celestia flowers and blushed?

I don't really think so.

There were the flowers in the season 4 finale, but it was confirmed just to be Discord apologizing to Celestia, but the most I see of it is being light shipteasing and nothing really concrete when it comes to this topic.
