Quickly, who had now tracked the muddy hoof prints he realized were Carrick's and Hypno's, chose that moment to open the door. "Heh. Ha, hahahahahahahaha! I made it! I finally made it! Take that Equestria 500!" he says, collapsing on the spot. The sooner we get this over with, the sooner I can see Wings, he thinks, half out loud, with a dreamy look on his face.

Daeva flew off as well and followed Blaze. "Hey, is something wrong?" she asked as she continued flying beside him.

 

She knew something wasn't right, why was he laying on the wall unconscious when she saw him?

"Look, I do not need protection, what happened was my fault, he set a teleportation rune with explosive runes so if I tried to get a closer look they would explode. I can protect myself" Blaze said in a offended manner. "I am fine Daeva, just a bad dream is all" Blaze said. I don't need someponies protection, I need to protect some ponies Blaze thought. As they were heading east he looked down he saw they were flying over a national park the craters of the moon lots of lava rocks created a field of barren sharp jagged rocks. He descended into the field of lava rocks and said "This looks like a good place to train today"

Carrickk saw Quick opened the door as he said boasted about his flying skills...than faint on the ground. Guess he must of fly pretty fast to get here. Guess Wings told him where we were going. I thought so. Carrick thought, Wings did seem like a nice pony. Even if he did hit on Carrick.

 

"Who's that?" The peagsus asked as he saw a fainted Quick on the ground.

 

"Well, just a friend." Carrick turned to the Peagsus. He shurgged, "Alright, tell me what's going on."

 

Carrick explained what happened in the cabin. The many ponies that came around. One of the Ice Star's Generals. He couldn't really describe the pony itself, but he could tell him his powers. He told him that his HQ was around here.

 

The peagsus thought about it, "Well, let me think about it for a second."...

Quick was having dreams about Wings, which, unfortunately led to sleep talking. "Wings... Apples... Taste... East... Cross paths..." he sighs. He was reliving his kisses on repeat. He would also occasionally giggle, and had a smile on his face.

Daeva didn't say a word after Blaze replied her, she just continued flying beside Blaze until he landed on the rocks and asked "Is this a safe place to train? There isn't going to be lava leaking out of the gaps right?" she asked worried about stepping on such dangerous surface.

Blaze chuckled "These rocks are from a volcano eruption 200 miles away from here, the volcano eruption happened about a thousand years ago, back when discord was still around. These rocks are hardened lava, there have been no eruptions of volcanoes in the past hundred years." Blaze said

Daeva was relieved after what Blaze told her. "What kind of training are we going to do today?" she asked.

Thunder landed beside Blaze and formed his armor. "I'm game for some training, I haven't really gotten to use this stuff," he said as electricity started crackling from the armor. "So should we just have a sparring match or do you have other training in mind?" Thunder asked.

"I wanted to try and see how many of these rocks I can levitate at a time, before my accident I could have easily levitated 50 medium sized rocks off the ground. I need to train here until I can raise at least 10. And since this is pretty much a barren field with not much in the ways of life, if you want you can go all out, try your most powerful demon spells out here. Just be careful not to get us caught in the crossfire" Blaze said. He looked down they were standing on lots and lots of rocks. Blaze focused on lifting them, the pain coming to his horn as he attempted the levitation spell. He managed to levitate two rocks with normal power output. Damn, I am not even at 10 percent of my normal power. Blaze thought. He increased his power output levitating 3 rocks when he felt it, the necklace he was wearing started to heat up, he looked down at the amulet, it now glowing. He felt power trying to flow into him, it was familiar, and he realized it was his dads MP Wave signature. Without realizing it 11 rocks were floating around him, his power now at its highest output. He began exausting MP to quickly and started to feel dizzy, he dropped the rocks and sat down for a quick second, the sharp rocks poking him in the flank. "Ow" He said rubbing both his horn and his flank.

Daeva stood there and watched as Blaze lifted eleven rocks until he lost it.

 

"That was amazing! Now it's my turn.." she said with a smirk on her face.

 

She stood in a defensive stance and stomped the ground forward with her two hooves and one back leg, it gave out a medium-sized shockwave that tossed all the rocks away.

 

"That could be useful if I'm cornered.." she thought out loud.

Thunder watched them both and took a stance of his own, he spread his wings out and the armor caused a layer of electricity to form around them that was twice their size. He then rushed forward slicing two large boulders in half, each side was red hot on the area that was cut. "Awesome!" He yelled with glee.

"Wow you managed to focus electricity into plasma torches, plasma torches like that burn at around thirty thousand degrees Fahrenheit" Blaze said. "And Daeva, you have Geomancy? That is insane" Blaze was astonished by the amount of power these ponies wielded, he never knew that there team was comprised of possibly the most powerful ponies in equestria. He began to regret leaving Carrick, but snapped out of it. This was no time for Blaze to start regretting his decision. Blaze pulled out a zap apple and a bottle of water and downed them both. He levitated Zapapples and water to the other ponies also. Finally, it is good to have some of my powers back Blaze thought Doing everything with my hooves and mouth was starting to get tedious. "So after we all eat and drink we could start flying" Blaze pulled out his compass and oriented it eastward "we will be going that way" Blaze said, pointing in the direction of the horizon where the sun was rising from.

Now Quicks dreams shift, back to before the slate. He was dressed up for one of the few public events a Nighthunter of normal prestige got invited to. It was right before he left for the slate. He had been standing alone in a dark corner when an Alicorn that had looked a lot like Blaze walked up to him. "Your father tells me your searching for a lost artifact," said the pony.

 

"Yes, Mr. Pyro. I am looking for the Tablet of Alicorn Island," I had replied. He had smiled at me.

 

"I want you to take this. At some point, my son may need it. And Quick?" he said as he magically placed the necklace around my neck, "If he ever asks you about racing, you teach him what you know."

 

I had felt honored, "Yes sir, Mr. Pheonixtear, sir," Pyro wasn't the most popular Alicorn, but he was a brave colt. A colt that would stand by his friends to the last shot; he made a name to the Nighthunters as a brave man. If you needed sea fare, he was the colt to see. I failed him, I failed his son. What kind of Nighthunter am I?

Thunder downed his Zapapple and drank a bit of water. "I suppose I'm lucky, I don't have to worry about MP the armor does it all and I don't really feel tired or whatever." He said as he stretched out his wings and turned the armor into a jacket.

"Impressive attack you've got yourself there Thunder, could be useful in slicing Ice Star's minion in half when we have to." she said.

 

Blaze levitated a zap apple and a bottle of water over, she quickly finished it went back to her training.

 

Daeva wanted to summon the dragon she summoned last time when she was out of control, she focused and tried to do the same..

 

A huge crack started forming, bits and pieces falling into the gap as the dragon burst itself out of the ground, crawling out of it's home with magma dripping off of his bones.

 

He just stood there waiting for her to give him a command, the dragon was six times bigger than a pony and it was something somepony wouldn't want to be messing with.

 

She decided to call him Draco, Daeva flew up and patted his head gently.

"Hmm. The dragon sure is big, are you sure that it can fly faster than we can? With my flame magic I once made thrusters that took me almost past the sound barrier and I am almost sure that if I had tried to I could have, so what does this dragon have that we don't?" Blaze asked Daeva

"It can fly a little bit faster than me and it breathes fire, just another dragon that could take down a whole army that's all.." she said as she flew back down and stood beside Blaze.

 

"Let's try riding it before I send it back to hell okay?" she asked kindly.

His dream shifted again. He was standing before the tablet, blood streaked his body and he was in tears. Behind him, to dead ponies layers peacefully in front of a large amount of filly zombies. He cried before the tablet, and the tablet began to resonate with sound. Finally, it spoke. "Why do you cry, little one?" it asked Quickly.

 

"Because they're dead. My friends are gone, and it's my fault. I wasn't strong enough to protect them. I failed them, and their parents, and because of that, I am shamed. I will never see their faces, hear their voices, ever again," he cried.

 

"Fear not," the tablet had said. But the dream shifted again, and the ponies had shifted from my friends from then to Carrick and Blaze. That which stands together, falls together, and cries together, succeeds together as well. But those who stand alone, fight alone, and die alone. A fued is more dangerous than a knife, and a group devided is less effective then a group together. Celestia always has a plan, came the voice of my father from a training session. The two colts' heads behind him snapped, and an evil cackle sounded. He woke up screaming.

Starbolt woke up to Quick's screaming. She stood up with magic ready.

"What happened?" She looked around but saw no threats so she lowered her magic.

"Quick, are you okay?" She asked the screaming pony.

He looks at her wide eyed,"I-I-I dreamt something. I-it's nothing-g." He stands shakily, and moves to a window. Why? Why was I shown this? Does it mean anything. I don't really want to talk about it... he thinks shakily. He continues to stare out the window.

Carrick took the small muttering of a exhausted Quick and put them all together in a connected puzzle. Looks like Quick plays for a different team. Who would of guess? Not like there anything wrong with that. Carrick went to see his friend go into the bedroom. He went and grabbed a file cabinet and placed it on the counter of the kitchen. He started to check each and every file in his cabinet.

 

"You found anything, Liam?" Carrick asked him.

 

"Funny you should ask," Liam gave him the file.

 

Carrick read the file as he paraphrase it to the group, "Yeah, this seems correct. Reports of missing ponies around the north district of Fillydelphia. That isn't too suspicious however the report also states of certain ponies having temporary blindness when around the area. It's hard to be caught when you can't see the pony themselves. Smart one." Carrick said to himself.

 

Liam chimed in, "You remember how the north district is right?"

 

Carrick nodded, "It's pretty good place to do whatever the hell you want. Most cops tried to stay away from there. If Discord ever saw it over there, it would be paradise for him." Carrick knew that it would be hard to find anypony in that district. However, it's a start. Liam went and check his files again.

 

"Wish I could more help than just a report."

 

"It's fine, better than-" Carrick stopped when he heard Quick's screams. Starbolt woke up from her slumber and asked what happened to him. He said he dreamt something. Carrick shook his head, "You should tell us more than us that. From the stuttering itself you could tell it was a big nightmare. Maybe a premonition? Something that might happen?"

He stares at him for a solid minute, trying to compose himself. "I dreamt alot, but the part that pertains to you is this. A long time ago, I took a trio to Alicorn Island. I soley survived. I saw myself back to the place they died, but instead I saw you and Blaze get your necks snapped, and evil cackling. Right before I saw that, I heard one of my dad's lessons on teamwork," he says quietly. He then states the earlier quote. "You look much better alive," he adds, staring out the window.

Fae moved some of her potions to make space for Carrick's papers.

'Starbolt look at these.' She told Starbolt.

Starbolt looked at the potions. "Impressive Fae." She said as she put several of them in her saddlebag.

Carrick rolled his eyes, this was the same schtick Hypno had pretty much said back in the cabin. He wasn't sure if the premonition was true. However with how this case had been going along, he was considering it in his head. "I tried to convince Blaze to stay in the group after what I had said. It probably would been better if the whole group would stay altogether. As I said to Blaze before, we're like Ying and Yang. In so many ways. When connected we're better fused than apart."

 

Carrick looked at the file again, "However, he didn't want to stay and left with two others of our group and left a magic-less unicorn with the group." Carrick said as Trixie really didn't say much. She gave Carrick a cold stare, but he ignored it. "Right now, we have something while they probably haven't even gotten here. We better just head off and find out where this damn pony is." Carrick said.
